The Good Housekeeping website which is weird because I never normally look at it!
So glad I did :happy:0 -
I was looking up calories in different junk foods for a health class project on google and this popped up. I've used it ever since0

HA! I don't remember how I found it- surfing I guess for fitness/health sites. But I'm glad I did find it - it's no wonder I've been fighting this so long, I'VE BEEN DOING EVERYTHING WRONG! lol and also alone - I'm glad I found MFP & the support system (and the food/exercise journal is awesome!)0

A columnist for the New York Times wrote an article about how he lost weight (I think 60-80 lbs in a year or so) and started setting fitness goals and the community-based approach was the key....he actually recommended another site too....something more fitness (less nutrition, diet or none)....as the two sites he liked.. SO glad I read it when I did!!0

A lot of the folks on the C25K forum used MFP tickers, and I wanted a ticker too. Then I started actually using the site, and the rest is history!0

I was pointed here by a friend (who has since stopped using MFP).... not sure she was that serious anyway.
I actually found the site before the app.0 -
My dietacin recommended it as a way to track my food habits. I don't have the best handwriting and i allways thought a food jorunal would be way to much work. MFP makes it so easy and it's great to know that there are others whoa re going through the same issues i am.0

I had used MyPlate off and on...tried getting their app for Android. Found it was no longer available...hadn't been for months. In the gripe thread about the lack of an Android app...someone mentioned MFP and how great it was...how great the app was. Here I am! Love it! :-)0

I was looking for an ipod app to count calories. I had lost 17 lbs on my own and hit a plateau. I needed to expand my resources. So I did!0

After having an angiogram I kept a record of all my meals simular to this program in my daytimer. I would use the database for calorie and nutrition facts at times. Then about thirty days ago I thought hmmm ok I'll join and see what it is. For awhile I still kept everything in my daytimer and here. But now I just use the program. This has made my life so much easier and I have met many good friends too!0

A personal trainer at the gym suggested it to my husband, although he hadn't tried it himself.0

I had an app that was called "lose it" too, but I suspect mine was different because it didn't count calories0 -
Belonged to Loseit.com and had their app but the food database is horrible and extremely limited. eg. Kraft wasn't even in there at all. So I came here on a recommendation from someone from there.0
