I'm a picky eater. If there is one thing I regret not liking, it's eggs. If I could teach myself to like them, I would. I cook them for my wife on weekends and even that is tough some time. Just the smell can turn me off.
Sounds rough! What about like, quiche or something similar to http://allrecipes.com/recipe/20917/egg-and-hash-brown-pie/?0 -

Quiche. Bleh. Taste too much of eggs.1 -

you're not eating eggs right? or did I misinterpret...?
i think OP means JUST eating eggs....
yeah...strange name though an 'egg fast' makes me think of NO eggs at all...
Should be eggitarian diet6 -
I have been on a egg fast for four days now and I think I;m going yo do it on the weekends of every week . Would that be ok to do?
You are a grown up and can do it if you want to. I don't think it sounds very healthy, though -- do you have a plan to get in extra vegetables on the other days to make up for going vegetable free two days of the week?0 -

Were you traumatized by an egg as a child? I was sadly traumatized by a 40 of J.D. in grade 9, and now can't stand the smell.7 -
People seem to be referencing gas from eating eggs. Is this really a wide spread thing? I have never had that happen to me from eating eggs. At any rate you may want to reconfigure this plan. Throw in a side of fruit and a vegetable and maybe a slice or two of bread and you will have a wonderful fast.2

Lack of fiber, lack of nutrients except for protein and fat - if whole eggs, very high dietary cholesterol; if only egg whites, more lack of nutrients except for protein.1

Me neither... Well my stomach can't stand them in their pure form. Intolerance is a bish.0 -
Egg fasts are popular in the keto/low-carb world for reasons beyond me. I guess they work as a fast way to get your body into a state of ketosis - since you're literally eating zero-carbs. So you will get a big whoosh of water weight leaving your body, but as soon as you reintroduce carbs, your weight will go back up to its normal range.
If you want to eat low-carb, eat low-carb. I personally love eating this way - but limiting myself to eggs or fat bombs or bullet-proof coffee is baffling. I don't see the point.1 -
Eggs are fastest in the microwave, but I only reccommend this method for scrambled. Be careful not to overcook.8

Eggs are very nutrient dense.2 -

All I can think of are the horrid egg farts....
At one point I was eating 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast, eventually I got sick of them and it was quite a time before I could stand to eat one again.1 -

is that whoosh from the gas leaving your system?13 -

Several people have mentioned gas from eating eggs, but I've never experienced this. Both my husband and I eat at least two eggs every day and haven't experienced "egg farts". Is this a thing?6 -
I don't know that they cause more farting (2 eggs are very commonly part of my breakfast and I haven't experienced it, but then I often eat broccoli at breakfast and haven't experienced any ill effects from that). I do think there's a smell to gas that I associate with eating lots and lots of eggs -- not really sure why, but I know what is being referred to, I think.
My feeling about an egg fast (in addition to that I expressed above) is that it's very likely to put one off eggs, and that would be a huge shame.0 -

Maybe it doesn't affect everyone, and I'm not sure if it actually causes MORE gas than usual, but I know for sure when my husband's been eating more eggs because of the delightful sulphurous whiff that starts emanating from his vicinity...4 -

It's actually the opposite... pretty much nothing BUT eggs, and fat. Oh the smells!
Smells? What kind of eggs are you eating??0 -

I was wondering what people were talking about! I love eggs, have them every weekend and sometimes during the week (although just eggbeaters during the week). Never have any issues at all with "smells". Nor does my BF.0 -
It's not all it's cracked up to be.26

Yes eat eggs, and the things the eggs turn into( chicken,) oh and what the chickens eat (vegetables and seeds),oh and the things that share the barnyard with the chickens (pig and cow and goat) oh and the milk from the cow and goat (dairy)and the fruit from the tree next to the barn (fruits)11

I made a dairy-free frittata with three of them last night.1

I don't know that I'd do it that frequently. Last year there were 2 times when i did a modified egg fast for 1-2 days that seemed to help me break out of a plateau for some reason (I eat keto anyway so it wasn't a giant departure). I personally wouldn't do it more than 1 or 2 days a month. (And no, I had no extra gas. Maybe since I wasn't also eating carbs? That seems to be what causes bloating/gas for me.)0

I don't personally eat eggs but I really don't like the smell of them cooking and someone told me it was becuase eggs contain sulfur.... so I imagine if you ate a lot of them and that sulfur got concentrated in your digestive system... That's all I can really say

are eggs jealous? do they hate to share the plate?
just kidding.
if you really like eggs, and you like these egg days, then keep it up. if you don't like eating nothing but eggs for two days a week, then stop. i see no other benefit to these egg days other than you really like eggs and you don't care to eat other foods!1 -
I'm thinking the OP is a low carber. I've read of people doing the egg fast to speed up weight loss or break a plateau. I've never done it, so cant confirm what effect it has...

Egg yolks contain a fair amount of sulfur which often gets expelled if it is too much for an individual. They don't produce excessive gas, just VERY noticeable gas.
BTW: you can do this with one egg a day. Just get ostrich eggs. One egg is the equivalent of 22 chicken eggs. (The fun facts I learn having a zookeeper as a friend)5 -
Where do people even get all these ideas from?4
