Hi everyone! I've been on MFP for a while but not really been doing it regularly and I haven't been exercising/watching what I'm eating which has resulted in weight steadily creeping on. I have a lot of weight to lose buy I'm aiming for 50lb loss so I can reassess my body and shape from there.

I'm just cheering you all on. I lost 85 pounds and it took me 3 years. It won't always happen in a linear fashion, it happens in "chunks" as the body sheds water and fat, and sometimes retains water. The body weight scale is just a trend tool over time, very limited so don't get too hung up on it. Focus always on the food scale instead of the body weight scale. The process works even if you never stepped on the scale.
It's really good to eat up to your normal maintenance at least one day a week to help keep hormones stable and give you a "light at the end of the tunnel" every week mentally, and have those treats you might be depriving yourself of. This is not cheating, it's eating normal. Don't get stuck in the rut that the calorie deficit is "normal eating", it's not, it's corrective action we use to fix a health problem. Use it as a tool.

I'm in and starting at 210 and want to get to 150.. Lost 2.2 this past week, Friday is my weigh in day. Eating better and working out at least 5 days a week. Let's go!1

Neh ... 10 pounds a month is more than I have ever been able to accomplish consistently in the past. But good luck to all of you who are giving it a go. Are you organizing as a group or just posting loosely on this thread?1
