I'm in! Dry for seven days! Actually easier to say " no " to my nightly wine habit than I thought it could be!

I am! I've cut all alcohol and fast food (including Starbucks). I'm being more thoughtful about the meals I cook and the snacks I eat, drinking more water, and exercising more consistently. Since the 1st, I've lost 9 pounds... 4 more pounds and I'll be at my goal weight. Yahoo! Beyond that, I just feel better! I do miss my pinot grigio, though!

Anyone doing dry January this year?

I'm in for 2024. I've done it the last two years, and it's okay. It is a little thing. Like making your bed in the morning starts your day off with a win. Dry January starts the years off with a nice accomplishment.

This went over like a wet paper bag....Perhaps I was a bit premature, it might be a New Years Day kind of thought.

You might have a better response starting a new thread than reviving one from 2016/2017. People see the old date and think it's an old challenge, not a current one.

Ah, you are right. I thought it was in the motivation category, not the challenge category.

I’m in. Have been saying I’m doing this for months since COVID (ok, it’s been a few years) and glad to have a a group to join with the same goals.

Good deal....D1-D4 is good so far. I'm taking off on a Vacation later this month...that's going to be challenging.

Sure I'd love to join. I actually quit on 12/28/23 and selected New Year's Eve as my "Soberversary" date. I must confess that I did have alcohol this past Friday, 01/05/24 (a LOT!), but none on any other day so far. I will post daily in the evenings here (counting total days beginning 12/31/2023) to keep myself accountable and will also use the "Sober Time" app on my phone.

    Best wishes to all!

    💗Carole

I haven't had any alcohol since 12/29. I'm aiming for Dry January, also, but it hasn't been easy. Today, I thought about having a drink after I got off of work but that decided not to sabotage my progress. Definitely it's a much needed restart, best wishes to all...

    Good work!

I've been hanging in there too (even through going on a vacation.)

I've been invited to a Feb 11th Superbowl Party...I'll see how that plays out. It feels pretty fresh and clean here on D26.

    Done and done!

Dry January is a fun and challenging little game. It happened, I did it!

    Congratulations to all who played.
