Hey chica! I started this journey at 300 (just shy of my highest weight ever of 308). I'm down to just under 200lbs! It's taken a year and lots of hard work, but it is doable! I've been able to get off of high blood pressure medicine completely and reduced my diabetes meds drastically. You can do this!!11

Hello^_^ I've been heavyset for what seems like my whole life, but could be because I was always told I was fat by my mom that I just believed it(which I wasn't looking back at pictures ) but this year I got to my highest weight 315, in January. oh how it killed me , I promised to never get over 300. As of now I'm 274 and working my way down on the scale . Trying to hit at least 20 more lbs before Christmas time when I get to go home for the holidays. Would love to make some new friends and accountability partners ! Feel free to add or message me ^_^4

Hey Courtney
When I made the decision to lose weight I was 335 to 340 maybe more. I didn't want to get on the scale it would make me sick. I would tell myself at night tomorrow I'll start losing weight. I kept saying I need to lose weight and 1day a coworker said walk at lunch with them. So I did, it started me on that journey to losing weight. There were days that I tried to make an excuse to not walk. My friend would say well if you don't want to lose that weight, then don't. I would think about what they had said and I would then walk that day. I started walking about 3yrs. ago. I'm down to 280 and started back to a gym now. So I feel your pain and I'll try to help you along with your journey. When I say your journey and it is yours, you'll be the one that has to move. The one other thing you'll find along the way is a since doing it for yourself. Feel free to add me, and have a great day. (P.S. Don't ever give up trying to lose the weight)3 -
Hey there, I started this year on Jan 25 at 320.2, I've been going at it hard this year, i'm at 246 right now, and even though i'm not close to goal yet, I've come along way and feel so good!!!! I'll add you of you on my friends list. Worse thing for me is I had lost 126 lb a few years ago and then gained it ALL back, so this is a do-over, so bad, but it had to be done! One thing I can tell you, this is totally doable!!!3

I couldn't agree with this more!1 -
Welcome! I can't wait for you to start your journey! It sucks in a lot of ways, but I think the best part is just knowing you can do it - it truly is hard and when you stick to it, you know there is nothing you can't do. I know you have this in the bag!
I started losing weight about 5 years ago (ugh, I've gone so slow!), right after my 21st birthday. I had gotten up to a high of 240 pounds and felt incredibly uncomfortable. I'd always been heavy set and it had never really bothered me too much. I was active and had friends so it just didn't play into my life very much. I told myself I was just a ‘big girl.’ But after seeing that number, I knew I needed to change. I started with Weight Watchers and lost 40 pounds in the first year.
They tell you weight loss isn't linear and it's true. After the first year, I wavered back and forth in my motivation. There were parties, vacations, BOYS, etc. It has taken me 4 more years but now I'm down to 180. I would still like to lose 25 more pounds, just to know I can get to my goal. But over the course of my weight loss, it really switched from being about a number to being about my life. I do things now I would’ve never imagined before – I go hiking almost every weekend, kayaking, rafting. Even if I could’ve physically done these things before, I just never had the self-confidence to be seen doing it. I lived in perpetual fear of being mocked. The liberation that comes with self-love is the greatest gift this process has given me.
My advice is this – be a like a good parent to yourself. Be strict and hold yourself to high standards. BUT, when you fall, and you will, be there with a kind word, a hug and forgiveness for yourself. Wake yourself up the next day with love and pick up where you left off.8 -
you can do it...It will take work but it is possible1

Knowing that I have already made changes in my life that will last forever, today I insert the final piece of the puzzle. I possess the greatest power ever bestowed upon mankind, the power of choice. Today, I choose to persist without exception. No longer will I live in a dimension of distraction, my focus blown hither and yon like a leaf on a blustery day. I know the outcome I desire. I hold fast to my dreams. I stay the course. I do not quit.

I started at 305 Feb. 14th 2015. I've been in maintenance mode at 185 lbs +/- 3lbs for about 4-5 months now. It can be done, just don't give up! And yes, I likely lost the weight a little too fast, even managed to injure myself a few times pushing too hard but I'm still here. Lots of good people here to help you, don't let one single failure stop you on your journey, happiness at a healthy weight awaits you.3

Good luck on your journey! Find what works for you. Here's is what I did to drop 34lbs so far. I didn't change a thing for the first two weeks and just logged everything I ate. Once I saw what the major calorie contributors were and when I ate them, I was able to adjust just those things and watch my body change. Having a good baseline gave me the right attitude to continue logging every day for the past 217 days (That little streak counter helps). This might work for you and it might not. I have had three different go around's with my fitness pal and the third time seems to be the charm. I rarely exercise but I still lose weight. I eat anything I want just not in the amounts I want. Once all the foods you eat regularly are in the system, it makes it real easy to log them on the mobile app. Start typing what it is and it will pop up. Again, Good Luck and more importantly HAVE FUN!5

Hi!! I'm from Colorado and trying to lose weight also. Just joined golds gym and took my first fitness cardio class yesterday. We can do this2

Hey all! I'm seriously lacking in the motivation lately. Have a good amount to lose and could use some buds with the same struggles. Feel free to add me3

Set very do-able goals. 100lbs is a great goal, but there's a lot of frustration along the way.
When I started at 354 all my goal was to go to the gym 3x in one full week. No matter the week. Then a year later found MFP and the near OCD-level of tracking your steps, food, exercise became fun, because the gym habit was somewhat there..thus, able to build on it and take on new goals.
This is just humble opinion from a guy who had zero discipline and not known to have "sticktoitiveness"...3 -
try working in a bakery and still lose weight!! haha i have losted 2% body fat in 3 weeks. it Take hard work and logging the food has made me realize where i went wrong in the past. since having myfitness pal to help been so much easier to track your daily needs, i also would talk to a fitness person or dietitian about marcos etc so that you get a better understanding of it all. wish you luck, anyone willing to help themselves is already on the right track!!1

I'm 34, 5'7 & 312. Profile pic is my senior English Bulldog.
Single mom & basically my support system is myself, and I think I could be successful with some external positivity & faith.
I'm a bit shy lol

Hey I'm trying to lose weight too. I have tried to do it before in the past and was never successful. I guess my biggest issue was seeing a change in my body but it wouldn't reflect on the scale. I have hit my heaviest at 320. I'm now 300. I'm starting my journey again and I will succeed this time. It is stressful but we all can do it. I just need to not lose focus.1

i started at 267 - I guessed I was 275 and fearful of stepping on the scale... so when I did, I was relieved in a sad way but horrified in another... but anyways! I am down to 207 just by being on here. I can honestly say this works and I know you can do this! Stick to it, create your personal support system with friends, be honest, and you will succeed!
I will send you an add!0 -

I was 380 pounds three years ago and am down to 240 now. I am a food addict who wanted some help by bearing my soul and not hiding my addiction. Bad move on my part. But just hang in there. If I can do it you can do it.
Though today, after the crap I went through for bearing my soul, I did get myself a couple slices of Little Caesars Pizza and some bacon cheese bites.
Oh well.0 -
You can do it! I started at 330 lbs in February of 2015 and have been down to 200 lbs in April, currently in the 215 lbs range. Just find some healthy foods you can eat and ENJOY, and find an exercise that you can look forward to doing, keep at it and you'll be amazed!1
