Had first acquaintance comment on loss yesterday. It's only been ten lbs so far but the fact that someone noticed feels amazing!23

I went to Victoria's Secret to buy a new bra yesterday instead of Lane Bryant. And on top of that, I did not feel embarrassed to let the sales girl look at how they fit or help me adjust all the different ones she brought me. That's completely a first for me. And I still have a lot more to lose, can't imagine the confidence level once I get there!28

Saw the PT I was working with for my groupon and he told me that I have a lot of muscle in my arms. I was telling him how I feel like my arms are fat, and he told me that it is mostly muscle. I felt really good about that.
Side topic: yesterday will be our last session, those rates are ridiculous! $390 for 6- 50 minute sessions. Much too much for me. I wish I had the disposable income for it b/c I really liked working with him, but you know, rent and other bills like insurance and electricity, lol.18 -
I did c210k week 5 day 3 today! Even though I just came back from a 4 day trip (where I ate and drank everything) with a slight cold. I was really hesitant because running 20 mins at once scared me but I told myself, you don't have a fever, your throat hurts but your legs don't, go run!
It's amazing how fast your condition improves at the beginning. The first time I had to run 5 mins it was so tough, felt way harder than today's 20 mins... If newbie gains with weightlifting are remotely like this, I can't wait to start16 -
I bought my first pair of size 18 capris the other day! Down from a 22!!39

6 months ago I bought some jeans without trying them on they were way too small . I put them in my drawer and forgot about them until yesterday. I pulled them out and they are a little too big now, I'm constantly pulling them up. Hahaha I almost missed wearing them at all.22

One of my favorite pajama pants that I used to have to squeeze into and weren't comfortable at all now fit and are even starting to feel a tad loose in the waist!!23

I remember when I did C25K a few years ago how terrified I was of the 20 minute run, because running a minute was tough when I started. But I didn't have a problem with it at all when it came time! That's when I learned to trust the training program. I went on to run a half marathon by training with a similar program. It works if you stick with it. I let that training go so I'm doing other things now, but I still think about starting to run again because I loved how I felt saying wow I really just did a 5 or 7 or even 9 mile long run. It was an unbelievable feeling!13 -
Two days ago, I found myself 65 miles short of an 800-mile total for September. My usual ride is about 25 miles, and on Fridays I do extra as I take my children to a cycling session. So it should have been easily achievable.
Except that when I went out for my cycle ride yesterday, my chain came off. And got wedged. Now, I am more than capable of fixing my bike, but it was pitch black (5.30am) and it was raining hard. I'd only cycled 3.5 miles. So I had to walk home. By the time I got around to fixing it, I only had time for a quick ride (as it was dark) so my total for yesterday was pretty poor and left me needing 48.5 miles to complete today.
Got off to a bad start, I got up late and only did 20 miles this morning. Then at the cycling session, there were too many people there to do my usual distance. But I got out again this afternoon and made the final nine miles to hit that goal!
800 miles in 30 days. May not sound like a lot to the seasoned cyclists but I'm not a professional/hardened/seasoned cyclist, I just love to cycle. I am well-pleased with myself.
October's target is going to be 900 miles. . . my children think that I'm mad. I have the luxury of KNOWING that I'm mad
Oh, and I also walked 154 miles during September as well32 -
I put on my corduroys for cooler weather. they fit nice in morning but as day went on and stretching needed to add a hole in my belt to keep them up.... Almost into size 1413

I haven't seen much in the way of scale victories since the first week of the month.
However, my son picked out my 'dinosaur t-shirt' (from when we went to the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller last summer) for me to wear to work yesterday. I hadn't worn it in a while and it is now very baggy! It was always tight/clingy. I think it is almost too baggy to wear to work, which is a shame because I am almost out of nerdy science t-shirts to wear to work (I work in a laboratory).20 -

Went to the Fair last night and was able to join my son on the rides. I'm no longer the parent on the sidelines, too big to fit in the harness!43

WIth apologies for digressing from your excellent accomplishment, and yea, the whole point of this forum thread:
It makes me sad how many women go through this "arm fat" misconception.
It seems especially common with the supposed "upper arm fat" - you see women hold up their upper arm and wave it around to watch the "fat" jiggle . . . but if you ask them to flex, voila, most/all of the "fat" turns out to be nice firm triceps muscles.
Ladies, please - at least see whether your "fat" firms up when you tense/flex the underlying muscle, before falling into the "I'm so fat" trap. Let's get familiar with our bodies, recognize our muscles whether flexed or relaxed, and feel good about our accomplishments . . . just as @jdhcm2006 has led the way in doing!
(End of li'l ol' lady rant. Sorry.)31 -
I noticed a nice butt in the mirror at the gym and turned around to realize it was the reflection of my own butt in another mirror! Best feeling ever!44

Despite a day of sitting at professional development I met my trophy target on my misfit.
I walked to work. Walked to and from dinner with my son-after driving to his city. He suggested walking a different way home after the resturant dinner.
Worked for me!13 -
I ran my entire 5k run and did so at an average 12min/mile pace, which I previously couldn't do. I'm wearing my grandma's ring on my middle finger again and fitting into clothes from more than a decade ago. It feels like someone else's life, but I'm so glad.23

My midsection is really tightening up! My
stomach and waist have responded pretty well all along to my fitness (and weight loss) regimen.. But my back was lagging behind a bit.. Went to scratch it today and thought THIS is what I'm talking about! Still have a bit more to go but I'm sure that the body weight exercises and more recent heavier weights will continue to make a difference... It seems like the indentation of my spine is deeper.. Don't remember that before..16 -
Scale hasn't budged much - still 3.5 lbs away from my goal - but three more pairs of jeans were put in the donate pile today. At least something is changing, lol!
Also went for a great hike today - first one really since almost mid-July due to holidays and house moving - despite the rain and chill, we managed to hoof through 9kms in 113 minutes.11 -

I love that line "it feels like someone else's life". That's exactly how I feel!
Also, I wore my deceased grandmother's wedding ring for the first 10 years of marriage. Then I had to put it away for the next 25 years. I just started wearing it again this summer. My Nan came from a generation where women did NOT let themselves get overweight. I'm sure she was glaring down at me for all those years that her ring didn't fit lol16 -
1) Spent half the day wondering what kind of takeout/fast food I would indulge in. Ended up making my own low cal lunch, and having 1/2 of the indulgence dinner I wanted. And no, I wasn't depriving myself - it just worked out that way. Thank you God! On indulgenge day, I only went over my calories by 95 cal.
2) So Nutella was banned at my house, because I can eat a jar in a week by myself. But since I thought I could handle it, I bought the first jar of Nutella in years. I prelogged two tablespoons w/strawberries. I ended up only eating one tablespoon and was totally satisfied with my dessert.23 -
I made a deal with a friend that we could get on the treadmil only if i ran/jogged.
I did it!
It was only 5 minutes at 4mph and a 3 hill... But i jogged the whole 5 minutes without stopping!21 -
I ran my 10 mile course in 91 minutes and 35 seconds...that is THREE minutes faster than my previous best time. Cool weather and new, lighter shoes made me fast this morning!18

Let me preface this by saying I started my journey in January.
It's started to get cold and today I wandered to my drawers to pull out a jumper. Ah man. NONE of them fit me anymore! They are all too baggy and not the baggy I can get away with!
It makes me, and my bank account, extremely sad. Awesome at the same time, but sad because I loved my collection of jumpers.15 -

Too funny! Congrats on your loss!3 -
