How can I boost my weight loss over next 10 days?

OK OK I know. I KNOW that it's all about cico and that I should lose 1lb a week and crash diets don't work. Please don't just repeat that at me. I know it all. I usually eat at a reasonable deficit and lose 1lb per week and this is how I will continue.
However. I have my sisters wedding coming up. I'm a bridesmaid. I'm going to be in family photos and I'm the fattest one of 5 daughters and it sucks OK. I will be the fattest bridesmaid. I will be the fat one. And it really sucks.
I'd just like to feel good...knock off an extra couple pounds...don't mind if it's just water weight. I'd just like to feel nice for this one day and then I will go back to doing it the slow way.
I also don't want to do anything unsafe or weird. But I was thinking I could go low carb?
(Please don't reply with nasty comments...I'm not the first woman ever to want a little extra boost for an event. It doesn't mean I don't work hard and put the work in the rest of the time!! )

Anything you can do in 10 days won't make enough of a difference to be noticed in photos, and would probably make you feel bad or ill for the wedding. I'm saying this as someone in your same position, but the wedding I'm in is about a month away. The urge to crash diet is strong.

Cut more calories. Isagenix has a "cleanse." You basically fast for two days and drink some nasty tasting liquid. I know a lot of people that loose around 7lbs with the isagenix cleanse. I tried it once, and couldn't do it. The flavor/smell of the cleanse liquid seriously made me want to vomit.-8

Im not gonna give you the answer you need.... sorry about that.
Happiness does NOT come with beeing skinny. There is plenty of unhappy skinny people in the world.
The upcoming event is about a big celebration and creating happy memories.
You are already creating bad memories, and chances are that you will look back of this event with some negative feelings.
Its really a path of self destruction. Please dont go down that path. Enjoy the wedding, have fun, and create GOOD memories from it.
Do you really want to have negative emotions around such an event for a couple of pounds?17 -

Low carb might take some water weight off, but if you've been dieting for a while, it probably won't make much of a difference. Getting more exercise might make you feel a bit more fit, unless you get injured while working out, which would really suck.2

I'm going with the others, I'm sorry. But even if you dropped 10lbs of water weight you're not going to see it in the pictures. If you were already 18% bodyfat and did a comp prep 10 day diet, sure, there'd be a huge visual difference. But not in someone overweight.
Best spend the next 10 days trying to feel totally awesome and really thrilled about the wedding and happy that you've been included in the wedding party for the happy couple. They want you front and centre and in all the pictures because they love you now, as you are.3 -

A friend of mine went on a Keto (spelling) diet which is essentially no carbs. Weight loss is dramatic, but with side effects. Hopefully someone with more knowledge about it will chime in.0 -

Try the 6 Week Body Makeover, google it, Every time I have done it I have lost 8 to 10 lbs in the first 7 to 9 days.
You will stall, but you know that, it'll come back, you know that
If dropping a few pounds will make you feel good for one weekend, do it, short term. Best of Luck.

I think I'm just feeling a little cheated because I've worked so hard...I've lost 29lbs but I don't see much difference in the mirror and I am still very overweight. I suppose I feel like I deserve to not be the "big girl" now.

The only thing that can do it quickly is probably water loss. Anything else takes time.
So, try and limit your sodium intake, and sweat out some extra water.
It won't be permanent, and probably isn't a "REAL" weight loss, but it will slim you out a bit until you can properly lose actual fat.
The only way to do it right is slowly, and as a lifestyle. There really are no permanent "DIET" solutions that don't involve a lifestyle, that works LONG TERM!
Enjoy, and stay positive.

you won't like this answer either - but its not all about you. its your sister's wedding. she will be the focus. as others have said, nothing you can do will make a visible difference in pics 10 days from now.13

I drink lots of water and add the following which I feel is really helpful.
In large bottle (24 oz) I add half a lemon, pinch of sea salt, pinch of black salt, cumin seed powder and few leaves of mint and drink every day. I just keep adding water to the mix and make another one in the afternoon. I feel it really keep me hydrated, keeps the bloat away and really good to drink.0 -
Oh and shapewear! Get thee to a department store and get some really really good foundation garments, make the ugly dress a little less unflatteringly ugly. Then go to the wedding, do the pictures and get blind drunk.........14

