*!* SEPTEMBER 2016 Walking Challenge *!*
This is continued from previous Monthly Walking Challenges, we are walking into the 9th month of the year *YAY Keep going!*. Each month has its own thread.

Walking seems like the easiest way to start getting exercise, and even if you cannot track distance (or do not want to), tracking time is good too...go for a 10 min walk after dinner, or up it to 30 minutes, you will be amazed at the end of the month how much more exercise you are getting in.
Come back here and just post how far you walked, even if it was to the mailbox on a given day. The important thing is that you are moving and getting out (or if you walked in place in your basement to a video). Sometimes we need a little encouragement in order to do things in life.
Check in everyday with how far you walked or how long. This is just to motivate us to get in at least some exercise every day, and keep an eye on each other. Remember, you can track by steps, distance (miles or kilometers), time, etc.

I did 1.98 miles at lunch today. My Fitbit said I did 2.0, then when I got in the car...it changed to 1.98. Snarf! Oh well, I'm going to see how many total miles I can log in Sept. Yay!4

I'm in. My first MFP challenge. I have been walking with dog and have a very old treadmill that does not show mileage. My goal is 30 min a day 5 days a week.6

I would be in. I've got a puncture wound on the bottom of my foot - as soon as it's good to go I will join. 300,000 or whatever % I am able to do with what's left of the month! In the meantime I will be an enthusiastic congratulator.5

Thank you for leading us on! I benefited from our joint journey in August and am committed to this new challenge. I have a major writing project this month but will do my best to meet the daily minimum of 9000 steps.2 -

Hello from Ontario, Canada! I recently increased my walking. Listening to good audiobooks helps! I'm in for 600,000 steps. Today so far: 22,7384
