Just bought myself a jug! Gotta start getting more water in! How much do you drink in a day? I'm aiming for a MINIMUM of 74.4oz! But on workout days, I'd like to get twice that much!

None, I'm not keen on the stuff.1

I bought a 48oz jug and I usually drink 3 of those a day1

I don't really know...I carry around a 24 ounce bottle and drink it and fill it up numerous times during the day but I've never really counted. I'm hydrated so I'm good.0

I go by pee color. I don't keep track, it's a fruitless endeavor for me.1

I don't measure it. Easily 2-3l of fluids, mostly plain water or chamomile tea. I drink when I'm thirsty, generally. If I feel a bit out of sorts, first thing I do is have a cup of water to see if that helps.2

I drink 8-10 cups a day. That's about one of your jugs.1

I'm sure I drink a lot. It's hot and very dry where I live and I run every other day outside. On most runs this time of year I lose between 2 and 3 pounds (32 to 48 fluid ounces) of water through sweat and breathing. However, I don't track how much I'm drinking. I drink when I'm thirsty and it's not usually plain water. No ill effects, yet!0 -
2-3 L a day, mostly water and a few cups of tea. Usually have a 0.5 L water bottle with me all the time as it's always hot here.0

As water....non.....as coffee as much as my thirst dictates0
-
No idea, but I pee regularly and it's light coloured and doesn't smell funky. So I reckon I'm good. I drink quite a lot of liquids as I'm constantly thirsty.0

I have a 16oz water bottle on me from the moment I get up to the moment I go to sleep. I probably refill it a good 8-10 times a day. Hydration is key!3

120 ounces1

10~12 of the 16 oz bottles per day if not more0
-
I refill my 30 oz. Yeti about 4 times a day0

Just an FYI...too much of a good thing isn't always good & believe it or not you can drink too much water. It can actually make you ill because if you drink TOO much it will deplete your body of minerals. SO, be careful you don't go overboard. I agree that the colour of your urine will indicate if you are getting enough. Clear to pale yellow is a good sign.5

I try and get in 1 gal a day but doesn't always work that way. I average 88-96oz but also go y urine color mostly. I have a water infusion bottle (24oz) and I do aim for 5 of those a day but won't go below 64oz a day. I don't drink coffee or tea or sodas or anything like that, just water with lemon and something different fruits inside my infusion.0

Water is good!! You need it to live!! You do get a lot of water from food but you can't go by the color of your pee.. What if you take medication? What if it's one of Those weeks0

I average a gallon a day. I'll drink 76 oz just over the course of a workout and recovery.0

Define "water". As far as I'm concerned, all my zero calorie drinks* count (mostly water and iced tea) because adding a slice of lemon or some extracts from tea leaves don't change the fact that you're consuming water. I tried counting once and got to about 12 cups/day - and it wasn't an unusual day - so I can't be bothered to track every day.
*Really, all drinks count but the only drink-with-calories I have is milk, and I classify that as food. The whole "8 cups a day" thing is a big marketing ploy by the bottled water companies.2 -
not much. i look at my pee. if it's too dark by midday, i push myself to drink a bit more until they become clear.0
-
I don't even know. I just drink when I'm thirsty. On exercise or hot days I notice the water cooler bottle need to be changed more often.0
-
I atleast drink 2l a day.0
-
Definitely not enough0
-
i aim for a gallon a day, but usually fall a bit short.0

I use 750 ml bottles at work and home. Generally I drink 3-4 of those. On workout days there is an additional 500-1000 ml. But I do admit it is summer. In winter it is less and there is then a lot of tea involved too0

I shoot for the advised 8 glasses a day. When it's hot and humid and I've been out and active in it, then I'll drink more. I think the most I've gotten in a day is a gallon - it was about 100 degrees out and very sticky, so drinking was about the only thing that saved me.
If I drink something like lemonade or juice or non-cola sodas, I will add that to my count. However, I don't count anything with caffeine in it as "water" since... yeah, caffeine acts counter to water. I also haven't been drinking much besides water since I started working to lose weight. My normal juice is really calorie dense. (I'm looking forward to drinking it again when I move to maintainence.)0 -
About 10-12 cups a day plus all the other fluids contained in the protein shakes and drinks, fruit and other things that I consume during the day. So, I'm not worried about hydration.0

Until Monday I was averaging 15-18 bottles a day. I decided that I'd help the environment and bought a water purifier and now carry around a milk jug. I've been averaging about 2 gallons per day since Monday. I feel like this is will be pretty regular for me. Yes I pee all day lol.0

I've never really known the optimum amount of water per day, but I've bought into both the 'gallon a day' and the 'your body weight divided by 2, and drink that in fl oz. I feel better with the latter. I am in the UK, and don't move around all that much.0
