All successes are important! And way to go to everyone who is doing something to better themselves!
I'm specifically curious in this discussion thread to see how many of you out there have lost 100lbs or more. How longs your journey been? Then and now pictures would be great if you'd like to share. What's your ultimate long term goal? Really, anything you'd like to share.
I'm down 120 lbs. Roughly 37 lbs to go. It's been a 3 year process for me so far. I have no time frame goals. And my overall goals have always been to learn to change my habits and my ways of thinking that kept me stuck for so long. And just to be healthy, happy and lean. I shared my story just recently on a thread called - 120 lbs down, 37 lbs to go.
Anyhow I look forward to getting to know some of you. And feel free to add me as a friend.

I lost 150 pounds over the course of about 15 months.
Beginning April of 2013 (340 pounds, 6'0):
Lowest at July 2014 (a bit less than 190):
Unfortunately, I lost focus and got back to 280 pounds in early June of this year. Since then, I've taken a different approach to losing, which has been slower, but consistent and in the right direction at least. Here's a pic I took yesterday weighing just a bit less than 250, my first progress pic since 2014.
To your question of ultimate long-term goal, I'd like to return to 190 or so by the end of the year. From there, I'll look to establish consistency, maybe look for short-term goals as I see fit. Such as, go from 18 to 12 percent body fat, that sort of thing. Or maybe gain 5 pounds of lean mass via lifting, I'll just go with whatever seems appropriate when the time comes.35 -
Don't have pics, but I started in the 230's. I'm F, 46, 5' 1/2". My original goal was 125, which I reached last week. I'm continuing to lose, though -- I'm not sure where I'll end up, but can imagine I could lose another 10 lbs for sure.18

Just hit 100 lbs down for me! 284 to 184. Took me a little over 2 years, some periods working harder at calorie tracking and exercise than others, but it was always a downward trend. I am thinking another 25 lbs will put me close to where I want to be but it will depend on how my body responds to the weight training and what inches I lose, too.

Wow, you lost 130 lbs just with diet alone? That's amazing!7 -
I started this weight loss journey in 2015. HW333, CW161, GW110 I'm 5'1 so 161 still makes me obese lol still some ways to go but I feel pretty damn good, with the exception of the excessive amount of extra skin. Oh and I just had a baby 2 months ago, my 3rd.

You absolutely can do this!3 -
Hey! I have lost 105lbs through my journey! It is tough, but so worth it.
It has taken about 5 years and my goals have changed throughout. I am now focusing on powerlifting and becoming stronger and it has been sooooo rewarding!
The first image is 2 years in apart and the other is 5 years in between

I'm a little past this photo now, but I've lost 108 pounds so far (in the last two years) and would like to aim for 140-160 total. I'm 5'11 and have never been a healthy weight at this height, so I'm aiming for the top of the usual weight range, and will reevaluate from there.

Gem... amazing. We are the same height and have had almost exactly the same loss and to go. Would love to be friends and encourage each other on rest of our journeys2

I've lost 100. I started on weight watchers in 2010. I joined MFP in 2012. My high weight was 304. My current weight is 203. I've been as low as 193 but was looking really skinny fat and had stalled my metabolism.
There has been a ton of yoyoing. I struggled with binge eat really bad. I got professional help and started attending a support group in early 2015 and have not binged since.
Right now I'm focusing on strength training and trying to gain muscle while recomping. I'm getting stronger and my body is changing. It's a slow process but I know I will get there. There is no final destination. I want to keep growing and change my goals every now and then. My ultimate goal is to be fit with an athletic BF percentage.
I finally decided to quit running high deficits and trying to cut. I would just hit a wall every time but I noticed when I would stop tracking I wouldnt go way off track. I sort of intuitively knew how to eat right and enjoy things here and there even without tracking.
Right now I'm basically eating the typical bro diet with a couple of nice refeed meals a week. I weigh and track everything. I shoot for an overall small weekly deficit. I eat about 2600 most days but will occasionally do 2900 or even do a small surplus and go to 3200. I'm maintaining scale weight while looking way more toned and I'm getting to eat so much food!
When I feel like I need a break I just eat at maintenance for a few days without guilt. It's been very challenging but it has totally changed my life. I've always been the shy intellectual type. When I look in the mirror at the gym while I'm lifting I don't even recognize myself. People often don't recognize me if they haven't seen me since my transformation.
It's like a totally different dude is living my life. Everything is better. Depression, sleep apnea, pre diabetes, chronic sinus infections. It's all gone.
I'm a better husband, lover, dad, and friend. I have a deep faith and healthy self image today. It's so much more than just weighing some food and working out. It will literally give you a new shot at life.
So do it!
Lots of inspiration in this thread.
Good job and good luck to everyone!18 -
Amazing stories. So glad to hear it's all possible!

142 pounds lost, took 2.5 years. From 268lbs to 126lbs. Accurate logging of my calories, food scale, and 45-60 minutes of walking or jogging daily. Been at goal weight for 6 months now, coming up on my 3 year mfp anniversary. 1059 day streak
