anything will help. I would suggest to start where you are and try to improve your time and distance slowly.

I just started C25K (couch to 5k). You can try it if you want to challenge yourself a bit more and can handle running. It has intervals of walking and running. Week 1 is 90 second intervals of walking and 60 second intervals of running. Those 60 seconds go by in a flash. Each week progresses with longer running intervals and you can repeat days or weeks as much as you want.

But there's nothing wrong with what you're doing. Do whatever you can/want to do. If you're eating to lose weight, you'll lose without any exercise at all.

All movement is good. We sit far too much.

A "good" workout for me helps me improve my fitness. That's why @scrapbooking19 is correct. When 20 minutes at 3 MPH gets easy, bump up the speed. Bump up the incline (if you've got it). Do this slowly over time & you will increase your cardio fitness.

Don't forget strength training, that too is a part of fitness. Body weight exercises, pilates, weight lifting - these all can help you preserve a larger percentage of lean muscle mass while you are eating at a deficit.

Body weight exercises are a good place to start. Push ups, planks, squats......

Reigning in your eating is the first and best step. I haven't exercised in 1.5 months but still managed to lose weight by not overeating. It's both harder & easier then you think. If you are not already doing so track your food here on MFP.

Do walk. 20 minutes is a good start. Every little bit helps. Stet a goal that you will walk faithfully for the rest of the year & ramp it up to 30 minutes come the 1st of the year.

Track, track, track & don't try to do too much at once.

It's a gradual process. Take your time. Remember you are building a lifestyle here.
