Do I really need breakfast early in the morning even i'm not hungry like in my other meals at lunch and dinner. I'm stay at home this summer and I'm trying to experiment on meal and snack times.

No. I find it easier to lose and maintain without it. I get up at 4:45 am and don't eat until 11am or 12 pm.7

Nope, do what works for you.1

No. Although technically you eat "breakfast" at your first meal regardless of time.8

No, but I can follow a deficit or surplus lan easier if the calories are spread out. Plus I like breakfast foods and those are by far the cheapest for me at grocery store compared to other meals.3

nothing wrong with having your omlet, Kodiak cakes, oatmeal or whatever at 2pm or for dinner or whatever time in the day. Love me breakfast foods too. Had a lean turkey guacamole egg in a hole for dinner other night1 -
Nope. I almost never eat breakfast and I've lost 130lbs. That whole "most important meal of the day" was, from what I've read, just part of a 1944 marketing campaign launched by Grape Nuts manufacturer General Foods to sell more cereal.4

Yes. I eat it every morning. Your mind is much more alert w it.0

My body isn't ready to eat for at least 4 hours after I wake up so technically my first meal or food to "break" my "fast" is lunch and even then I'm not ready to eat heavy until later in the day just before dinnertime around 5 or 6.0

I work with with a batiatric surgeon and the dietician who I work with says breakfast is very important and it affects the way your metabolism works and your energy level.2

I have coffee early in the morning, then usually eat "breakfast" around noon or so. Funny, it hasn't seemed to affect my metabolism or energy levels and I'm down 65 pounds and ready to switch from losing to maintenance very soon. It's been my experience that (for me) it's easier to stay within my calorie limits if I start eating later in the day, and I enjoy having the majority of my calories for dinner in the evening. Basically a 16/8 intermittent fasting pattern, although I don't religiously adhere to it or think there's any magic to intermittent fasting.
Meal timing is completely irrelevant in terms of weight loss. Do whatever works best for your satiety, energy levels and workout performance.8 -

Back in the day when I used to eat breakfast, I'd be hungry for the rest of the day. I don't eat until lunch time now, I'm not hungry before then and I generally eat less overall. Breakfast is not needed and in fact many people find skipping breakfast helps them lose weight.3

If you have an ample supply of glycogen in the body, you should be just fine.

Energy levels are based on if you're rested enough and if you have fuel to burn. That DOESN'T have to come from breakfast.
And how exactly does it affect the way your metabolism works? Whether you eat breakfast or not, metabolic rate isn't going to change especially if your TOTAL CALORIES needed by the end of the day are met.

Note that by "Advanced" in the middle section, he's speaking of bodybuilders who are at/near their genetic potential and/or highly competitive elite athletes. Basically, if you have to ask if you're "advanced", you're not.
And by "extreme fat loss" in the left section, he's speaking of people who are already very lean and trying to reach extremely lean bodyfat levels (like competitive bodybuilders in pre-contest prep). Having an average (or below) physique and trying to fit into your summer bathing suit or wedding dress isn't an "extreme fat loss" goal.4 -

It is for me or I get really grumpy and snappy1

I get up every morning around 5:00 or so and don't have anything except tea with fat free half and half until around 1:00 or 2:00 every day. I also run at least 3 miles every morning.
I'm simply not hungry in the morning and the earlier I eat, the earlier my appetite gets switched on. I homeschool my son and have no trouble concentrating on teaching him and focusing.
OP, if you're not hungry, don't eat. Save your calories for later. A lot of people are natural breakfast-delayers.2 -
When I was at bariatrics, I was told the same thing. I know however the first time I lost 87 pounds I did not eat breakfast. I am hypothyroid and have to wait to eat after I take my meds. I would take my meds then go to work and at my first break around 9:30a I would eat a snack and then eat my lunch later. This worked well for me until I broke my shoulder and became totally inactive and didn't watch what I ate. Probably ate breakfast too, lol.0

Do what works for you. I find that when I have some protein in the morning I eat better all day. It took a lot of food journaling to figure that out for me.1

I suggest you read up on intermittent fasting.
The 8/16 version may work very well for you and any resource on it will elaborate how breakfast is not required.

My breakfast consists of a cup of coffee. I don't eat anything solid until lunch time and my body seems pretty happy with this.2

Nope! I typically don't eat my first meal until about 11am, and am up at 4 or 5am M-Fri. It makes it much easier to adhere to my calorie goals.1

I've been playing with this for myself. I am nowhere near "advanced". In the last 2 years I've gone from 25% fat to 35% fat despite spending one year of that lifting specifically to gain muscle mass. My trainers argued that my not eating breakfast was the culprit for loosing any muscle mass gained. My whole life I ate a decent sized breakfast first thing, so maybe that makes a difference. Due to my schedule, these past 2 years I've been eating breakfast about 3.5 hours after waking with 2 of those hours being exercise. Currently, I'm eating breakfast first thing again. I definitely feel less hunger throughout, but only time will tell if there are other benefits.0 -
I drink a Slimfast shake for breakfast. I am not ready to eat after my coffee and this is the best way to start my day with protein and all the other nutrients until I want food.0

See what works best for you. Eat breakfast for a few weeks, and then go without breakfast for a few weeks. You'll discover what your body prefers.0
-
I rarely eat until afternoon. If I get hungry I do, but it's rare.0
-
Nope you don't need it. I usually eat breakfast, but some mornings I'm just not feeling it. Listen to your hunger cues.0

I wouldn't hit my macro's if I didn't! My breakfast consists of either 2 warm protein & fruit muffins with low fat natural yoghurt & chocolate whey or hot porridge/almond butter/sliced peaches & chocolate whey....coming out at a whopping 41g protein. This fills me up till 1pm when I get me some meat & carbs.1