I thought about this but if she's cat 2 or 3 I don't see how much difference could be made in 10 days, it would mostly be water so I think sensible not to bother with it.3 -

Who cares if you are the largest one of 5 daughters? Does this make you worth any less? How about taking that extra effort and energy and applying it towards doing something that makes you feel great. New shoes, awesome hair cut, new makeup, give yourself a pedicure if money is an issue. Go for an awesome fulfilling hike the day before the wedding.8 -

I didnt say it was about me? I'm talking about how I will feel about myself looking back on photos and I will still have to contend with my mother commenting on my weight and I will still feel the way I will feel in the dress. I wasn't for a second thinking that my sisters wedding is about my weight...obviously...it's about my sister. But I'm not talking about the wedding. I'm talking about my personal feelings about my personal experience at the event, specifically in regards to my body and how I feel about it being photographed and compared to a row of very thin women wearing an identical dress.
So..that IS about me.
However you are probably right, I probably can't do anything to make a difference to the photographs.4 -
First of all, great job on losing 29 pounds!
Second, instead of crash dieting you could try out other methods to look slimmer. Try some shape wear, good makeup or a tan (spray tans work too).5 -
try low carb high fat for a week. YOU will like it3

@VintageFeline --- This is true, to an extent. However, she could possibly "look" smaller due to the lack of carb/water ratio in the body...not to mention, it could actually make her "feel" smaller, which is half the battle of body assurance. I also didn't read into other comments to see what her current stats were. Either way, it will all be okay and she should just enjoy the wedding!!!2 -

I know this is a frustrating position to be in - I've been this girl myself.
I agree with the others. There really isn't anything that you can do to make yourself noticeably smaller in pictures. However, you did say this:I'd just like to feel good ... I'd just like to feel nice for this one day
You can do this much, at least. Do you exercise? Take a walk the morning of. Eat light all day to avoid bloating and sluggishness. Drink water. Enjoy yourself at the wedding, dance, eat the food, be confident. Have a good time with your friends.
This is how you "feel" good for an event like this. I hope that you enjoy the day, and don't look back on it with memories of feeling badly about yourself. It's going to be all right. You are the same person to your friends no matter how you look. This is one day out of the many that are to come. Good luck.1 -
Good shapewear, lots of water and good fats, maybe a spray tan, and good posture. And exercise!
You know you aren't going to lose enough weight to make a real visual difference in 10 days, but you've already lost 30 pounds - friends and family members who haven't seen you in a while are going to notice that you're smaller. Glowing skin, healthy hair, and feeling good about the success you've already had will come across to guests and in photos.6 -
OP... going low carb but keeping your calorie at a sensible level will help shed water weight, but.....it is different for everyone. Crash dieting would be counterproductive, why? Think about it. You can starve yourself up until the wedding then EAT ALL THE FOODS at the wedding. You will bloat, and you will bloat fast and hard in that pretty little dress..... This may even happen with low carb. And if you refrain from eating at the wedding, you may offend the bride or even pass out. Not cool.

Don't crash diet.
Make sure your hair and makeup is ON POINT. Elegant, flattering.

I have photos of me at a wedding in 2009 (I remember feeling huge but LOVED my dress) and I also remember it being one of the funnest weddings I ever attended. In pictures, I am smiling. I am happy. I love looking at those pics!

One word - SPANX
Honestly they can make a visible difference. You will be uncomfortable as all get out but it can make you appear thinner (10b loss on me isn't really noticeable).
The other thing I will say is chin up! You are working towards your goal and regardless of what friends/family say to you, you can't give them the power to take away your hard work or to derail you.1 -
You have gotten some good advice. I second the shapewear and the posture. And relax and smile and have fun. I know exactly where you are coming from. I am one of 5 daughters and it sucks to be the big one. But 6 months to a year (I'm not sure where you are in your weight loss) from now you will look back at the photos and really be able to see how far you have come.2

10 days? I'd say put your attention where it will actually show. Shapewear. Especially a great push up bra. A spray tan visually takes off 10 lbs on anybody. Pedicure. Manicure. Nice jewelry.
To hell with being the biggest one of the sisters. Go to the wedding looking to have fun and create great memories and smile!!5
