I know I still need to work on ldl/hdl numbers, but the overall change in just 5 months makes me so happy!
holy cow, you pretty much cut most of those numbers in half.
i have been lallygagging since jan 30th. i remember the exact day because 24 hours later i happened to have a short clearing of the flu fog and dimly registered we were a few hours from 2017. can't say i could even imagine giving a damn at the time and then a week after i got back on my feet, began a new contract.
we were still under a couple of inches of ice, but i bought out my bike and began the commute on day 2. so that's victory 1.
still haven't found a copacetic route to get in or out to this site, but every day since then i've kept chipping away at the problem with a new experiment. victory 2, because eventually i will narrow it down.
i've sherpa'd real food of my own down there pretty much every day. a big mental milestone for me is realising that if it's in the house i might as well take it to work, because once i'm down there i am GOING to eat it, whether i can imagine myself doing it at 9pm on the night before or not. i swear this pleases me most just because it's an actually-logical way of dealing with food, and the grocery turnover/throughput is better as well than when i was acting like food is just an optional entertainment instead of a basic pragmatic thing.
aaaaand my first two weeks back i just did 'been sick' workouts, but this friday i decided with my trainer that if i don't get back on the programme wagon i'm never going to. so we picked a degree of deload and got going. i'm back on 'real' lifting again, and my numbers were better than i expected they'd be, what with catching the lurgy and then throwing all that sudden hill cycling at my poor hips.
i got 7 reps for my 55-pound set at overhead press, and TEN for my 145 deadlift. it was heavy enough but it felt do-able, so i was determined not to stop until i had touched that amrap ceiling. tbh, i was as weak as a cat, and psychologically i really felt cheated by catching something right when i was within touching range of some longer-term goals.
i'm still sulking/sad about it. but at least i've faced facts enough to get started on re-covering the ground.

Today I wore a shirt I haven't worn in about a year, due to the fact it wouldn't fit me. Now it's looser than the first time I had it on.12

I not only tolerated my picture being taken yesterday, I actually encouraged it. And I thought it looked OK! And then I put it in my MFP and Facebook profiles! This is huge for me. I really hate pictures of myself.22

I tried to overeat yesterday. I burned ~1500 calories snow shoeing (almost 3 hrs) and tried to eat them all back and couldn't. Used to go through a large deep dish pizza and I couldn't get through a small one and ate half of it. Ended up about 750 under my calorie limit for the day even pigging out as best I can. Scale still went down from yesterday.40

Friend gave me a package of 4 cookies, instead of just sitting and eating them all at once, which is what I would have done, I had one. And now I have 3 left as treats for this week22

last week I did w7d2 of the C25k programme and felt very out of breath and sweaty at the end of it. Today I did w7d3 and sailed straight through it. And I had the treadmill set to a higher speed! I usually get to about the end of week 7 and then quit before restarting the programme again at a slightly higher speed a couple of months later. I've just downloaded the couch to 10k app because when I finish the C25k I've got a new goal
The scales may not be changing but I'm definitely fitter than I was two months ago!20 -
I have 2 that are kind of combined.
Getting ready at the gym was quite stressful so I am really hoping that I can sort out the logistics and keep going. Surely it gets easier?
I definitely think it does. I have a bag that I keep everything in (gym shoes (my gym is super strict about you changing shoes after you arrive), toiletries, towel and plastic bag). I have a very set routine. When I go to the gym I wear my work clothes on top of my workout gear (stops it getting crumpled). When I get home at the end of the day I empty out the dirty clothes (that's what the plastic bag is for), refill my water bottle, change the towel and add fresh underwear/stockings etc. Then in the morning I put on my workout clothes, put my work clothes on top, grab the bag and I'm good to go.

