Still trying to get the hang of these boards...how do I find my earlier posts without scrolling back?
I've been just scrolling back since I started. I normally know withing a page or 2 of where it should be, then I just control F each page looking for my SN
Thank you. Good to know I'm not the only one!
@snowyne @MNLittleFinn If you're on the website, go to the notifications icon (the bell) and then select "All Notifications" at the bottom. You should get a list of how many times your post has been liked etc (and you can click through to see which posts). Below that click the "Replies" link it will list out all your posts - most recent at the top. Here is direct link to that page: community.myfitnesspal.com/en/profile/comments/
NB: Can't do the same from the (android) app as far as I can tell, but if you know someone has liked your post you can click through the "Likes"/"Awesome" link etc. to find it.
EDIT: Note to self: Stop procrastinating and go out for a run!!4 -

@dkabambe -- Yay! thanks so much for the tip. Enjoy your run!1 -
My little girl got sick so the long Sunday run went out the window! still, I managed 6.24 miles so my balance is 17.78 today. Hoping to get some more lunch time runs in and a few after work as the evenings are getting a bit lighter here in the UK.1

Happy Monday gang!!!
Had to re-evaluate my goal this month. I started at 125 kms, reduced that to 100 last week, and reduced again to 80 today as I want to be realistic. Since I've started from scratch on the running front earlier this month after recovering from my surgery in November, I need to keep in mind that I can't just jump into the same momentum I had before. I'll up my goal next month and by Spring, I'll be back to normal. maybe even before that. I really can't wait until the nicer weather hits so I can run outside again. The C25K app is certainly helping, and I realize that my body hasn't forgotten everything I did to it previously.

Thanks everyone about my Half on Saturday. It was fun but tougher than what I expected. I didn't realize there was over 400 feet of elevation on this half. That was almost as much elevation as there was in my full marathon in December. I knew it was not a PR course and it wasn't an official race, but I still ran it with great effort (almost race intensity). I felt it a little bit this morning as I was a bit sore. But I was able to keep a pretty good pace this morning. I may go for a short run this afternoon or during lunch since I do need to build up my miles.

Even if some or a portion of what is mentioned in the book are things I know or have read before, I'm hoping to gain a new perspective on a few things. I'm specifically interested to read their section on injury prevention. Never can hurt to go back to the basics.
Let me know what you think. It is very basic but thorough. Hopefully you get some use out of it. Again, this was my first book that I got and it helped me develop a good foundation of knowledge at the time.0 -
Woke up in the middle of the night sleeping in a funny position with pain in my left knee - almost as if someone was leaning on it to bend it the wrong way, and an ache in my right calf. It wasn't that bad and was the sort of thing any non-runner would have completely dismissed and was totally gone/forgotten in the morning.
Still suffering with cold so decided on just 8k today. Unlike recent runs where I've either warmed to the task or started fine then hit a wall, today was hard from first step to last. In addition, around 5k started to get mild pain in my left knee and my right shin (rather than calf). I totally suspect these were phantom reminders of night time but noticed in my post-run stretch that my right shin was tighter than usual.
Anyway, despite my average pace being about the same as the last few days it was *a lot* harder and only hit that average by putting in a fast last mile. I say fast but was only HM pace as that was all I had in me - I mostly did that because I was desperate to get home and be done with the run. Have finally admitted to myself I'm not going to outrun my cold so going to listen to my body and take a rest tomorrow, (from cardio at least - may go to the gym for strength work if I feel up to it), and eat at maintenance level next couple of days.
3-Jan: 11.49k [6.7k MP + 4.8k easy - suffering with cold]
4-Jan: 5.3k treadmill intervals [TM]
5-Jan: 12.9k MP (slight hills)
6-Jan: 5.2k treadmill tempo + 2.2k treadmill intervals [TM]

