Hi I'm following the ketogentic diet , I'm on week 3 and suddenly I have zero hunger , my bullet proof coffee in the am can keep me going for 7-9 hours without eating , is this going to halt my progress into keto adaptation?

Not at all. In fact, this is absolutely normal where a Keto way of eating (WOE) is concerned. You won't always have days like this, but you will have many days like this so enjoy it!2

Hi. I've just started ketogenic.
Just wondering if you are a simple meal person and what kind of things you eat?
Thanks heaps0 -
Eating is necessary for living. I would recommend you do it and if needbe, drop the fat from your coffee.5

I was going to say something like this. I don't do keto, so this is an honest question - should a cup of coffee with extra fat really make you not hungry for the rest of the day? I get that for some people eating that way keeps you fuller longer, but your body does need you to eat some food, right?1 -

Precisely. Not to mention that if you are doing keto to lose weight then at some point in your life you had to consume enough calories to put you in to a caloric surplus.1 -
We need to eat calories so our organs can function..... You know, breathing, kidney function, digestion, brain function.... My understanding is the minimum is 1200 for this, but possibly higher (maybe 1200-1700). Just sayin'.0

I'm confused by celebrating not wanting to eat more than a coffee with oil in it for an entire day (let alone 4) as a good thing. Seems a really unhealthy approach, to me. Not eating too much is not the same as not eating anything. If you are having trouble eating anything for 4 days, maybe you are overdoing it or something psychological is going on or there's something else wrong.
And if keto really makes eating a chore (I know others for whom that is not so, though), I'd consider that a negative, not a good thing, wow.3 -

All of this. Four days is a bit much. I'm glad you're going to eat tonight.0 -
Yep. I also lose my appetite when my carbs are very low. You would think that would be a wonderful thing but I struggled with it. It was a strange feeling. I didn't even want to look at food. It was difficult to pull myself out of that state. I was able to regain the desire to eat by upping my carbs a little bit with liquids like carrot juice, or hot tea with a generous amount of honey. I am still tweaking my carb levels to get to where it feels just right.
Also, it's not just fat in the coffee, as people seem to think, it is an effect of consuming very low carbohydrates. When carbs are very low it reduces the appetite drastically sometimes it eliminates it altogether.
That being said, this group is extremely helpful. Post in here if you would like to avoid all the unhelpful comments in the main forums. community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group0 -
This seems really unsafe to not eat anything other then a beefed up coffee, or even a protein shake. Are you doing this under a physicians monitoring?0
