Yikes, lost the rest of my post! Sorry...
Recovering from 2 month stay in hospital, 35 days of that in ICU. Suffered muscle atrophy, had to start with just sitting up in chair; needed assistance to stand. Been home now for 2 mo. and have done in-home PT & OT; now ready to step out to do more as outpatient.
Went into hospital severely overweight; lost about 36 lbs., but gained back about 8 when I started eating again. Doc did not want me losing, told me, "eat anything and everything you want" and "now is not the time to lose: you need to eat to heal". Given that I nearly died, I did as I was told!
Now I am ready to focus more on a healthier me, meaning more activity and a slow weight loss. Anyone else out there in a similar situation? Let's do this together!