18-Jan: 13.1k Easy

1/1 - Still wasn't feeling up to it.
1/2 - Bodypump, the 2.25 miles on the 'mill
1/3 - 4.5 miles on the treadmill (Trek class). That'll clean your lungs out.
1/4 - Stayed in bed. Lingering cold + a bratty greyhound = not enough sleep.
1/5 - Bodypump, then 2.25 treadmill miles.
1/6 - 4.2 'mill miles. -3° F is way below my comfort level to run outside
1/7 - Bodypump, then 2.25 treadmill miles.
1/8-1/13 - Sick, sick, sick.
1/14 - 3.4 'mill miles, then a quick upper body weight session.
1/15 - Church / family day.
1/16 - Too icy to run, too icy to drive. Barely left house.
1/17 - 4.8 miles on the treadmill (Trek class). Fingers crossed my illness is done.
1/18 - Hangin' at the hospital with my Mom while Dad had surgery.
1/19 - 4.01 miles outside! Woo hoo!
1/20 - 4.1 miles. 37° F at 5 a.m. on January 20? Yes, please!!
1/21 - 3.4 miles on the treadmill, then upper body weights
1/22 - Church / family / basketball day
1/23 - 4.03 miles.

OK. I did something I should have done a few weeks ago. Compare this past December's disappointing RCM results with my very satisfied results from 2015. Interesting comparison.
PLACE GUN TIME TAG TIME 10K HALF 30K AGE
221 3:38:05 3:37:59 49:02:00 1:43:40 2:29:17 43 (2015 Rocket City Marathon)
252 3:44:46 3:44:41 47:09:00 1:40:53 2:30:52 44 (2016 Rocket City marathon)
So even though my overall time stunk this year, I managed to better myself by almost 2 minutes at the 10K and almost 3 minutes at the half. Then it went all down hill. I know my paces started way too fast as I was trying to keep up with the pacers. For a 3:20 finish, my overall pace should have been a constant 7:38 min/mile. What I ended up doing was (according to my Garmin results):
Mile Split Time Cumm Time
1 7:29.4 7:29.4
2 7:32.9 15:02
3 7:29.0 22:31
4 7:34.6 30:06
5 7:36.0 37:42
6 7:23.7 45:06
7 7:37.2 52:43
8 7:32.9 1:00:16
9 7:30:8 1:07:46
10 7:48.1 1:15:35
11 7:46.8 1:23:21
12 8:03.5 1:31:25
13 8:08.7 1:39:34
14 8:02.0 1:47:36
15 8:39.0 1:56:15
16 9:06:8 2:05:21
17 8:52.3 2:14:14
18 9:16.8 2:23:30
19 9:03.9 2:32:34
20 8:45.1 2:41:19
21 9:33.1 2:50:53
22 8:33.2 2:59:26
23 9:32.2 3:08:58
24 10:19 3:19:17
25 10:48 3:30:05
26 10:10 3:40:14
.48 4:31.9 3:44:46
So I ran my first 9 miles on average 6 seconds faster than what I should have. It may not seem like a whole lot, but it can make a big difference. But I killed my half time from last year. lol6 -

@snowyne @MNLittleFinn If you're on the website, go to the notifications icon (the bell) and then select "All Notifications" at the bottom. You should get a list of how many times your post has been liked etc (and you can click through to see which posts). @snowyne @MNLittleFinn and @dkabambe - Another way to find your posts - from the web (not sure on the APP) when you are in a topic like this Challenge, there is a little magnifying glass search icon next to the page number list. If you have a specific word in your post then you can use it to search on. For example, I typically include in my workout summary a note on the days I have agility or rally class and I can find my previous posts easily by searching for one of those words....4 -

Hello gang! I've been a bit busy and missed quite a bit. On top of that, I didn't even get to run over the weekend. I did get a 7 plus mile walk on Saturday though. This morning's run felt good after 2 days off. My tights appear to be getting a bit loose which is both good and bad...good because I am still getting smaller, but bad cause it means I have to keep pulling them up now!
Have a fabulous rest of the day!