Can so relate with this post. Started putting up selfies just recently. Wouldn't dream of doing it 70 plus pounds heavier lol9 -
I went to my favorite restaurant yesterday. It is 4 hours away and when I go there I typically eat like I will never eat again. Fried catfish, hushpuppies, pinto beans, pickled green tomatoes, coleslaw, baked potato, and sweet tea. I recently realized I only really love the catfish and hushpuppies. Instead of going in for the full plate, we ordered catfish and hushpuppies. Instead of eating like I would never eat again, I savored each bite and stopped long before I was full. I only ate two hushpuppies. If someone told me before I could only have two, I would have declared them my enemy.30

My next door neighbour commented on my weight loss for the first time.19

Got the same! My neighbor yelled out, "Hey slim" as I was passing his house going for a run. Felt good and weird at the same time :-)15 -
I'm meeting with a powerlifting coach Thursday! EEEeeeee!!!28

I squatted more than I weigh doing 5x5 Stronglifts, and the owner of my tiny local gym came up to me during my rest period to tell me that he was impressed with my progression and that I was killing it.32

Every couple of weeks I get a treat lunch at the local Greek restaurant. They're really good at giving me lots of salad with only a little rice for my meal. Last week, the woman who serves the food noticed my weight loss & complimented me on it and asked how I did it. I told her about MFP, and now she's going to look into it!
Also: new puppy in 2 weeks! Whee! More dog training incoming!25 -
My father, who self-identifies as "completely oblivious" to changes in other people, told me last night at our weekly dinner that: 1. I looked really nice, 2. he could tell I've "been losing some weight," and 3. he was proud of me for doing so.
This is the first time in my entire 35 years that he's commented on weight loss in a positive manner. If he ever did notice weight loss, he usually would say something along the lines of "don't waste away to nothing" or "you are looking sickly/too thin" (note: I've never been in a normal BMI range in my life).
It made our weekly dinner together extra nice.34 -
I did not buy that package of peanut M&Ms from the vending machine.
Stupid vending machine was out of order... Does it still count as an NSV?49 -

I had a similar thing happen to me last week. Tried to get sour patch kids from the vending machine at work, but it wasn't accepting cards and I didn't have cash with me.7 -

Victories are victories no matter the root cause of them. Sometimes we need a little help from outside forces.9 -
I am slowly getting back into the swing of things. This AM I did 2 miles in under 20 minutes on the elliptical and did 24 pull-ups in 5 sets (7x5x5x4x3). Slow and steady.14

I did over 10,000 steps at the Women's March in Washington on Saturday, despite standing stationary for several hours!! WHOOOP!!!50

I did Week 1 Day 1 of c25k this morning and completed all of it! Yee haw!!! If I'd run any slower I'd have been going backward, but I don't care. It was jogging for a total of 8 minutes. I really almost can't believe it. Looking forward to Wednesday.34

The hubby took the kids & I for dinner, then ice cream. I skipped the ice cream run all together! That's huge for me! Declining to take something yummy is totally out of character for me. Usually I would stuff my face with something delish, and then pay for it with a stomach ache later. On my way to creating better habits!19

I remember that day!! I was almost dying by the end of the 60 second runs. I also run so slowly (about 3.5mph) but I now run for 40 minutes 3 times a week!! I NEVER thought I'd be able to say I can run for 40 minutes!!. AND I don't feel like I'm dying but the end of it. It's an amazing feeling. Stick to C25K and stay running as slow as possible and you WILL make it!
Add me if you like, and well done!

I realized that I've saved so much money over the past year not eating out at lunch every day that I can take a week-long cruise in May. Woohoo!
(Also, if my FitBit is to be remotely trusted, I did so much activity on Saturday that I negated 3x my daily calorie allowance.)40 -
This weekend I walked twice. I decided Saturday to see what would happen if I jogged just for 20 feet from time to time. I didn't die so Sunday I jogged for 30 seconds at a time every couple of minutes. That didn't kill me either. This is huge for me because I've been told that due to my osteoarthritis I'll never be able to run but my knees feel fine today. Of course a doctor told me 21 years ago that I'd never be under 200 lbs "from carrying all that weight around all those years" and I weigh One-something.28

Exactly I've cut way down on mindless eating/snacking. Willpower? Not really. I got Invisalign and I'm not supposed to eat with the trays in and I have to brush and floss after eating. Makes me think if that snack is worth it!

I need me some of those outside forces more often5 -

Thanks for that encouragement! 40 minutes sounds super impossible, but so did 60 seconds. By a fluke, my trainer was with me this morning b/c I had to reschedule our normal Tuesday workout. I was so glad he was because he kept telling me, "Slow down!" If he hadn't, I might have bonked, but I didn't.
