Hello I've been hearing/reading good things about the ketogenic diet. I would like to hear from those who are doing it. What is the best book or website that you can suggest? So far all I know is that it's very low carb and involves meat. So I'm a little clueless and would like some guidance. Thank you!

Hey there, a very helpful website I found was www.ruled.me . This website has sections that explain how the diet works and has a macro calculator on it as well! There are a tonne of great recipes to help get you started. The ketogenic diet can take a little bit to get used to but if you stick to it and keep your macros in track, you'll feel great! There are a few variations of the diet, which the website also explains very well.1

And check out the LCHF group. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group The biggest key take away for me was keeping fat high! Your protein should be moderate. My macros look like this: Carbs 5-10% Fat 70% Protein 20-25% Good Luck!1 -
Keto Clarity is a highly recommended book as well as The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living. Great places to start.0

All the sites suggested are fabulous. I would suggest checking out Dr Jason Fung and Dr Sarah Hallberg on YouTube.
I've been eating a ketogenic plan for almost 2 years. I can't even imagine going back to a traditional food plan, the benefits to my health have been truly life changing. Lost 130#, cholesterol levels are in healthy range, they were not healthy before and LDL has gone down over 100 points. Off of multiple blood pressure medications and pre-diabetes is no longer an issue. My endurance and stamina has increased 10 fold, which of course, can be attributed to weight loss alone.
As with any changes, I'd suggest getting blood work and a general physical before starting then after a few months have the blood work repeated to see the changes that are taking place.
And there are vegetarians that have undertaken a ketogenic diet with great success, for vegans, I would imagine it would create quite a challange.2
