I Love This!! I hate when the dog owners wait for the dog to poop and walk on by with the dog. The dog seems more embarrassed then the owner. There are some ppl that have their little plastic bags and YAY for those ppl! Those kids pictures and the idea behind it is simply brilliant! I feel like making a couple signs and personalizing them... "Hey lady with 2 black dogs PICK UP DA POOP!" "Hey Guy that walks the black and white little scruffy dog that never stops barking PICK UP HIS POOP" oh and there's so many more.. there would be signs all over the corners!
I have intrusive thoughts enter my head they include ..... picking up that dog poop and shoving it down the back of their shirt. Also running through my mind picking up the poop and leaving it on their windshield with a note... "hey buddy you forgot something". Course I don't know these ppl or where they live... so it'd have to be down the back of their shirt... but I love the idea of the windshield best!
whew... strangely I feel better now. :laugh: Might be I got worked up just now because I found dog poop on my shoe yesterday when feeding the birds.
Photograph their dogs pooing and try to include them. Hang photos of "fox terrior of tall, thin white man" or poodle of short, chubby Latina" around where the do their business. If really inspired, follow them home and complain to the county. "dog owner at 1600 White Street's fox hound is pooing at Hazelton School grounds."1 -

Was walking through town with my mate after school (looooong time ago) and he threw a paper bag from his lunch on the floor. I just stopped in shock and made him go and pick it up. There was a bin 3foot away. And even if not, in pocket til you get home!
Another time I was driving him home and he made to throw his milkshake cup out of the window. Told him if he did he was walking home....he nearly did it but obviously saw I meant it
still really good mates btw - I just watch out for him being a complete scrud!
OMG, litter. And right now, I'm extremely annoyed by a particularly type of litter - the movie theater. The movie is over and everyone is leaving the theater and I cannot believe how many people think it's perfectly acceptable to leave their drinks and popcorn and candy trash sitting in the seat or on the floor. Yes, there's a crew coming in to clean up before the next movie. But that doesn't mean you should just leave all of your trash there for them to pick up! They've got like, 10 minutes. Don't make their job harder than it already is. Did you ever notice that crew is standing outside the theater with a giant trash can? Just drop your trash in the can on the way out. It's easy. What is wrong with people?
Early on in my marriage, I discovered that my new husband and stepkids were movie-theater trash-leavers. Horrified. And they INSIST that it's totally okay and expected and that I'm a crazy person. It's been an ongoing *thing* in my family ever since, because I'm the meanest and most unreasonable person EVER because I make them pick up their trash after the movie.
Any current or former movie theater workers want to weigh in? I'd be interested to know whether they're right. Surely they can't be right, right?
Where did people get the idea that it's okay to liter at the movie theater? Than why not on broadway?0 -
In relation to dogs and dog walkers, I hate it when people have their dog off-leash when they're not supposed to (in Australia dogs must be on leash unless it's a designated off leash area).
One of my dogs has some serious socialisation issues due to some mean neighbours and another lady who had her two Staffordshire terriers off lead in their front yard and attacked her. She's skittish, and we rely on other dogs being on leash so we can slowly rehabilitate and resocialise her.
It doesn't matter if you have a chihuahua or a Great Dane, they need to be on leash.8 -

This was a characteristic my ex-husband had. I won't say it's why he's the "ex," but it was a point of contention.
To deal with people who leave their shopping carts all over the place, I've just developed a zen attitude and clean whatever section of the lot I park in. And then I neatly align the carts in the corral. Makes me feel better.

This is bringing up a lot of rage in me. I end up picking up my dog's poo AND some other dog's poo if I can grab it all in the same bag. It depends if it's staying there forever? We have walking trails that loop in our neighbourhood, but there's only a garbage can at the end. So a lot of people will bag it, leave it, and pick it up on their way back through for the garbage can. Saves on hefting a dog, an umbrella, and a bag of poo for 5k.1 -

