There was an occasion on this journey when I first experienced the taste and texture of DKB toasted spread with Smucker's Natural Crunchy peanut butter, in which I admitted that I was happy with that, but for the most part I'm not happy-able.
Find God and be thankful for your blessings. You might be surprised.10 -
I'm generally a happy go lucky person as well, but losing this weight has made me happiER. Looking down at a pretty small waist makes me smile every time. :-)2

Oh definitely made/makes me happy....in so many ways other than the obvious health benefits. It made me proud, gave me more confidence, direction, and a sense of regaining control of my life and actions. It's a long, hard journey...but so worth it2

Of course. Nobody wants to be fat.1

Honestly, the lower I get on the scale, the more thick-skinned and confident i become...i could literally be standing on a stage by myself and have hundreds of people pointing and laughing at me/undermining my self-worth and it wouldn't FAZE me...whereas before, one bratty kindergartener pointing out i had "man boobs" ruined my day5 -
Yes and no. When I was heavy, there were aspects of my life that made me happy and some aspects that made me unhappy. I lost 100lbs, and now...there are aspects of my life that make me happy, and some aspects that keep me unhappy. Being fat is no longer something that I need to be unhappy about.7

It definitely boosts your mood and confidence. I enjoy life more and know I can do things I couldn't do before.6

I've always had confidence and charisma, but I felt I could be better, I sacrificed, not eating the things that were making me fat and started trying to eat things that worked for me than against me, exercise became a routine, everyday, anytime I had free time I would do some form of exercise. Now I fit into clothes that I want to wear, and I know when I walk into a room everybody gives me a look at least once, people are more friendly, and it's easy to make friends, I look around me all the time and see so many people out of shape, either because of poor choices in foods, or lack of exercise, lack of correct information, or no desire to try to make a change because they gave up, and said this is it, it's never going to change so why bother. defeated. But yes, it does make me happy, and now I know what to do I will continue trying to perfect what I've been given.3

I think I am unhappy either way. Either I am unhappy because I am fat because I feels so uncomfortable because of all the rolls and weight. or Im unhappy becuase I am thin and boney because I dont have enough padding when I sit or lay down, and cant ever eat what I want or as much as I want and am hungry all the time. its a no win situation. Its just picking the least of evils. "choose your bad" as the saying goes. At least if I am thin my clothes fit better and less tight. Tight clothing is very painful and uncomfortable for me and cuts off my circulation. that or I wear super baggy clothes but I dont realy like that either.5

I haven't hit my goal weight yet, but I'm down 52 pounds. The happiness comes and goes. I still see the fat girl, but other days, I'm like oohh mama who dat girl?! Anyway...no it hasn't really made me happy. People start to notice me more, and look at me, and guys smile at me; which makes me uncomfortable because I hate when people look at me too much because then I get self conscious.9

Yes! It does. I am thrilled when the scale moves down. I am less stressed getting dressed, and looking in the mirror I like seeing the changes I've accomplished. The success of losing weight does make me happy, yes! I also think my mood is better due to exercising daily.5

If my goal is to lose weight and I lose weight then it will make me happy. The actual loss does not derive happiness in itself though.1

I gave the seemingly simple question some thought and came up with the following: Weight loss in and of itself has not made me happy, but addressing a problem in my life (my weight) and succeeding so far in doing so has made me feel accomplished. And that makes me happy :-)16

For me, weight loss makes me happy as I see the scale go lower & lower and my "trend line" in my report on MFP is steadily declining.
Aside from that, the happiness really comes from several other things. Most importantly, I find myself less & less introverted. Where before I would literally want to hide in a corner and avoided social gatherings entirely, I find myself going out more and not feeling like everyone in the room is staring and saying "look at that fat *kitten*."
I've been able to get up and walk and actually WANT to exercise whereas before, I just wanted to sit in my chair playing a video game or staring at some stupid television show.
Since eating healthier and losing weight, my mind is clear. It's hard to describe, but I felt like I was living in a fog before.
Since I stopped eating garbage fried & sugary foods, my skin has cleared up (not that I had horrible acne or anything, but I did get the sugar zits and oily skin) and my sense of smell has improved dramatically.
My "love life" with my wife has drastically improved. I no longer feel ashamed of my body (well, not as ashamed anyway) and I'm more limber & flexible.
Strangely enough, my OCD has really taken a backseat. I no longer repeatedly check light switches, stove knobs or door handles. I no longer feel the need to relentlessly buy things. I used to buy stuff, as much from OCD as from depression when looking at my health. Now the only things I have been buying are a few new clothing items here & there as I lose more & more weight.
I've been able to stop and realize all the good things in my life like my wife and our two daughters, and to appreciate those things more.
There's more that I could list if I thought about it, but I've rambled on enough.15 -
I haven't exactly met my goal I have 11lbs to go but I am the lowest weight and size ever in my adult life. I thought I would be happy I thought life would be better, but truthfully nothing has changed for me except my size. I still have parts of my body I don't like and I'm not extremely happy with the way I look like I thought I would be (and I have weight trained since the beginning). There are other factors of life which make me unhappy that I am now working on and losing weight will not change them.3

I would not say that losing weight made me happy, but gaining it did make me unhappy, so, yeah, I guess. I have reversed the unhappiness.2

my husband is happier lol2
-
oh yes, it certainly does!!! Getting stronger and lifting more, also.3

I'm extremely happy even though i have lost only 2kg. I cant stop taking pictures of myself. I love getting dressed and clothes fit me. Weightloss has made me so happy!2

I'm about 20Ibs from my goal, I wouldn't say I'm happier but I'm certainly healthier and it's made me more confident.2
