Nice Amy! I was just coming on to post this I also can't believe it's week 3!! :ohwell: yikes?
I may or may not be able to check in tomorrow morning but I'll get on at some point!0 -
meals for Tuesday:
1. pumpkin apple oatmeal
2. protein smoothie (fat free plain yogurt, skim milk, strawberries, chocolate whey protein powder)
3. Ezekiel toast w/ hummus & alfalfa sprouts, brazil nuts
4. red pepper slices, Ezekiel toast w/ almond butter & apple slices, choc protein shake
5. 3oz baked salmon fillet, baked sweet potato & steamed broccoli & carrots
6. protein smoothie (ff plain yogurt, skim milk, banana, flax meal, acidophilus, almond butter, blueberries, vanilla ice cream whey protein powder)
workout: 1 hour interval class (5 mins weights, 5 mins cardio for 55 mins)
I've increased my calories by 50 per day and I may bump them up a little more in a couple of weeks. Need to shake things up a little0 -
:flowerforyou: I can't believe its week 3 either. :ohwell: Wow!!! I haven't been eating as well as I know I should and I have been working out less too. I will face the concequences later today. Since I haven't been drinking water I want to skip the weigh in but I won't. I can't. Accepting what I have done will hopefully keep me grounded in later weeks. I had some friends come to town to see me off before I leave Memphis. It was nice. Reminded me of the good times in dental school.
This week is my house hunting trip and then I start work on Monday. Back to the real world. After resting since I finished school in Sept. I am ready for the real world. Can't wait... I think. LOL.

good morning....i lost the .4 i gained, so now dead even, better than i thought. i know on friday the scale was down 2, but, eating didn't stop on the weekend. it's all about balance....
waiting to see if it snows. we are suppose to get some snow today. we don't get snow. so, it may be too warm now. i want my coffee.....can't have to fast for the test i sure will be hungry when it's done. it's not until 11 today. i can't even have water.....
tamm...i too wanted to just skip weigh in. but, it does keep me in check.
think i will go lay on the couch and watch some shows i tivoed last night. maybe go back to sleep....waste the time away. thought i would go to the gym. but, if i can't have water. don't really want to do that.

Well, it is at a stand still for me. No loss/no gain. I guess I should be happy but I wanted to be done with those 2 extra pounds. I guess I am going to have to work super hard this week to see some good positive results (negative on the scale:laugh: )

Things are crazy right now for me, school and all that PLUS last night got in a car accident...my daughter and I are okay but my car had to be towed long story..I have no car now,,,so its all a mess.

Well, I'm down from last week, but still up from our starting weight. I know I need to get on the ball;still looking for the right motivation. I am tierd this morning and am having a hard time taking myself into exercising.
Cathy, You have a lot going on right now. It's terrible that you have to deal with all that pain on top of your hunger and your appt. isn't until 11:00. I always shoot for an early appt. if I am fasting. Hope you feel better soon.:flowerforyou:

Just a quick post, still sick, I actually took medicine this morning, because I was wheezy. Up at 5:30, drove my son to school, went out for breakfast (I had an hour to kill before an appt., and it wasn't worth driving home and back on the slippery roads), met with my boss and an accountant to do year end taxes, and now I'm going to toddle back to bed. I did have aspirations of going and working out today, but I don't think it's happening.
Good note, I had multigrain pancakes at Big Boy. Dang, were they good! I only ate half, but still was almost 500 calories with syrup. But they were good, and I used a lot less syrup than I would have with regular pancakes. Anyhow, you all have a wonderful day, I'll be on later (maybe) with personals and my love for the day.0 -

hey ladies. just a quick post... i am wicked sick (yuck) :sick: i have been fighting something since xmass and all the sudden it hit me (i think it is the flu... but im off to the doc)... so no weigh in today... i am just going to eat what i can and try to get well asap. feel better bunny! katy i am sorry to here about your car... but i am glad you guys are okay, that is what matters most! congrats on the progress ladies. keep it up. strawberry and bunny, hope you guys feel better soon. i have granddaughter #2 today she has a sore thoart and running a fever. shanell can't take off work or she won't get paid your yesterdays holiday.

deb...getting back into the swing of things i find the hardest to do. than i yell at myself for even falling off in the first place.
i had my test, she is sending her report right over to dr. s and she put s.a.t. for the radioligist(sp) to look at it and send his report asap. she said it was in bad shape, full full full of stones. most time when they do an ultrasound they don't say anything, she did. asked too if i had problems with my kidneys i said no, but, my leaves were going up and dr. s was keeping an eye on them. she wouldn't say any more about them. just kept telling me how full of stones the gall bladder was and that she agreed it was in sad shape. i said well dr. s. didn't want it to rot. she said oh, it's not rotty, but darn close. lol....so now wait to see when dr. s can get the insurance referral in for the surgeon and than on to surgery. i figure by weeks end. my insurance is very quick.
well, off to close my eyes for a little bit. starr is closing hers on the couch right now. if they stay closed...0 -

I've gained back the 1.5lbs I lost. Back at square one. :laugh: Still in the 150s! Gotta keep that silver lining ever present or we'll all go crazy!

