What are you pulling for? Competion? physique? demented enjoyment? I mean if you are competing do the one you are strongest at, otherwise, do them both as they are tremendous lifts that hit different muscles in different ways.

Doing it for the gains. No competition, just trying to get a decent physique

I've been doing conventional since I started, and just watched a video on sumo technique. Do the legs (quads) get hit harder with sumos? I was wondering what the benefits are...

am i wrong to think that conventional and sumo dead lifts hit different muscles? I always thought sumo hit more of your inner thighs than conventional did.

You are basically correct. They'll use the same muscles, but in different proportions. As you mentioned, the inner thigh tends to get hit harder in sumo, while conventional tends to hit spinal erectors harder. Just as a couple of examples.

I like conventional for lower reps and sumo for 6-12 reps.

Ha! I'm the exact opposite. I pull conventional on my lower weight sets and sumo on my highest weight/lowest rep sets.

Conventional dad here lifting with my ego. ;)

Wasn't trying to offend any of the dad-lifters or young guys!
The fact that you know it's called conventional makes you more qualified than most of the people at my gym lol ;P Many days I get a bonus eye-roll workout.

It's the best lifting accessory @TresaAswegan ;) What is your eye roll PR?

Since I pull conventional, it's appropriate that I prefer brisket.

Su-ventional. I'm a bit of a combination. My legs are wider like sumo but the actual pull is more like conventional where it's more back and leg drive and less hips and hams.
