If this thread is still around in 17 months, I'll tell you my story. Gotta wait for the Statute of Limitations to expire.

A happy ending foot massage. My friend and I might require supervision next time we go to Vegas.

Badassgymprincess...i glad you had a wonderful time, as always one friend out of The bunch should be the responsible one (Sober) to enjoy Vegas while drinking. :)

I went for my 21st bday. We were at the Luxor and I ordered one of those gigantic margaritas for my initiation. I hadn't had even one drop of alcohol yet, but went to step out of the booth and fell flat on the floor. Super embarrassing and everyone looking at me like, cut her off, eye rolls. I didn't go back for almost 15 years.

Thesunmoonandstars...Well I will be in Vegas this Sunday, March 5. I hope I do not experience this while I have my Talk Margaritas too. :p

I actually just got back from Vegas for my birthday. The very first thing we saw was a woman pulling dirty diapers out of her pants at a bus stop. Other than that, it was like Disneyland with cigarettes and booze. Meh.

<<I did get a pic with the Golden Goose sign like I wanted- minus all the strip club adverts below it.

Denversillygoose....oh wow, besides the dirty diapers I hope you have a wonderful time in Vegas

I'm going in October for my birthday.
Last time I was there I wound up shooting a cops gun in the car park behind a bar because his brother had messed up my drinks order in Boston 3 years previously.
    Absolutely true story.

Went to Vegas a year ago. My family and I had a great time and we really enjoyed an off-the-strip casino called Ellis Island Casino and Microbrewery - bad Elvis impersonator and all. $17 HUGE prime rib dinner that was awesome.

HOWEVER - One thing that really surprised me about Vegas, and ultimately irritated me is, you have to pay to sit down. Seriously.
    • There are no benches to sit on on the sidewalks
    • The fountains have various sorts of spikes in their edges to prevent sitting
    • low fences are topped with spikes
    • As soon as you finish a beverage or food you are getting pushed back into the casino, even if the restaurant is nearly empty...you have to buy another overpriced drink for EVERYONE in order to stay
    • Obviously can can sit when you gamble...but that usually costs

A few years ago my youngest son was in his twenties working in NYC. He arranged to meet a female colleague from the London office for a weekend in Vegas.
They had a tiff so he went out by himself, partied and found some other female companions to party with.
The next morning when he awoke the London girl was GONE. Before she left she ruined his phone, took all his money and ID.
He git back to NYC and learned a valuable lesson.. "Hel hath no fury like..."

In 2004 I ran off to Vegas with my childhood friend and got hitched. 55 hrs later I got it annulled. This was the start of some wacky behavior ending in me striking an SUV with an umbrella and shaving my head.

All is good now. My hair grew back and I have a residency at Planet Hollywood in Vegas where this all started.

Could have happened to me, could have happened to Britney Spears. I've never been to Vegas so this is my only point of reference. Well this, and an episode of Full House where DJ got in trouble for pulling the lever on the slot machine and Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky almost got eloped.

TheRealSlim_Shelly39014932....lol. I'm pretty sure this, was Brittany Spears situation.
Refreshing to know this did happen to her awhile back.

I know a number of people who went there for professional reasons to wait tables and tend bar. They pretty much all became home owners and enjoyed a standard of living that's fairly hard to come by doing the same work in other cities/states in the U.S.

    Newmeadow...wow Good insight to know.
    Thanks!!!

Mine is not real exciting but my favorite part of my first Vegas trip. I was there with about 20 others I know, 21 years old. One night I needed to get away from everyone that I knew. I took off and explored the strip on my own for several hours. First time I had ever explored a new city on my own and Vegas to boot?! It was an empowering, fun, confidence boosting, amazing night. I talked to so many strangers, saw so many things. I kinda want to go do it again.
