I was put on Acetyl L carnitine (on top of other stuff) when I was in competition preparation. Can't say 100% that it was magical and so on, because at the end of the day I was eating at a deficit and exercising like a frikking maniac so of course the weight came off.

Supposedly (according to my packet) it also helps with curbing cravings. I dont know - I was hungry 24/7.

It does give your energy which can help you be more active.

It makes sure you burn your stored fat instead of burning a little of muscle as well as fat.

Carnitine is simply a fat metabolizer. When you're in a calorie deficit you will use a greater amount of stored body fat for energy. It doesn't actually give an "extra kick".

It gave me energy but I saw no reason to continue to take it. I saw no extra fat loss while taking it. I know it gave me energy though because I tried taking it before bed a couple of times.. big mistake.. no sleep those nights haha. The intra-workout drink I use has it in the ingredient list still, and it works fairly well to keep me going during long workouts, so there's that. Just don't expect it to do anything without exercise.
