What's up with my boobs?

Began on April 1st. Have lost 19 of the 32 lbs I wish to lose. 3" off my waist, 2" off my hips, thighs look great (never measured them to begin with) - down a dress size. Not ONE INCH off the boobs - even though bras are fitting much better, as are my tops. What's up with that??? Is it my age - 61?? Husband is ecstatic - me...not so much....maybe they're just getting perkier because of the weights and yoga??? Anyone??

I'm with ya on that! I have dropped 45 pounds, went from a size 22, to 16/18 and not a single ounce of change in my chest! Still a 38D, just on the inner hooks now
Although, they ARE a bit perkier from all the pushups I do1 -
Heidi - glad I'm not alone....congrats on the 45 lbs

The weight comes off where it wants to come off, unfortunately, and I hear it's really common for that to be the first place it comes from.2

It's possible that you just lose from there last or that most of your breasts are actual tissue (glands and ducts) instead of fat.2
-
Yep, I'm down 30 pounds (from a size 12 to between an 6 or 8). Down lots of inches and my boobs are the same size. I know that they will eventually reduce in size but so far no luck.0

Ugh, I wish that was an issue I had.14

Yeah, I hate to say it but don't get too excited quite yet. My cup size went up while losing 50 pounds because I didn't lose as much fat from the actual breasts themselves as from the area where the band lies. In the past 2 months, however, I've had a sudden and noticeable drop in fat from that area.1

Me too! The very first place I lost was in my boobs! I kinda want them back!4 -
LOL! Sounds as if boobs have a mind of their own - no telling what is going to happen with them when losing weight - some of us will be happy - others of us not....oh well...1
-
Lol my boobs are the last place to get bigger when I gain weight, and the first place I lose it when the weight comes off.0

The only positive thing about being overweight was actually having some. Of course, they were the first to go.3
-
It all depends on your genetic makeup. I never gain or lose much in my breasts. If you measure your band (just below the breast) you'll probably find a loss there, which is what makes the clothes fit better.3

My boobs have just deflated and got sad. I'm still technically the same cup size though as I went down a band size.
Pretty sure what is left is actual tissue though, so I doubt I can lose much more!0 -

Oh thank you for sharing this. My boobs have stayed the same pretty much (band size is down 4 inches, but not bust) and I have lost 65 pounds, half way to goal. I will keep hope that it will come off as I continue to lose.0 -
I've only lost a couple inches in my bust measurement. My cup size has remained the same whilst my back has gone down. I'm nearly at my dance school days size everywhere else but my boobs are still a lot bigger! I don't mind too much though, they're in proportion but it would be nice to get into the regular people cup sizes if for nothing else other than more choice!3

I have always had big boobs. They have been the bane of my life. As an active person, who enjoys horse riding, they have caused me no end of pain and problems over the years, but I was never brave enough to have surgery.
I have lost 50lb and gone from a 40J to a 32G. For the first time in my life I don't feel like I am following my boobs into a room!
Previously when I have lost weight, it has never gone from my boobs. Perhaps it's my age? I'm 46.5 -
I'm 5' 4.5" and my weight went from 173 lbs to 147 lbs, by bra size has gone from a 36 D to a 34 DD. I'm not totally surprised though, even at my smallest my chest has always been on the larger side1
-
I'm down 39 pounds and am wearing the same bras on tighter hooks. I don't fill the cup quite as well, but no need to go bra shopping just yet. I do lift weights and my routine includes two chest exercises.1

Dunno. At age 55, my boobs are more "what's down" than "what's up" (!)
I lost 50 lbs and went from a 44DD to a 40C, but it seems like I lost more back fat and under arm fat than true boob size. Also, with a smaller waist and tummy, The Girls look much perkier than they used to-- as long as I treat them to good industrial-strength infrastucture!11 -
What's "down" with my boobs?
Band remained the same (32), cup went up from a D to a DD, and for a 4 feet 11 inches, 102.8 lb older person that is a lot to carry (thanks Mom!). Perkiness is not where to be found and I only had 12lbs to lose. We can't win ladies.

well...in my 40 pound loss so far I went from a 36D to a 34DD. So you're not alone. I take it as a blessing!3

Exactly the same that happened to me! I went from 196 to 155 (so far). My breasts kind of fight between D and DD right now though, I imagine in another 15-20 pounds if I don't gain muscle I'll go to a 34D1 -
*sticking fingers in ears* I no wanna hear ittttttt .... My boobs are sadly one of the first places for fat to come off me. Although, The skin seems to look a little better so far this time around.2

I'm down 25 lbs still wearing the same bras but one side got noticeably smaller than the other as I lost weight. It evened out a bit over time but there is still a difference that there didn't used to be.0

I didn't start losing my bust until the last 5-7 pounds. Now it's fading fast.1

All I can say is...there is a reason they call Victoria's Secret bra a miracle! Almost 40 lbs down and I need a miracle!5

Happy to have given you hope For me it hasn't been a welcome development but there's not much I can do about that. I can understand hoping for loss when it's an area that causes discomfort or other problems.0 -
I have lost just about 60 pounds and mine are basically the same as when I started. Oh well, now it's a smaller band size but the cup size is now something ridiculous like an E or an F - I forget - basically something I can't buy in a regular store and have to spend $$ on a specialty bra.2

When women go through menopause, generally all the milk producing tissue will decrease and women's breasts end up mostly fat. I don't like to assume things, but at 61 I would guess she's in menopause.
Could definitely just be the way you lose weight OP - if you keep going they may go down eventually, but they may not. As I lose weight I find my band size going down and cup size going up. I'm waiting until I lose some more weight before getting a reduction - just in case maybe they do go down some on their own1 -
I could stand to lose a little there, they went up several cup sizes in my latest round of weight gain and are becoming a bit unwieldy , but I am a little worried they might shrink too much! Don't leave me, boobs!0
