Nice!! What was your running history like when you decided to train for the half marathon?? :-)

My husband has stayed relatively quiet about my weight loss and insists he likes the way I look at any size, but today I noticed he's changed my contact picture in his phone to the new, thinner me47

I walk to work daily (Mon to Fri) and see the same elderly man and his sheep dog every morning. The man and I normally exchange greetings and the dog just runs past ignoring me. Yesterday (Sat) I decided to walk my regular route and there they were. Pleasantries exchanged but the strangest thing happened, the dog ran ahead of me, turned around and came up to me licked my hand and brushed against my leg....as if to say well done...I see you doing something different.33

How sweet. You're part of his posse now! My neighbor's sheep dog is always trying to herd me; I might just let him one day and see where we end up.18 -

I had run a couple of 5Ks that year, but hadnt run consistently for quite some time. When I started training I could barely make it ten minutes, lol.10 -

Just wanted to share some photos from today's cycle ride:
Those violets are tiny; also saw some white ones but couldn't stop to get a photo as I was slogging up a hill
Spring is finally here, and I am so pleased that the clocks have finally gone forward as it opens up my day to fit cycliing in. I am thrilled; it's been a long winter. The snowdrops and crocuses may be over but the magnolias are out, the daffodils are waxing and waning and I've seen the first shoots of bluebells (my favourite flower).
Managed to fit in a 20-mile ride today, including up the HFH parts I and II twice (there's something so satisfying about that accomplishment). Planning to tackle HFH I & II three times in one outing before the end of this week, and I'm going to try to fit in THE HILL which allows me to go really fast down it; haven't been down that one since the autumn and I'm looking forward to it - getting up the hill should be a little easier as I've been up and down the HFH a few times now
I hit 38.6 mph today but had to yank on the brakes as some numpty in a car decided to give way to another car even though he didn't have to. Surely the driver knew I was hurtling down the hill and knew that he should get out of my way? I mean, I'm expected to be a mind-reader when out on the roads, so surely that works both ways? No?
Slightly shattered today; the clocks went forward, I didn't get much sleep due to toddler nightmares, up @5am (=4am) for the gym, visited my mum for most of the day as it's Mothering Sunday, then the bike ride, followed by getting the children into bed/housework.

@Madwife2009 Thank you for posting such lovely photos! Spring is here for us too, but today that meant a deluge with high winds and hail!
Maybe you were going so fast the ESP didn't have time to kick in on the numpty driver??? Or he/she was just oblivious as is the case with most drivers in my area. Lol7 -

We still have strong "breezes" - ended up cycling straight into a horrible headwind a few times. 'Tis hard work but so worth it I think that we have sayings around here to do with March winds and April showers . . . . more fun to come yet!
I think that you're right about the drivers - most of them are totally oblivious around here as well, especially with cyclists.6 -
Fit into a straight size 16 pair of jeans... they were legit jeans not the stretchy kind I've been used to wearing. They fit great except they were too short! (Tall girl problems.) I had to cuff them but it's not quite warm enough for capris yet... so I left them at the store but still happy started at a 22.38