I look mighty cute in a new bright green sweater. It makes me feel warm, bubbly, and fun. I love happy clothes that help lift me into happy moods!!

well, doc called me around 2- 2:30 and said he wanted me in his office first thing in the morning. so have a 10am appointment. said the radiolisgist called him as soon as he read the ultrasound. it is acute and very inflamed. so doing research tonight. he may just send me to surgery tomorrow. keep you guys updated. off to search for some more info.

Ladies, it seems we have many troubles plaguing our group. I hope those of you who are sick get better in a hurry, I know being sick is not fun. And it can be a big deterrent to weight loss. For those of you lacking motivation, don't give up, it is so worth it. Cathy, I hope you get this all taken care of and feel better. Katy, glad you are ok.

Hey Ladies. I didn't forget about the weigh in. I was extremely busy today. Trying to get things done before I leave to go to Va for the house hunting trip and then start the new job. Lots on my plate. I am staying positive though..... I love that about myself . Anyway, I am up 2 (TWO) lbs since fridays weigh in. I knew it though! I was not on my best behavior. I am writing this because it helps me deal w/ my decisions and I hope I will learn a lesson. Today I woke up early and did a 50 min DVD. I felt good all day. I even got my hair done today. Just showing myself some love.
Katy- I am so glad you and your daughter are safe. I hope things get better soon. Good weight progress though.
Deb- we all have those days when fitness is a struggle. I don't know if its just because its Jan and cold but I have been slacking a little too. Keep up the good work. You will burst through this soon.
Robin and Strawberry- feel better soon. Actually- everyone who isn't feeling well. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Lauryn- I love happy clothes too. I know you will get the weight back off. You can do it. Staying positive is easy for you!!! Good luck!!! YAY.

Sorry I wasn't on today ladies. I've been really having a very hard time recently. I read a great post this evening though and I feel like I'm slowly finding the pieces to the puzzle of my new-required motivation. I was saying to my husband today that I realize this is a new phase I'm in. I have accomplished so much since June (and really, I've done little but maintain the last couple of months). But I'm now "normal" looking (people wouldn't look at me and think 'hmm, that woman is over-weight'), I can buy clothing at normal stores and it looks GOOD, and I feel so much better than I did before. Those are all positive things. But am I content to stay here? NO!! This is not what I want, this is me having returned to the old "fat" me, before I really ballooned. Now I need to push on with the goals I dreamed of years ago. And that's a different kind of motivation and I need to find all of it and root in it and then proceed. As you've all observed, I'm prone to these bursts of epiphany and I consider myself to be rather introspective. I'm always analyzing what's going on in my mind and trying to lay it out. I can't explain how much it means to have you women in my life and to know that you're watching me a little. It gives me an extra push that I really need right now. I don't want months and months to go by and just maintain. I want to see changes again! And I can't do that by blowing one day at a time, only by succeeding moment to moment. "Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts" ~ Winston Churchill. So true. If it's in my signature I ought to pay more attention to it. So I've changed my counter to lbs left to go. As Lauryn once said, I was getting too cocky, riding the tails of my 50lbs lost. Back to reality, back to change and back to a hell of a lot of work.

pedal....you CAN do this...you know you can...it is so true that the changes we make includes mind games....redoing, rethinking, analyzing, sorting....this is all part of the jounery. it gets so frustrating, as if testing your strentgh in the changes we want to make and are making. i think sometimes that if i maintain, this is easier, until the scale creaps up a pound or 2 and than you realize you can't go back. mind games are no fun. my sister lost over 150#s and she is always telling me the mind games are the toughest part of the whole weight loss, because you are always rethinking, analyzing. you are not alone in this. i now have to do this again with the pending surgery coming up. sets me back once more for a recoupe period. i think i am appoching this differently this time, as not giving myself permission to pig out. to think before i eat, and to eat better. (helps i hear it's a clear fluid diet) before and after. doctor will give me more info on that today i hope.
i am off to get in some exercise before heading to the doctors again. don't know what will become of today. hope to be back soon. if not i will tell shanell to post for me.

well, doc called me around 2- 2:30 and said he wanted me in his office first thing in the morning. so have a 10am appointment. said the radiolisgist called him as soon as he read the ultrasound. it is acute and very inflamed. so doing research tonight. he may just send me to surgery tomorrow. keep you guys updated. off to search for some more info.

