No. Why would you want or need to do that? What benefit is it having?19

I've mentioned on here before that I seriously considered quitting my first job because in the first couple of weeks I was there, I had one colleague on the egg diet and another on the cabbage soup diet.44 -
Eggs are good for you. Why would you want to not eat eggs?0

Whats an egg fast??1

Oh man, the egg fast. I'm sorry for your impact on global warming. Why on earth wouldn't you just eat at a deficit for the same effect?8

It's actually the opposite... pretty much nothing BUT eggs, and fat. Oh the smells!5 -
Eggs are great...you need to eat some vegetables too for the fiber though. Just lay off the broccoli/egg combo...worst gas ever.8
-
All I can think about is the smell... Worth it if you have a work colleague you can't stand but other wise...5

Just eat a normal range of foods under your calorie allowance!
There have been a zillion of these restrictive diet-type messages over the past week... no one can stick to a 'diet' like that.10 -

You must be yolking. You wouldn't catch me going to such eggstream measures.
srsly - no. Bad idea.77 -

Well, what are your goals? Weight loss, saving money, you love eggs that much?
There is no reason to just eat eggs to lose weight.
Eat the right number of calories and eat a normal varied diet and lose weight sustainably.0 -
Once again, excluding large amounts of foods with no proper reason to do so is a recipe for micronutrient deficiencies and the host of problems that come with it.
The details of a diet are as follows: allow yourself enough micronutrients and fiber for optimal gut health and other benefits, consume at least .8 grams of protein, with at least 20% of calories coming from fat, and the rest of the way the macronutrients are distributed, how many meals you have, food choices, etc.. are up to you. There are no such things as good or bad foods in an overall balanced diet.
Aim to get as many nutritious foods as you can from all food groups, but don't be afraid to include some junkier foods that you might like. This is a lifestyle, not a diet. The diet you use to lose weight should be the same to maintain it. Have respect for yourself, realize that the process takes time, and don't fall for quick fixes or fads-- the only thing you will be left with is a broken wallet and a broken heart.
Best of luck to you6 -
Its not a fast, its a mono diet.
If it stops you overeating then go for it.7 -
Well if you want to see your body drop a ton of water because you've depleted your glycogen stores by eating nothing but eggs carry on. The minute you eat a piece of bread (and you will) you'll probably think 400 calories of carbs made you gain 3lbs "back" and you'll throw in the towel remaining fat until you find the courage to try again. Sounds like a great plan if you want a disgusting relationship with food and to remain ignorant to the mechanics of weight loss. Why not?!20

Disagree. Proper micronutrients should never be compromised in an attempt to lose weight quickly.15 -
Ther is absolutely no reason to follow that diet at all. Just put it in the "bs" bin and carry on with eating what you like at deficit.4

Eggs are my absolute favorite food on earth. There is no way I could give them up. I would have a hard time getting from breakfast to lunch without my 9:30 hardboiled egg snack.1

at the cost of a healthy, balanced diet... yeah, no.6 -

This is a DIET. A temporary change in eating habits to lose weight. What happens when you get to goal (besides not being able to eat eggs again for several years)?
I don't do diets anymore because I always end up gaining the weight back. This puts me in the overwhelming majority.
Find something that gives you the tools to keep the weight off. Something like eating regular food, but in moderate portions.
If you want to eat fewer calories just 2 or 3 days a week look at Intermittent fasting (5:2 protocol). Maintenance for this is using fast days for the rest of your life to maintain your weight. Lots of info & meal ideas.......

I love my eggs but I think my husband would divorce me if it was all I ate3

This must be a new fad this month. Don't know how many people I hear doing this, but next month they will be the ones condemning eggs and cholesterol. Just create a calorie deficit and stick to it.0

Been doing an egg fast for decades. Can't stand the things.8

I'm a picky eater. If there is one thing I regret not liking, it's eggs. If I could teach myself to like them, I would. I cook them for my wife on weekends and even that is tough some time. Just the smell can turn me off.3 -
You know, how about you do what you want to do. If you want to try it, do it!
They key is to find something sustainable, if you find egg fasting on weekends is working for you and your goals, then do it.

So you think eating nothing but eggs, butter, oil and cheese for two days out of the week is a good idea and something we should be supportive of?7
