Are you weighing your food? Why are you eating so little? If you set your diary to public we'll be able to see your logging and help a little more5
-
You are still overweight. It's extremely common to need to lose a lot more fat than you think you need to lose in order to be healthy and look good. In addition, you need to ensure that you are maximizing fat loss while minimizing lean tissue loss. You likely have 35+ lbs to lose.
Are you doing any resistance exercise (e.g., lifting weights?) If not, start now, get sufficient protein, and continue eating in a deficit. But not at 1200. No adult male should be eating that little. That's nuts.
Good job so far!11 -
Buy pants that fit. Ebay and secondhand shops are your friends here.
Eat a reasonable amount for your height and activity level, every day.

Unless your doctor has told you to eat this little it's not healthy for a man to be eating under 1500 calories per day and is absolutely unnecessary for weight loss. You are doing yourself no favours, and will probably look and feel much healthier if you eat properly.8

because you need to lift weights in order to change your body composition. You're getting "skinnyfat" if all you're doing is dieting and cardio.9

This.
I went from 265 to 150, and yeah, I looked "different", but only in the sense that my head looked bigger and I had a bit of vascularity on my arms. Other than that, I just looked like a shrinkray zapped most of my body, but missed my head.
Started lifting again, upped the protein intake, ran a couple of bulk/cut cycles, and I actually look like a completely different person, in about seven months.
Keep in mind though, changes in appearance are far less obvious, the more fat one has. It was barely noticeable when I went from 265 to 220. Now however, my body looks absurdly different with just seven or eight pounds in either direction.9 -
Yep, I agree about the resistance/strength exercises.
OP, if you don't want to lift weights, bodyweight exercises, e.g press-ups, sit-ups, planks, are an option.1 -
* Losing 50 pounds is amazing... why aren't you giving yourself credit for that?
* If you are wearing baggy pants you are not going to really look your best. Wear clothes that fit, not just those that can be put on your body.
* Be careful of comparing yourself to MODELS. This society really has lost any sense of what regular people look like. And there's nothing wrong with looking normal. If you thought you'd come out of this experience looking like you belong on a magazine...well, very few of us do.9 -

^^^This is also likely the reason you don't feel any better or have more energy as well. You need to be eating appropriately to fuel your activity level. Less than 1200 is way too little, especially since you've lost nearly 50 lbs in that short of time frame. That's too aggressive of a loss.1 -
You lack energy because you aren't eating enough. I'm (trying) (and mostly failing) to stick to 1200 this week to bank for a big weekend and it sucks! I'm female, shorter and lighter than you, and 1200 isn't even enough for me.4

I also agree with others the fact you're eating so little is a problem especially since you haven't mentioned if you're eating back the calories you also burned from working out. I think not 100% sure but one of the things you probably lost was muscle which in turns helps keep the body more tight you've lost muscle loss which in turn probably has you dealing with loose skin. The healthy rate of loss a loss of at least 2 pounds a week some recommend even less such as 0.5-1 pound, and also eating more and eating the calories you burned. The minimum for a guy is 1500 calories, but at a slower rate you could've been able to eat more and still lost weight.
I also am curious if you've incorporated strength training into your routine which does help in working out more muscles.
Eat a lot more if you still want to lose weight reduce it down to 0.5 pounds MFP will give you a new calorie number, incorporate strength training into your routine, and know it's better to go slow with weight loss and be able to nourish yourself.
If you have no other weight to loss see recomposition might work for you.2 -
Why oh why are you eating so little? Your feeling sluggish because your body needs more fuel
If your not a fan of the baggy butt look then buy some smaller ones. Most of my clothes are ebay specials paid for by selling my big clothes
Ive lost 128lb........ i still look fat. Strangers like to remind me im fat....... guess what i AM still fat and will continue to look so until im closer to where i need to be
Weight/strength training helps for sure in maintaining lean muscle mass but it needs my layers of fat removing for it to shine6 -

The way to look good is to actually have a plan that is conducive towards your goal. And extremely low calories + no weight training = terrible idea. Plus, you are still over 200 lbs so you probably need to drop another 40. Raise your calories, get adequate protein, lift heavy weight and give it time.11 -

Problem is, you're likely sacrificing a lot of muscle to lose faster. That's really not going to get you where you want to be, visually speaking.3 -

It's mathematically impossible to lose 2-3 lbs at 1100-1200 but only lose 1/2 at 1500 calories because your maintenance calories are 2200-2700. At 1200 calories, you would be averaging 1000-1500 calorie deficit per day. Adding 250 calories, isn't going to shrink that exponentially. At best, it was water weights masking fat loss.
But also, losing 2-3 lbs/ week is super aggressive and a guarantee for increase muscle loss.3 -
But 0.5lb a week is a safe rate of weight loss. The problem here is your expectations.2

I made my diet public You would have to scroll back to June last year as i stopped for a while ( hence the 8 lbs gain) so starting again. I was not thinking what i was doing was bad the thinks i eat as you will see are good no junk food or processed stuff. a lot of chicken and Turkey and egg beaters.1

What are your goals? Because more than likely, starting loggin is a good start. Eating a more appopriate calorie level should be your other first thing (probably 1800-2000). Adding adequate protein (~150g) and resistance training should be the other thing. That is how you don't look like a fat *kitten*.4 -

My doctor told me that i should be 180 but he said that was unrealistic and he would be happy at if i got to 200 so i am at 209.5 this morning so i want to go to 180 by July August. I have absolutely no health issue that i need to deal with blood pressure is good, blood sugar is good cholesterol etc all very good. I just want to loose weight1

Lift weights... Additional muscle will drastically change how you *look*.
"StrongLifts5x5" or "Bigger Leaner Stronger" are good starting points.
Well done with the weight loss.

Unless not logging or highly innacurate logging (which I suspect) is at play.
OP, males should eat at least 1500 for weight loss. Any lower and you definitely risk losing more muscle and affecting your health as well as your heart. You feel like crap because of the fast weight loss and low calorie. Believe me, I've been there...
Use a food scale for everything that isn't actually a liquid. Choose correct database entries (match them with your food packaging or USDA entries). Only use cups/spoons for liquids.
And? Relax. Give yourself some credit. Losing 50lbs is HUGE!3 -

I am the same height as you, about 15 years younger, but there should be no reason why you can't get down to even 170 or lower (depending on what your body composition looks like). Heck, when I started, I though I would be ideal at 175 but I need to cut further to get single digit body fat.2 -
We don't always see the changes in ourselves. Like others have mentioned, take pictures for comparison. I've lost 125 pounds and sometimes i don't think i look different than i did before except when I go back and see pictures of my face then and now, and there is a huge difference. Yes, i also have the problem with wearing baggy clothing. Using youtube videos, i taught myself how to sew and hope to build up the courage soon to actually start tailoring my own clothes and also make some from fabric i have at home.2

We're built kinda the same. I'm 54, 5'11", about 219 (started at 240). I'm losing 2 lbs/week and eating A LOT more than 1200 calories. Occasionally double that. Most days I end up eating about 1950, which I am learning is not enough for my activity level. Yesterday I ate about 2500 and still had room for 300 more. You should definitely be eating back some of you exercise calories.1
