Any weigh in rituals?????

Just wondering if anybody has any? I usually where the same outfit every time I weigh in. Honestly, I've seen better losses in the past if the day before weigh in is a rest day. Does anyone have any other rituals they do?

Go to the bathroom, take off clothes, step on scale while holding my breath (LOL!) then I weigh my foot or leg only to reset my scale and then step on it again (usually shows a small change). For some reason my scale always needs to "reset".7

Wake up, pee, weigh, then into the shower. All in the buff, so no need to worry about a weigh-in outfit haha7

I make sure I have a low sodium day in the 24hrs before my weigh-in! Otherwise, I don't do anything different. i weigh in first thing Sunday morning. With occasional sneaky peeks during the week...4

Makes sense. The water retention from muscle repair has had a chance to calm down.
I weigh daily, nekid, after I go to the bathroom, before I eat or drink anything (if I do by accident I don't bother weighing).
Then I log it on my weight trending app...interestingly I just notice that lately I've been having a small whoosh every 10 days or so. My graph is looking pretty lately4 -
Yup...the following must happen for me to step on the scale.
1. Naked
2. First thing in the morning after I go
3. no wet hair
4. no excess sodium the day before
5. no exercise the day before
so the planets must all align...and they don't often so I get on the scale usually about once every 2 or 3 months...4 -
Lol I have
Every morning: I go to the toilet, and drink two cups of water while sitting there. Then I weigh in wearing panties and t-shirt, while I make coffee. I step on the scale twice just to make sure I get a correct reading, although it always displays the same number both times. I log it in Fitbit, and every Friday I calculate the weekly average. I have been steady between 55 and 58 kilos for 98% of the last 25 months1 -
My "ritual" is pretty straight forward:
1. Get out of bed
2. Remove all clothing
3. Empty my bladder and bowels (on a toilet, of course!)
4. Weigh
My daily weigh in then gets automatically synced to Happy Scale.5 -
Every morning after going to the toilet and before eating/drinking anything. Naked, and after putting just my foot on it first to 'reset' it.2

Great thread, I've been wondering this myself, as I have a few rituals from when I was losing...
Day before:
- no new exercise (I do exercise, but I try to do something that I'd typically do to reduce the chance of excess water retention)
- ensure I get enough fiber, or at least have some corn or popcorn in the evening.
- watch the sodium intake
- get plenty of sleep ~ at least 7-8 hours.
Day of (always Fridays for record):
- prefer to weigh in mid-morning (I noticed my weight dips around 10-11am, and is heavier first thing in the morning)
- only drink coffee before weighing in
- go to the bathroom beforehand (try to do both before weighing - fiber the day before helps).
- typically weigh in in my underwear
- step on the scale until I get the same number three times (my scale has always been a bit flaky, and no it doesn't need a new battery - I think it sometimes depends if I step on it in the middle or if I've stepped on it a bit toward the back).
- same day, I also take my measurements - neck, shoulders, chest, waist, hips, biceps, thighs, calves. I used to take them after weighing in, but now that I weigh later in the morning, I take my measurements first thing in the morning.
I'm a bit more lax now that I'm in maintenance mode.1 -
i weigh every morning, after using the bathroom, no clothes. and i step on the scale three times because mine also sometime needs to reset and will change between the first and second time, and then of course i need a third time to make sure that it doesn't change again. or, if it went up, to hope it somehow goes back down. it doesn't. then log into happy scale.2

Each weekday morning:
Wake up, undress, use toilet, shower / shave, dry off, weigh, get dressed, grab coffee, take medications and supplements, head to work.1 -

I told my friend all the things that can affect your weigh in (salt, exercise, tom, ovulating, etc) and she replied "so basically your weight is right every third Tuesday at exactly 2:53?" Yes.8 -
No special rituals for me. It's more like a habit. I wake up every morning, go to the bathroom then step on the scale and that's it. After counting calories for so long I kind of blindly trust the process, even if I'm wearing a 3 pound sweater that spikes my numbers up.3

Use the bathroom. Take all my clothes off including Apple watch. Pray. Weigh.7

This. Not quite naked, but underwear. Have to reset it daily and it's still giving me the damn same weight all week. The it's on the treadmill for a 1/2 hour.0 -
Mmmm....maybe not a ritual, but I hold my boobs up when I weigh myself (like it'll take off a few pounds) hahaha9

Same here, except I don't have an Apple watch.3 -

HAHA, that thing weighs a lot, much heavier than my fitbit!0 -

Haha, same here. I refuse to put my apple watch on until I weigh!

No rituals. I work out of town and weigh at home on the weekend. I do often see a drop between Saturday and Sunday, especially if Friday's dinner is carb heavy. It could be a little extra sodium from eating something on the road but I figure it is mostly from exercise.1

The only ritual i have is that i will not weigh if i haven't peed AND pooped, if the latter happens during or after my first cup of coffee, then i put off weighing until the next day. I'm pretty regular, usually within 10 minutes of getting up, so i don't have to putting off weighing too many times during the week.0

Every day, first thing in the morning, after peeing, naked. Weigh 2-3 times until I get the same weight/BF% twice. Record in Libra for trending purposes, go on with life.
I've been weighing myself daily for years, even when not losing, so fluctuations don't freak me out. I know what causes them, usually can predict them within reason, and can reliably estimate how long before the up-fluctuations will drop off again. It's just data.3 -
I weight in a bra and panties just after I've dried my hair after my post-workout shower on the premise that I'm slightly dehydrated after a workout. I use the old fashioned heavy-duty health-care counterbalance scale (so no scale error!) in the locker room.
I also always slide the counterweights to my maintenance weight BEFORE stepping up on the scale (never step then slide . . ) on the premise that . . oh, hell, who am I kidding-- no premise, just entirely hocus pocus ritual.3 -
Does taking a wizz before count?1

yes...I usually have a very full bladder in the morning.Yup...the following must happen for me to step on the scale.
1. Naked
2. First thing in the morning after I go
3. no wet hair
4. no excess sodium the day before
5. no exercise the day before

and yes she is correct hence why we shouldn't put too much emphasis on it and why some of us have such drawn out rituals...overrated bathroom scales are.2 -
I try not to do anything different than my normal routine otherwise I feel it's not an accurate weight. My weekly Monday morning routine:
1. wake up
2. strip
3. have a wee
4. step on scale
5. curse the Twinkie Gods for their interference
6. step in front of full length mirror
7. sob uncontrollably and shake fist at the Lords of Gravity6 -
Pretty much the same as everyone else. Toilet, Get naked, Step on (Cry if I'm not happy with results)2

I guess im the only one who steps on the scale with clothes on? I get up in the morning and use the restroom and step on the scale with my pj's on. I might test the water retention after a workout/rest day and see if that actually matters for myself, though. Never considered that to be a possibility.0

Consistency is really the key. The actual weight isn't important just that the scale is going in the right direction. First thing in the morning on whatever is your weigh-in day. I record daily.
Been stuck at one weight all frikken week. Bit of an expected bump up because of Superbowl (my bump is always 2 days later, so Tuesday) then right back to that same damn weight. Finally whooshed this morning (1.9 lbs different than yesterday) but god it gets frustrating.2
