For the people who are ALL ME's so far. Do you wake up in the middle of the night? If so. Do you fight your minds thoughts against the snacks while half asleep? What are are those thoughts? What is thought process? How do you fight against it? Do you just get mad enough at that subconscience other voice? And you just tell him to go to H E double toothpicks??? So what are your thoughts to fight it?? It just feels like I'm asleep when I do this. And its some other person who gets up and eats.

I'm not sure how to classify last night. I bought a few chocolate bars that I thought sounded interesting, all heavy on the cacao. Around 10pm I found myself wondering "what does 100% cacao taste like?" so I broke off a tiny sliver, maybe 50 calories worth. I had a generous calorie surplus from the day too, so to me, it was a total non-issue but for the rules of this thread, I guess it counts as a loss? I'll just take the L.

I just make sure that I have enough calories throughout the day. Then, I plan a snack right before cut off time. When pre-logged foods are done, I'm done. It really just becomes a habit.... I do go to bed early, wake up early which helps. Pretty deep sleeper, never wake-up hungry at night. Exercising and keeping busy all day helps here...
Few questions to think over: Are you getting enough calories throughout the day? Maybe your cutoff time is too extreme? Pre-plan a snack at night within your calorie goal? It's all about finding what works for you. It might take awhile to figure it out.2 -

If I get hungry during the night I normally have a glass of water and it makes me feel full and the urge goes away. I just keep telling myself that I don't need it.2 -

Hi! For me waking up is not an issue, my problem starts at 10pm and lasts until I fall asleep. Right now I've found it helpful drinking warm (herbal) tea or motivating by thoughts of reporting here. I know that at some point it will be a habit and i need to "fight" it for a month. Hope that some of that will help you too!

Yes, I wake up in the middle of the night and my mind says "Just have a small little snack. Low calorie, no harm. Right?" When that happens I remind myself of why I am on this journey and think about what I will have for breakfast and how much I am going to enjoy it. I also keep a jug of water beside my bed which as noted above helps the urge go away. I also remind myself about this challenge, and that really helps.4 -

I wake every night (often a couple of times, I am a light sleeper). When that happens, I get up, go to the toilet, have a glass of water (with diet cordial if I am feeling really snacky), and then go back to bed.
Ways of dealing with it really come down to: 1) having a unplanned, uncounted snack, 2) trying to willpower through it, 3) having a drink, even flavoured or 4) planning a good snack for those middle of the night raids.
personally, number 3 works best for me, but if you really don't deal, then plan a healthy, counted snack, and keep it in a spot where it is not the first thing you see when you wake up, but also isn't near all the things you don't want to eat in the middle of the night. For example keep some carrot sticks on the dining table, but not in the kitchen.
Working on sleeping deeper and not waking is likely to be the best way to deal with this. It may be worth talking to your doctor about causes of the wakefulness and methods to increase your sleep quality.

I wanted to share a very big win for me. As I reached for the mixed nuts... I remembered the NO late night snacking challenge. Gave DH the jar of mixed nuts. DH took it willingly. Went and got my book and read. Thinking.."This too shall pass.." and it did!7 -
I'm definitely in from today forward! Late night snacking is the worst4

10 days straight of logging my food has saved me, it really quells the urge to be bad. A late afternoon snack on Doritos left me missing dinner and still blowing above my daily limit, but it could have been worse.6 -
