King 5 News was at Kent Station this morning doing a story with GE while they were passing out the new fangled light bulbs. They don't even need to offer me any because I'll fight to the end to keep my old fashioned light bulbs. Matter of fact, I'm going to stock up on them this weekend.

Welcome!

I'm so happy that our government has solved all the other problems that it can dictate to us how much water we can have in our toilets (taking multiple times to flush....brilliant..:indifferent: ) and what light bulbs we have to use.

In the beginning, our elected officials worked in Washington part-time because they had real jobs and crops to attend to. We'd be better off if they went back to that and left us the hell alone. :explode:

are you talking about energy efficient lightbulbs?

I had one of the old non-efficient light bulbs in my hallway light for over 10 years. The great new efficient kind of light bulb lasted about 2 years. And they're more expensive.

Once everybody figures out that none of this "green" legislation (e.g. Cap and Trade and this light bulb garbage) is about the environment but about government control then maybe more people will wake up.

my mom used the fangled light bulbs so i don't have a problem with it. they use less energy then old ones. the only thing I really miss about new LED ones is the warm glow. there a true white light and is to cold in color for me.

what has this got to do with weightloss? Energy efficient light bulbs will last longer and save you money, i don't see the problem in that :-) embrace the money saving ideas, it may not be a huge amount of energy on a small scale but if everyone does it, it makes a big difference and we need to save on our fastly reducing resources!

I have all energy saving lighbulbs and they are just as good and save me money :-)

also what has it got to do with religion? Are you not all talking about energy efficient bulbs?

the government need to do something to try to make a difference, its really scary the things that could happen and proven or not why risk it?

Its not a hard thing to do, and as annoying as it is to be told what to do its good for everyone :-)

Passing them out is fine. Mimicking the the EU by outright banning incandescent bulbs is stupid. Let he free market decide, not a bunch of govt idiots.

I have some of those curly bulbs that are the same warm glow as an incandescent bulb. In fact, they're the only bulbs that have lasted in my ceiling fans. Others, especially bulbs specifically FOR ceiling fans, would burn out in a month, but I've had these for over two years now.

My only complaint about them is that they take a long time to get to full brightness. When I first switch them on, they're kind of dim.

I personally don't have an issue with the new bulbs, my desire is to have a chose in the markeplace for those who do not like or cannot handle the CFL bulbs. For people with sensory processing disorders, or people on the austism spretum CFL bulbs (and all fluorescent lighting really)can actually cause pain.

Then they should look at LED, they use 75% less energy than CFLs

I would do a little more research in both those topics then make that statement again. I am not about to drag this topic that far off course.

I love my energy efficient bulbs. I also love that it is still my choice to buy them.

these bulbs now have very little mercury, less than a lot of the old fillings that you may still have in your mouth.

One: AL Gore should be thrown in jail for the lies he has spread. Global warming is not proven. It has been proved that the data used to "prove" it was skewed on purpose to back the environmentalist argument.
Two: The sun maybe going into the a stage called the grand minimum which helped cause the last ice age. Meaning there is nothing we can do to control what will happen.

Environmentalism is nothing more than an excuse for politicians to gain more power than what they were granted in the constitution. It is also nothing more than a way for people to feel good about themselves.
