I walk on average 16000 steps a day with no exercise . On days I workout I run 4-5 miles or spin , elliptical , etc. where should I set mfp to ? Should I put sedentary and then just add exercise calories ? Thanks so much for your help

Don't confuse activity settings and exercise - separate and distinct entities on here.
You put in your correct activity setting and add exercise. Sedentary means mostly seated and you clearly aren't!!0
