Actually, this is the first time I've ever been to the gym.
congrats on making this step
* side note: hubby is intimidated. he's afraid of what you might become and the changes that come with it. that's his issue but it might become yours too. best of luck.
just remember, you can't out train a junk diet (I've tried; it doesn't work)
and.... what are you doing there?
imho; in this order:
diet
diet
diet
diet
weights
diet
diet
weights
diet
cardio (hiit)
diet
diet
diet
I believe he is intimidated as well, but I got him a free month membership to the gym so he could go with me, but he doesn't want too. Yes I know you can't outtrain a junk diet, and I've been eating good foods.
My gym schedule is:
40 mins. Of cardio every day at the beginning of my workouts. I spend 2 hrs at the gym.
Monday: Cardio day
Tuesday: Quads/Glutes
Wednesday: Arms/Shoulders
Thursday:Cardio day
Friday: Quads/Glutes
Saturday: Arms/Shoulders3 -
Your husband is a fool (I was going to use a different word, but I'm pretty sure MFP would have replaced it with *kitten*). Every single day you go to the gym is a success and a gift to yourself that contributes to your long-term health and well-being. Don't be discouraged by your husband's negativity. Keep doing what you are doing, for you, because you deserve to be healthy and happy.2

So this morning I was packing gym bag for a workout later (if I feel well enough, I've been sick for the past two days,) and my husband made the comment of "...So what? You've only been going for a week. Talk to me when you've been going for 365 days."
What?! Okay, I'm sorry.
How hurtful.
I'm trying to change myself, and be happy with myself.
Time for a new hubby
yeah, reading between the lines, the clock might be ticking on this one.
I hope not; I wish her well.0 -

People say many discouraging things when you try to do better I'm learning.0 -
I agree that communication is key, OP. I hope y'all were able to have an open and honest dialogue about what he said and why it hurt your feelings.
That aside, I hope in the moment you had a saucy comeback. Something along the lines of, "Do you like being happily married to me? Because that can change."0 -

That's one way to put the fear of her losing weight in his heart and his insecurities to bubble right up and cause her grief and all manner of sabotage. Because that's what she's looking for, right?

Sorry to hear it. My wife appears supportive sometimes, on certain days when it seems convenient to her. It sucks. She will make crappy comments. I call her out on it occasionally and she acts like I'm stupid for thinking that way.
Move on. Evaluate the rest of your relationship to make sure it isn't just about going to then gym. Try to talk to him. Evaluate again after.
Over all - f@ck him. Do it for yourself.1 -
Sleep on the couch for 365 days lol1

But what if she doesn't feel like it after what he did to her? Then only he gets enjoyment.0 -
Wow. This thread makes me want to find that special someone and get married
