I've had a rough few weeks diet wise. First there was a whirlwind of social stuff (involving alcohol therefore reduced food inhibitions), followed by some sad news that had me turning to my dear friend sugar. I stepped on the scales somewhere in there and saw a 3 lb gain. On and off I attempted to get back on track but couldn't seem to string together many fully logged days. I finally had two good days and decided to face the scales. I was expecting 5 lbs up, and was ready to start chipping away at them. Instead I was down .5lb! The victory is more than the scale reading. The victory is both in the way I was ready to get back on track as quickly as I did (easier to not procrastinate when I know my diet will be gentle rather than aggressive), and in the way that I made attempts to reduce calories on and off during those 3 weeks that kept the weight gain to a minimum. Obviously I don't need to be perfect, I just have to keep trying.37

This is a little silly. Last month I decided to actually try out the pole fitness class I had been eyeing up for a few years but didn't have the courage to do 40+ lbs heavier. I have discovered that my core strength is WAY better than I thought it was, and after a few lessons I managed to do an invert on my third ever try.34

I have a few from this week.
First, I realized I can bend over and touch my fingertips to the ground without bending my legs. I don't think I've ever been able to do that in my life!
Second, I realized that I only have one pair of dress pants that fit without a belt. Guess I'm sticking to dresses at school until I find a nice belt!
And third, I got my first "Have you lost weight? How did you so it?!" from someone who wasn't my mother.22 -
In two days, our temps went from heat index 20 degrees above normal to temps 10 degrees below normal. So today I'm wearing a light corduroy jacket at work, and the sleeves over my upper arms have wiggle room! The sleeves were tight last spring.14

I am packing to move to a different house and going through closets right now...a winter jacket/coat that I bought 2 yrs ago which never fit, now fits great and a winter jacket I haven't been able to wear in 4 years also fits again.13

Yesterday I decided that my subconscious was starting to think burgers and/or fries are forbidden foods (I had a dream that I was stuffing my face with like 3 orders of fries and a ridiculously huge burger lol), so I decided to go to McDonalds for lunch, because I wanted to head off any potential binges before it became an issue. I was going to get a McDouble and a small fry, which is already a significant change from what i'd normally get, but at the very last second I ordered just a regular cheeseburger rather than the double. I was still satisfied after I was done.24

I find myself ordering a chicken nugget happy meal nowadays and a hamburger with a Diet Coke. It's the same as what my kids eat. I could stuff in sooo much more as they are so yummy but after 10 minutes, like you it's enough to satisfy.. Well done x9 -
Lost 2 inches off my waist, lost three inches from my upper left arm, two inches from my upper right arm, one inch from my left thigh as well as my right thigh and two inches off my hips. I somehow gained an inch on my chest.12

I've been packing for a move as well, only I found that all my winter coats are way too big. I just bought one of them last winter and I barely wore because we had a mild winter and I already have to get rid of it. This weight loss thing is getting really expensive. On the upside though, less stuff to move ☺️12 -
Had bad news this week and really, really, really wanted to hit the chocolate (chocolate is definitely my nemesis, I just don't eat it as I know that I won't stop at a piece or two, it's the whole bar/packet or nothing) BUT I resisted. And I'm still resisting as I still want to eat the stuff! I think that the desire to hit the healthy range on the BMI scale (between 7-9lbs to go) is more overwhelming than the urge to pig out on chocolate.20

I tried on a 2x Doctor Who t-shirt my husband bought me a few years ago. I can now wear it without feeling like overstuffed sausage.20

I thought I was the only one who used that expression

Ok-this is really a SV instead of an NSV but I had to celebrate -I'm under 200 pounds! It has been over 20 years since I've been this weight! Wow! I am very close to my GW and feeling great!
Congratulations to all of us for the hard work!37 -
For the first time in many, many years I had a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful clothes shopping experience. Spent 90 minutes in my fav second hand store and walked out with about 15 shirts and three pairs of jeans. The dressing room experience is completely different now - every thing fit and some shirts were even too big. And every pair of pants fit. Wonderful day.32

Unrelated to fitness at all: Repaired the clothes dryer with USD 40 in parts and all of about 30 minutes, most of which was vacuuming out the old dust. Repair guys wanted USD 150 to just come to the house.
Thank you, PartSelect for both an easy parts buying and repair video experience!14 -

I love it! There's something so empowering about tackling these challenges yourself! And that successful feeling carries over into your attitude toward everything else you attempt (like healthy food & exercise). Well done!
So here's my NSV today - I'm starting to enjoy the fresh tomatoes from my garden. A handful of just-picked cherry tomatoes is a great snack - I almost don't miss the carb / sugar junk . And this year the deer didn't eat all the plants down! (To any gardeners who struggle with deer, send me a message and I'll share the secret weapon LOL!).

A woman stopped me in the store to compliment my arms and asked me what I was doing to get them!
Even better that I was wearing a shirt from the girls department!19 -
A coworker friend came over to offer me a homemade egg roll that someone on her team made. I didn't even hesitate to say no thank you, and she tried to sell me on it but I still didn't want it. She left saying (jokingly!!) "How dare you have self control!" XD19

I get offered cake, biscuits, cupcakes etc etc at work a lot. One day one of the managers offered me some chocolate treat and I politely said no, he said 'ohhh come on its delicious" and I said no again. Then he really looked at me and said "you've lost weight haven't you" Iol. I then pointed at my fruit on my desk and said "yep these are my treats now" and he goes "well done!" and thankfully walked out of my office phew lol. Other work colleagues have some kind of takeaway on what they call "Fat Friday" like pizza, fried chicken or fish and chips. They always ask if I want to order even though they know I will say no every time. So my ongoing NSV is to keep eating my lovely healthy home made lunches despite all the temptations.32

I bought capris today in a size 14 in the regular Ladies' Department - not Women's Plus sizes! I was wearing a 16W. At the beginning of the summer, I bought a couple pair of capris/slacks in 16 (not plus), but they are getting big, too. So, today I decided to try size 14 - woohoo! Bought two pair in different styles, so I know it isn't a fluke, I haven't been in size 14 in a LONG time. Yay!32
