I've struggled with weight all my life. I was constantly going on different diets all throughout middle school and high school, but none of them ever worked. When I started using this app, I weighed 188.2 pounds, currently I'm 169.8 but I've been this weight for a couple weeks now. I'm 19 and not currently working right now, so I don't get a lot of physical activity in. I'm not very active, most days. I know I need to get more active, and I plan on starting. Could the weight I lost come back because I didn't loose it with exercising? All I've really been doing is eating 1,200 calories sometimes less a day.

Congrats on the loss so far! If you haven't lost scale weight in a "couple" of weeks its ok. Could be TOM or diet related (sodium, carbs). The good news is you don't have to exercise or be active to lose. You just need a reasonable calorie deficit. Are you weighing and logging everything you consume?

Thank you! I've been logging everything. I was due for that TOM a few days ago, but it hasn't started.

Just counting calories is the best "diet"! I stall out occasionally too. Just keep it up! If you keep your calories under control, you'll get there. Do you have a Planet Fitness in your area? It's a really good gym!

The weight I've lost so far all came off with just cutting calories. Just like you 1200 or less a day. I only gained some back over the holidays because I ate over maintenance. I'm trying to get more steps in a day but that's pretty much the only exercise. It was slow though, on a good week I'd lose 1/2 a pound. Many weeks I just maintained. Good luck you got this. :)

That's good loss so far! Just keep at it! Sometimes you just stall for a bit. Add something new to your exercise regime or maybe change up your diet a bit, do something new, get excited about it and the results will commenced once more given you do everything the right way.

Just remember weight loss isn't linear. Have patience.

Hang in there. You're body has probably adapted to the low calories. I recommend finding something you enjoy doing (walking, cycling, tennis, etc.) for 2-3 times a week. In my opinion, diet or exercise along won't work, you need both. And you look great and don't stop.

Not true at all; only a calorie deficit is needed. You can achieve that through just diet, just exercise, or both. Both are recommended for optimal health and aesthetics, but you don't "need" both.

Well done so far my weight stalled for over a month but people kept asking me if i was losing weight when i checked i was losing inches but maintaining my weight which i was just as happy with .
as said above calorie deficit is the only way to lose weight just keep doing what you are and try going for short walks .
Get a step counter and see if you can beat you step count each day remember this is a lifestyle change and it takes time keep it up and you will get there.

Glad to see you achieving your goal! I want you to write down why you want to lose weight, what is making you strive for this, what is your “WHY?” Then hang this on your wall, anytime you do not feel motivated to exercise look back at what you wrote and try not to cheat yourself. I know you can achieve your goal, just keep working at it!
