Women's clothing have "vanity" sizes and differ from maker to maker. Who cares what size you wear anyway? Unless you're wearing the label on the outside, no one can really tell.

I dont know, but I'm 5'7" and 162 lbs and wear a small in tops, despite being an F cup. I wear an 8 in jeans. Clothing sizes make no sense.0

Clothing sizes make no sense and you can't go by them at all.
At my most slender, I was around 135 pounds, wearing a size 2 in shorts, a size 4 in jeans (some were a 2, depending on the brand), a size 4 in my business suit pants and a size 8 in the business jacket.
Some of my t-shirts are a medium and a little tight and some are an x-small and are loose.
You can't win. Just buy what fits.

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm already in a Medium or a Small and I have another 25 pounds to go. Not that I'm complaining!! I can now go to any store and buy clothes. I've gone from a size 26 in pants to a size 10, and a size 5X to a Med or Small in blouses. You look awesome, by the way.1

I was size large top at 232 and im size large at 150.....life is unfair to me XD My body shape means its either waaaay to tight on chest to fit my waist or fit my chest and loose and hangy off waist....Occasionally ill find a top i can fit into medium XD1

I do not from what country you are, but when I was in the USA (I am from Europe) I noticed that clothes are a lot bigger there then in Europe.7

We all wear our weight differently. I'm 5'7" as well, and also wear an 8, but I weigh 22 pounds less than you. I also have a much smaller cup size (a solid C) but wear mostly medium tops. What's up with that?1 -

I'm guessing OP will be wearing size small...0

When you're short and small boned and lose weight, the vanity size thing really gets to you. That's when you find out there's no meaning to "x-small". I don't have the right shape for buying children's sizes. I've given up on wearing yoga pants.2

With the exception of one pair of shorts that seem to run the same size as the UK (US8/UK12), I find clothing in the US to be on the whole uniformly bigger in the "native" stores. Shops we have in Europe or those aimed at a younger demographic run about the same. And then within that are variations.
Here in the UK I am a smaller size in M&S and Next, they are aimed at maybe 35+. Go into the younger shops like Topshop, H&M, sometimes Primark (they're a bit hit and miss!) and I am at least one size larger.
And i think when I was larger I had far more of a tendency to buy things with a fair amount of stretch, those would be more forgiving and fit a variety of sizes, some that still fit me comfortably now I am smaller.
With all that said, I'm going to be about a UK10/US6 at the upper end of a healthy BMI, maybe even a couple pounds before I'm within it, even accounting for my ridiculous butt and boobs (my waist however will be a good size smaller). Some people are just more compact.
But until we get there, we won't really know.1 -

If you buy from chinesse stores you'll alwayz look for XL lol0 -
Save the hassle and shop in the men's department.0

Most of my weight goes to my boobs, sadly.0 -

I have never understood women's sizing.
I am in the UK 5ft 6" 211 lbs and can wear anything between a 14 to a 22. I hate it when clothing is marked Large, XL XXL XXXL as I have no idea how they relate to my actual size. I do have an XXXL dress that fits me but that is from China.
Even size charts have different measurements for the same size dependent on manufacturer.
One thing that really really annoys me though is when you get a large size but the sleeves or legs are still cut for a smaller size. Manufacturers forget that when you are bigger in the waist hips bust you are also probally bigger in the arms and legs.
Best to just try stuff on and ignore size.
Whatever size you are wearing when you reach your goal you are going to look amazing

I admit my OP was a bit tongue in cheek... a bit of a commentary on vanity sizing haha.3

Good luck on making sense of the crazy sizes You look amazing, regardless.0

Yep. Sizing is messed up.
I am 5'3".
At my largest (270 lbs) I wore size 26 dress, size 22-24 jeans (or men's 44 waist), and 3xl shirt.
I settled at 220 for a bit... Size 22 dress, 18-20 for jeans and 2xl shirt.
Now at 190 I wear size 11-14 jeans, large in shirts and have given up on dresses0 -
I lost 32 pounds what ended up happening for me is my top size went down one from a large to a medium, and my sports bra size went from a large to a medium as well. My breasts ended up getting smaller ha. However, my pants size is the absolute same. I still have my big hips haha.0

I HATE CLOTHES SHOPPING. I have to try on every single top and bottom before buying it or I almost always have to return it!!!! Sometimes smaller shirts fit while larger pants don't and vice versa.
I've about given up until I've hit my goal weight. Mostly I'm at home so I just wear jammies and a baggy T-shirt. With bloating etc.
Very happy though, for the first time in 4 years I can fit in a pair of my old favorite jeans \o/0 -
A small? I don't understand the question.0

S is a clothing size. XS is a size. Wear what fits you when you get there.
I wore XL women's tops when I was obese. Changed size after 20-25 lbs lost. Still overweight I wear size L. Mid to top healthy weight will probably be M in most tops for me. My lower body has not changed clothing size at all and probably won't based on size charts. I'm already a M in my lower body.0 -
