How many pounds did you lose before you dropped a pant size? Also, I guess height and frame size make a difference too.

Depends on what size you start at. If you're talking size 24 down to 22, someone might have to lose 30 lbs or more to drop a size. But when you're relatively lean, say 12 heading for 10, it would take a lot less, perhaps 10 lbs or so. It varies from person to person, of course (we don't all lose weight in the same places at the same time!) but in general the higher your original size, the more weight you'll have to lose before you need a smaller size.
In my case, I didn't really notice because I started out pretty big and wearing elastic pants and dresses. I have wide hips even at a low weight, so even when the elastic pants got really loose my hips kept them from just falling off. But I have probably about 10 lbs between sizes 32 and 30 (the jeans I wear are measured in inches rather than the weird American sizing) at my lowest weights.5 -
It's been a while so I don't remember specifics, but I'm pear shaped and losing around 50lbs brought me from size 14 jeans, down to size 4s (current weight 128lbs).0

50 to drop a size and even then I probably really had no business buying the smaller size but I refused to wear a larger size anymore. Really depends on your body type and how you lose. Previously I had lost weight and was going down sizes like crazy - I was way smaller at a larger poundage, but then I gained most of it back and the second time around I was much much larger even at a lower weight.0

85 pounds down and iv only lost 1 pant size XD LOL its weird because my legs slimmed right up but this booty wont go away -.- had to start wearing leggings to avoid loose on the leg jeans and over tight booty. Have to wear jeans for work xD1

15 lbs got me from squeezing into an XL to fitting an XL. Another 13 lbs got me down to a large but not yet a medium.0
-
Totally depends on body type, current size, and the cut of pants. I usually noticed that my dress size went down first1

10 to 20 pounds. Stretch garments can last me through almost 30 pounds though!1

I lost 3 sizes while losing 15lbs but it's not consistent throughout brands and styles.
I'm 5'3" pear shaped as well.
Starting weight: 157
Current weight: 142
I lift and eat at a small deficit.0 -
Generally 10 to 15 pounds. This has held true for me throughout my weight fluctuations between 130 and 200 pounds.0

Believe it or not there's have been extensive studies done in this. My company did one to develop the mannequins we use to fit clothes. I think we scanned something like 10,000 bodies to map body growth between sizes. When you are in regular woman's sizes 0-16 or XS-XXL it's generally about 10 lbs per numeric size and up to double that for an alpha size since they purposely cover 2 numeric sizes. Changes in alpha sizes are little less predictable because a size 8 is the smaller range of a M and a 10 is on the higher side. Obviously if you are on the lower side of a M losing 10 lbs could make you a S. Same variation applies to numeric sizes. How your body is shaped and how it gains/loses fat also plays into this equation. You may drop short sizes faster than bottom sizes if you are more bottom heavy and visa versa if you store your weight on your upper body. The incremental changes between Plus sizes are a little wider because there's even more variation of body shapes in the 1X-4X size range.
This is just a general rule of thumb based on how patterns are graded between sizes. Every company sets the measurements for their sizes differently. (I know, it's annoying. It annoys me too). Generally I wear a 6/S but I can be a 4 at one company and need and 8 or 10 at another. My best advice is don't get hung up on a size, buy what fits because the sizing is not regulated or consistent. The numbers don't really mean much- you can trust me on this one, I've spent 15 years measuring clothes for a living15 -
Probably 15 pounds? I went from a 14 to a 6 pant size in 7 months losing about 55 pounds.0
-
I went from 225 to 195 (I'm 5'1") and I went from a 20 to a 16.0
-
My weight has fluctuated over the past 5 years because of recovery from surgeries and having a baby, I'm 5'6'' and pear shaped for reference.
155 - size 10
145 - size 8
138 - size 6
132 - size 4

iv went from 20 higher to 20 lower and still no change wtf is wrong with my body LOL0 -
I've lost nearly 16lbs and not dropped a size yet. Started a uk 20 and still am. I do have to opt for elasticated wait trousers now though as my jeans drop off but the next size down won't fit my hips (my waist is there).
I have a feeling last time I lost weight it was about 15lbs a size for me once I got under 200lbs although I got to 160 and was still a 14 whereas my sister got there and was a 12...
That's before you take into account that each size is totally different in different shops.

Also some stores have pants that are made for people whose dimensions are a little uneven. I have a small waist and large hips. If I buy pants to fit my hips I have to go a size up and they're baggy on my waist. But if I buy pants in "curvy" sizes I go down a size and it fits my hips an my waist.
Also keep in mind every brand is different. From some stores, a 16 is falling off of me and yet at another store I'm an 18.0 -
I was a size 16 (236 lbs) in 2013, size 14 (200 lbs) majority of 2015 but I did get to size 12 near the end, then a size 10 (185lbs) in 2016. I am a size 8 (154lbs) now and they're baggy but I refuse to buy any new clothes until I'm done losing.0

I think it depends on lots of things such as starting weight, body shape, where you're losing the fat from...
I've lost19lbs and haven't gone down a pants size yet. When I compared photos it looked like the loss had come from my shoulders and back. So instead of trying on pants I tried on some dresses and found I'd gone down a dress size.1 -
I'm 5'3" and started at 202, a size 2x top, and either 18w or 20 pants depending on the brand. I've lost 36 pounds and am generally a 12 bottoms and L top, but some 12s are still tight. I'm very apple shaped-right now my non-stretchy 12 Levi's jeans are tight at the button and loose in the butt/thighs.1