Hello everyone. Sorry I've been missing. Like Mom said, my youngest is sick. Took her to the docs yesterday and she has an ear infection, strep throat, and allergies. Poor kid. She's 5 and never gets this sick, just colds. Usually she just hurts herself physically all the time. I stayed home with her today becuase she's still not up to her normal annoying self.:laugh: My wisdom tooth is bothering me real bad last night and today. I had gone to a dentist last year and the next thing I knew my top 2 wisdom teeth were chipping away when I would eat. I need to go to another dentist, but they are so expensive even with my insurance. Hopefully this year I'll get my teeth done and fixed.

Pedal, you can get through it. Everyone goes through when they think I've done this much why not stop, but you will gain back if you don't go all the way and learn how.

Thanks ladies, that's exactly why I know I need to stay in the game. Getting this far is great but I'm not done and I know it. I guess since I've felt it was pretty easy thus far, I'm getting into my first tough part. More to come so I need to learn how to handle it.
My weight has been all over the place the last few days so I have no idea what to say. 176, 169, 173... But my water intake has been fluctuating too, as has my sodium intake. I changed my numbers to 173 anyway since it has been the measurement in the middle. I hope to know more next week once I've got some consistency going again!

ok, update. doc said it's full, inflammed, infected. need to see surgeon SAT. (been hearing that word allot in the last few days LOL). see surgeon tomorrow. made me stay in office until the got one for today or tomorrow. using the same one son just had his surgery with. he's a general and that's what i need. at least i know him and he seems nice and did a good job on son. i would rather put up with his lateness than be sent to someone i can't understand or heard about. it would have been who ever insurance pays and who could get me fastest. i take him... hope to get this thing out very soon. doc says it's pretty bad.
off to do some cleaning just in case. never know now....

Hey ladies. :flowerforyou: .. i am still wicked sick :sick: BUT I am still going to try really hard to stay on track with my nutritional goals (i don't think running in the cold would be good right now )... Anyways I weighed myself today and I am exactly the same 150.2... I guess that is good considering I haven't counted a calorie / exercised in about a week. (I started counting again... I really want to get into the 140's by next weigh in)... :drinker: so i am Drinking LOTS of water and eating right (hopefully) :drinker:

I am getting back into the groove of homework & tests again. This time I am not as motivated to lose the weight, but I'm not giving up. It is just hard when you have a household to run & school & feeling a little tierd. I did get a good workout in today, but tomorrow will almost be impossible. Where does everyone get their energy?
Cathy, Ooh, your gallbladder issues sound awful. Is surgery tomorrow or just see the surgeon? Hope all goes well and you feel great soon.
Pedal, I hope to be busting through the meal planning issues soon. Glad that you are enjoying shopping for normal size clothes. I can't wait to be out of plus size, I'm borderline right now. You only have 38 more to go! You really have come a long way. I think it's great thay your introspective I think that is very wise. I must make some time to think about my goals & issues too.

well, guess what it was the flu now it is pnemonia (yuck) and I have to present my research at a conference in the morning :ohwell: oh well. i can be happy that I have another week until class starts up again (Deb, I completly understand how life + school can become completly overwhelming... to the point where I have NO motivation or energy... but i have found when I get into a good exercise routine combined with lots of healthy food I have more energy to get through the rest of my crazy day... keep it up!!!! :flowerforyou: ) PS. where are eveyones 'love themselves' i think some of us (including me) are slacking on this one... ... so today I love that when i look out at the ocean everyday at work, I can find true motivation for all of the grad-school related stress I am going through now... I didn't feel tempted today!!! I was in a few circumstances that have been taunting me the last while and I actually wasn't even tempted. AND, I bought myself a book that was on sale. My favourite cookbooks are the Eat Clean series by Tosca Reno. She's also got a workout book and just an informational book (with 30 recipes) and it was on HUGE sale. I have the 2 cookbooks but not the info book so I bought it for myself as some motivational reading. Also the new issue of Oxygen magazine came out today so I picked that up too. And I found a shirt at Old Navy (we went in to use their bathroom) for $2 which I also got. It is a size SMALL. More snug than I would wear out of the house right now but yet another thing to shrink into. I'd rather have a wardrobe to enjoy shrinking into than one that I lament shrinking out of. Gym tonight and a good supper planned and I'm feeling like I'm on my way back on track. I've proclaimed that I'm back to my routine a few times in the last few weeks but part of saying that was to try to convince myself. If I say it, I have to follow through. But I'm starting to see what all the pieces are that have been coming together and I'm feeling optimistic and confident again, sort of like I'm starting for the first time. Does that make sense?

My for the day is that I am really working through these lifestyle changes in a way that will be permanent. If there weren't this kind of emotional work to go along with it, it could only be a matter of time before the same patterns hit me again.
