Tell us about an exercise you have wanted to try.

I've always wanted to try a colour run. They look like so much fun! :)

I've just registered to do one with my sister on July 9th. It will be my first one. I can't wait!

What did you eat today? Gah, that was the worst day for that question to be asked, haha. Usually I'm pretty good about sticking with my meal plans but yesterday I was celebrating at a barbecue after my college graduation!

    Breakfast: Starbucks iced chai latte
Lunch: McDonald's sausage mcmuffin (because of my lack of filling breakfast in the morning)
Snack: jicama, radishes, bell peppers, asparagus and some dip
Dinner: cheeseburger, big salad, nibbles of dishes people brought, some chips
Dessert: 2 black bean brownies (so good!)

I don't feel guilty about it, because it was a long day and I didn't binge, but that's the first time in awhile I went to McDonald's. It wasn't that great! Today will be better.

What did I eat today yesterday?

Yesterday was terrible. Really terrible. :(

Breakfast: Multivitamin, leftover thin crust veggie pizza (bad planning meant I'd run out of my protein bars and berries - this was all I had in the house and there isn't anywhere to grab decent breakfast near my new job. Excuses, I know.)
Lunch: Grilled halloumi and roasted vegetable sandwich, grapefruit mineral water (this was the best meal of the day)
Dinner: Tried a new recipe and HATED it. Black pepper tofu stir fry with rice noodles and spinach. It tasted like inhaling black pepper. My boyfriend loved it (he finished it all, without the spinach), but I had one bite and then ended up eating pita with hummus and spinach. Cocktail.
Evening treat: To celebrate my new job, my boyfriend took me out to the fancy dessert place. I had earl grey soft serve.

I've been really struggling over the past few weeks. I've stalled in my weight loss, hovering either 1 lbs up or down from 176 for about a month. It's so frustrating seeing the weight dance around this number.

My biggest issues with food right now are fruit/vegetables and protein. I'm a vegetarian/pescetarian living with the pickiest eater alive. He refuses to eat almost all fruit and vegetables (he likes grapefruit, cucumber, daikon, some carrot, and sweet potatoes...that's it) and he hates most vegetarian proteins (he likes tofu and chickpeas, but hates beans, legumes, etc.). He basically exists off of carbs, meat, and cheese (and picks out everything else, which drives me mad). It can be so frustrating coming up with recipes to make that he'll actually eat. It also makes it challenging for me to cook the food that I need to eat, as it tends to mean cooking two separate meals.

Honestly, I blame his parents. It makes me so angry that they indulged him like this. They've basically passed the problem onto me. I'm NOT his mommy and I refuse to fight with him over meals. He's a grown man and he should be taking charge of his health. But it's meant me gaining weight and not being able to cook the meals I need to in order to stay healthy. :(

Picky eaters drive me nuts! I have a similar problem with my boyfriend. He isn't terribly picky, it's just he would rather eat carbs, meat and cheese before vegetables. I got fed up with cooking two meals every night, so I told him either you cook your own food or plan in advance what you want to eat this week and you can help me meal prep. So this week he helped me prep his slow cooker chicken fajitas. I think he's having fun finding a new recipe to try each week, and it's something we enjoy doing together. AND he's learning how to cook, which is nice.

Weekly Goals: Tighten up my logging. No treats during the week. More fruit and veg.

Struggles: Having trouble getting out of the 170s. I keep fluctuating between 175 - 177. I tried to do some exercise videos (blogilates), but they were really hurting me, so I had to take a break. I've bought a food scale, but I find myself getting a bit obsessive/stressed out about it. Any tips?

I also have a food scale and honestly I used mine for about 2 weeks. At some point you get used to what the portions are just by looking at them. everyone in awhile I take it back out for new foods or just to make sure my portions are still accurate. I think it's a great tool to have. It has helped me loads.
