For me looking nice as nice as possible, is just apart of my; basic hygiene. Not using cosmetics before going to a gym'd be like, wearing dirty clothes from my hamper; instead of clean clothes.

Sometimes I come from work, @Timshel_, sheesh. Or my makeup is just still caked on from the night before
One time I did overhear some mean girls gossiping about how much makeup I was wearing at the gym It's not like I put it on FOR the gym O_o....I just don't wash it off

Lol yeah & I am even worse, with run on sentences!3 -

I have mostly seen girls with a new face painted over their real one with a tiny sports bra and tiny short shorts. The outfit wouldn't bother me (as i don't mind checking them out )if it wasn't for all the makeup running down their face by the end of their workout.
LOL my workout cloths.. :P
But I never wear makeup.. I wash it off before I go to the studio or the gym. Guess I'm a peacock.
(well I don't powerlift in yoga shorts and a sports bra.. I wear full on clothes when lifting..everything else.. yoga shorts + sports bra :P )0 -

Honestly though...mostly I just do me at the gym.
It doesn't really bother me what other people look like when they go to the gym O_o1 -
Surprisingly, I've seen more crazy things just out and about than in the gym.
For a while, I would often see a middle-aged guy out power walking during my commute: tight tank over big belly and *tiny* neon shorts. His outfit was never the same from day to day, who knew there were so many bright colors to choose from with workout apparel!
I once saw a male runner stretching, leg up on a bench...super short running shorts...could not unsee! Longest stoplight ever. He was also wearing neon colored clothing and matching sweatband.
Probably not surprising that peacocking and neon clothing go together in my mind.3 -
My sister wears make up for the gym about 3 to 5 times a week! Good on her I say. If she can be bothered & it makes her feel good then she's not harming anyone just lining the pockets of Mac & Benefit2

Too tan lady with her boobs out, yeah, I've seen her.2

I have also seen the guys who come in and are in a pack of 3-5 and all stand around and lift a little but laugh a lot. You know the Bros of the gym.
I stay to myself except for the few other veterans I happen to say hello to. The gym for me is all about work and results. No time for the peacocks grunting louder than needed or the women jumping rope with the small tank top on in front of the mirror co stantly adjusting and pulling it down.
It seems to me that those whom begin a thread to complain're the 1's whom're upset!
Ahh these types of people are everyone. Life is not complete without these.0 -

It's peahens, actually.
I never leave the house without makeup unless I'm going backpacking. I had severe cystic acne for about 15 years in my 20s and 30s (thank God for Accutane). I wore makeup to cover up the disfiguring purple cysts the best I could and I became extremely averse to anyone seeing me without makeup. Today My face still has some scars and I am sensitive about them. It is a confidence thing for me. I am self-conscious without foundation and a bit of powder for my still very oily skin, along with a touch of blush and mascara. Yes, I put makeup on to go to the gym. It does not run down my face. Probably very few -- if any -- people notice I have makeup on. The hair gets thrown up in a ponytail. So yeah, some people choose to wear makeup to the gym.

The main culprits at my gym are the ones where they have a face full of complete make up, fake tans, fake eyelashes included, who strut around in their hotpants and bras... But don't actually use the gym equipment???
I mean, I'm all for body confidence, you go girlssss, but come on? What's the point? I think you're in the wrong place!4 -

Ever been fully clothed at a hot yoga class? Stretching in a heated room that's around 98 F?
We have that at my gym and it's very common to see the girls walking around the gym to cool off. No one seems to care0 -
I wish I could take a picture of this one dude at the gym, he dresses like he just stepped out of the 80s. Also I don't know what is up with guys that wear jeans to work out in. Seriously, is it that hard to get shorts or workout pants. At least make some jean short cutoffs. haha1

You mean like the pants Joey Buttafuoco was wearing back in the day? I forget the name of them, had Zebra Stripes I think.0 -
i was teaching a class and mentioned i liked the polka dots....after class i told her about the squat test. it helps avoid those types of pants0

This irritates me because I don't like people taking up gym space and not using it. The gym is crowded enough as it is.
That said, I wear waterproof makeup everywhere I go. Usually with a running hat for convenience. I wear short shorts on squat days because I can go ATG without having to constantly readjust my capri leggings. I don't give a dang what anyone else looks like at the gym as long as they're not actually peacocking while pretending to use equipment.0 -

they'd probably be embarrassed I'd suspect. I know when my bathing suit gets a little worn once someone points it out i'm mortified
It wouldn't be to be mean though. I would compliment the view but ask if they were aware just how clear the view is.... I dunno ... I would hope someone could tell me my attire is a little revealing ....
Please, please do not do that.4 -
I will never understand why anyone cares what anyone else is doing in the gym. They paid their membership fee, if they wanna put on a pink tutu and sit in the middle of the floor and read a comic, that's their prerogative, as long as they're not getting in my way.7

Not peacocking so much as something that I remembered that was awesome ... there was a guy at the gym that I called "Blade guy" because he had the full-on Wesley Snipes blade fauxhawk with big tribal tattoos and dude was ripped AF. He was amazing.
One thing I don't get that I think I've seen once or twice is someone drinking out of a hot Starbucks cup. I feel like that hot beverage can't be good for you while you're working out.0