My neighbor's dog poos in MY yard, not his own. After much discussion with the neighbor "oh I'll pick it up" and then never does, we have started picking it up, putting it on a paper plate and leaving it on his front door step and even in front of his garage. Those poo plates miraculously disappear but he STILL won't pick up after his dog. Last time, we put the paper plate of poo on the hood of his car with a less than kind note ... waiting to see if anything happens with that!
Why on a plate? :laugh: Waiting to hear back as well... please post if you hear something! Well that dog is trained well.. poop in the neighbors yard instead of your own. UGH
What if you toss it back in the dog owners yard? It's his property, it doesn't belong to you... it's just not right to have someone else's property in your yard. It's best to return it back to the owner which you've been doing maybe a new method is needed?
Well, the neighbor stopped me the other day and asked me what the poop on the plate was about. It seems that his significant other has been throwing the poop plates away and my neighbor knew nothing about it until he just intercepted one. He went on a tirade about how he hates his SO's dog and has to clean up poop inside the house all the time. Hmmm ... I have not seen poop in the yard for over a week now and also no dog or significant other. I do believe they may be on the outs because I see the neighbor often but I am afraid of asking where the dog and SO are!4 -

Oh, I forgot about litter.
It's extremely disrespectful. And to be so flagrant as to deliberately roll down a window and drop whatever crap on the road (rather than have it blow out or fall out-- which doesn't matter TN law. A driver is responsible for the contents of his vehicle)
But the worst of them all are cigarette buts. My club does Adopt A Highway. Four times a year we clean a two mile stretch of US Hwy, both directions and there are literally thousands of cigarette butts (It's a boring job. I counted). In this state it's a $50 fine (for ANYTHING less than 5 lbs) and 40 hours community service.
If it were cited and prosecuted more, maybe it will help.3 -

And add in people that let their dogs (on leash or not ... but often not) run right up to yours saying, "oh, don't worry, my dog is friendly!!!".
Yeah? Even if it is true - and half the time it's a flat out lie, mine's NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Not if some strange dog gets in his face. I keep him on a very short leash wrapped around my waist and looped around my hand for that reason. Seriously, one of these days I'm not going to be able to get between my dog and theirs fast enough and there will be a fight. So far, I've been lucky enough to see them coming.3 -

These are measurements for volume.
1 cup is 8 oz
3/4 cup is 6 oz
1/2 cup is 4 oz
1/3 cup is 2 1/3 oz

Then you get into Tablespoons and teaspoons which are 1 oz and less.
Some people like to use measuring cups and some like to weigh. I prefer to use a food scale and weigh out everything in grams. I only use measuring cups if my scale is broken. I will add, sometimes depending on the density of a certain item the weight may not be 8 oz for a cup.
But then what's an ounce? Haha. Honestly, I can understand grams... Just about. On a different note, one app I tried, when I went to see the nutrient details, basically ended up being a maths test. I couldn't understand a word of it.
I hate when I have to guess calories in a home made dish. If i don't cook it, it's so awkward guessing how much of each ingredient is in it or how much it weighs. Lol0 -

When people smoke and toss their still lit cigarette butts out their car windows. Like seriously? COME ON! Also when someone smokes on their patio below my apartment and well, I might as well never sit on my balcony or have my windows open because it's like they're there with me, just smoking away! My dog is the same. Everyone in the neighborhood already knows. But when it'a a stranger, I try to warn them in advance. If not, they find out soon enough!
We also have some dogs that are allowed to run loose, and I'm always afraid they're going to get hit by a car. There's a lot of traffic in my neighborhood and we're near a truck route. Makes me crazy.

Ounce is a measure of weight. 1 oz = ~28.349 g. 16 oz = 1 pound = ~0.453 kg
Fluid ounce is a measure of volume. 1 fl oz = ~29.573 ml. 32 fl oz = 1 quart = ~0.946 l

I like that the English units follow a sort of binary, base 2 pattern.
What I find somewhat amusing is some food labels give joules instead of calories. For the uninitiated: 1 joule = 1 Newton-meter = 0.000947817077749 BTU = 8.85074610683 inch-pounds. For SCIENCE! (and also you people that like torque specifications)

Most of my 'I hates' are traffic/driving related. One that's been happening a lot lately - why, oh why, do people wait to pull out in front of you (cut you off) from a side street until you're almost on top of them, then proceed to drive 10 mph below the speed limit?? And there's nobody behind me! If you're going to drive like an a*hole, please let me pass first!1
