    Not a fan of fake nails either
    I like mine shortish with either a square or oval shape best and I'm a fan of O.P.I
    I go through fazes of just clear polish but I do like a pop of colour, I like reds the best or a nice nude

    My nails only grow long about two to three times a year. I go for natural. Only paint them when I'm happy with the length.All other times, they are kept short and tidy. I don't like having really short painted nails.

    Oooh girl. I'm all about nailsssss. I wear 'em long most of the time. The key is locking out water and locking in moisture of the right type.

    I'm all about glitter, blues/purples/pinks. I'm a square girl most of the time. When they are super long I go round to minimize breaks. I've been toying with coffin/ballerina shape.

    I do like a bit of glitter as well, the right nail length, perfectly manicured nails look amazing with glitter polish, had a look at your nails wish my nails looked as nice as that yours must be really strong to grow them to that length is there any product you swear by for growing nails out strong

    Don't think iv got the patience for nail art, base coat followed by 2 coats of colour and I'm done
    Hate waiting on them drying though

    Wear polish as much as possible. Even if it's base coat/top coat. It blocks out the water. I paint the under side with quick dry polish too to really seal it. Never shower or do dishes with naked nails. Dishes and cleaning = gloves (I use cheapos from $1store). When I wash my hands I either dry under them (at home, usually a quick qtip swipe under all) or blow the water out.

    Moisturizing: I only use Jojoba oil. It's closest to our natural body oils. I apply it once a day and massage in. One drop per nail. And when I change my polish I apply it after removing my old polish with acetone. You can apply jojoba over polish, too. Just remove unabsorbed oil with soap and water.

    Why? Water and jojoba/our natural oil absorb into the nail like nothing else can. Then the nails become water logged and bloated. When water evaporates, it takes your natural oils with it. Leaving behind a dry brittle nail that peels and breaks.

    Product brands don't matter. I use $2 and $10 polish, just because I like the colors. I use a fast dry topcoat (Seche Vite) because I'm impatient. My jojoba oil comes from Amazon or a hippie shop in my city. It's about the physical care and the science behind it.

    I bit my nails for 28 years. That's not even 8 weeks growth. Just because I lock out water and use an oil our bodies readily accept.

    Wow your nails are like a work of art did you have them done at a salon or do them yourself? How long do your nails stay like that before you need to re do them

    Kate, there is a quick dry top coat called Seche Vite. You can find it in salons, drugstores, or online. It will make your manicure dry much faster and last longer.

    I have heard about the jojoba oil, I'm getting me some of that iv been using OPI avoplex been happy with it as far as my cuticles go but I'm gona get jojoba oil and I am guilty of washing up or showering with bare nails so il be making sure I keep them protected from now on, I guess it's all about keeping the moisture locked in like you said

    Vaseline intensive care hand n nail lotion is pretty cheap and iv found in the past if I rubbed that into my nails n cuticles daily like 3 times it did exactly what it says on the tube, 10x stronger nails in 2 weeks. But I personally think an oil is a good addition to nail care

    I'm gona buy that, my sister used to use Sally Hansen spray to dry her nails that was quite a while ago lol but I'm needing to invest in something like the seche vite

    They last about 2-3 weeks before I get them filled. If you mean with regards to the designs/jewels, it just depends on how rough you are on your nails and/or the quality work of the technician. I never have a problem with anything coming loose or falling off on mine and I'm pretty hard on them. I get them done at a salon.

    Personally I love doing my own nails Ive got a really steady hand so I'm lucky in the way I do my own designs on them I like a slightly squared shaped nails and love pastel colour or really in your face bright colours.. I get a bit obsessive with them though if I make the tiniest of mistakes I start all over again and il do it till its perfect

    Also you can use liquid latex to mask off your cuticles if you have issues with the polish running onto them. I have flat, deeply embedded nails like a dude and it is so hard to keep the polish from running into them.
