I was assistant refereeing a local women's league soccer game last night. I know just enough Spanish to realize a couple of ladies on the sideline were talking about my bum. In complimentary terms....46

Scale-inspired, I guess, but, truly, I just thought my body wouldn't ever work right again after a serious illness / injury. Not exaggerating: I've been working on healing for over 10 yrs now. I could cry I'm so moved.
This is amazing! You're awesome11 -
Oh, wow! Another one for today if I may: my pants (6's) look ridiculous, and wearing them without a belt is not an option. I couldn't find any 4's at my local Goodwill just now, and decided to purchase a few 2's thinking they're inexpensive and at least I'll have them if I ever need them someday. Well, someday is today! And some of the 2's are loose. (I told you my 6's look ridiculous!)

I never machine dry my jeans because they'll shrink and be too short. But now they're baggy. So I've just dried them. They may be a little short, but at least they're not falling down. Time to get some in the next size down, I think.26

so, I could not even run a mile in January without stopping to walk because my joints would hurt. I just ran 9 miles this morning... in 90 minutes.48

Completed week 2 of C25K yesterday. I've been wanting to do C25K for ages, but thought it would be too hard, I'm too out of shape, I'm too fat, etc. etc.
Apparently, none of these things is true.39 -

The other night during my jog, I jogged 12 consecutive minutes! My mini goal was to push it from 6 minutes to 7 minutes....I just kept going after I hit 7.26

I don't run.
I never have (Intentionally) run.
I have run after the children in order to prevent bad things happening.
I hated running at school, and just used to walk around whatever circuit had been selected. I was always last back to the showers (although this was good as the showers were empty by the time I got there).
However, since improving my health and fitness, I have wanted to run.
ME. Wanting to run. My school PE teacher would faint if she knew . . .
I damaged my knee last year in a biking accident and was really annoyed as I'd planned to join a C25K group and had to put it off as I was worried that my knee would not cope with the pounding.
A couple of weeks ago, I did a couple of tiny, tiny sprints. My knee was fine during and afterwards.
A couple of days ago, I downloaded the C25K app.
Today, I gently persuaded my son to do the first workout with me. He eventually conceded.
This afternoon, we completed the first workout, so I ran for a total of 8 minutes.
Me. Running. ME.
We both enjoyed it, and found it was a bit easier than we'd expected. One condition of my son joining me was that he could opt out after the first workout. He's chosen to continue, so the second workout is on Monday. We're both looking forward to it.
But . . . ME! RUNNING!!!
*** TMI ALERT *** I was concerned that my pelvic floor would let me down (after four babies, the last two weighing 9.5lbs and 11lbs) but it was fine. No sneaky leakage at all. This may have been a factor in waiting so long to do this, if I'm honest. Although the knee injury is very real and causes discomfort. The physios think it'll take two years to heal fully but I'm not holding my breath on that forecast!35 -
My fiancé has worked out with me two days in a row!!!! I have never seen him work out since we've been together (except for when we go hiking). I'm so excited that I've stuck with this lifestyle change long enough for it to make an impact!29

Update on the Mexican dinner out with friends last night. I went with a friend, it was storming something awful and we were the 2nd and 3rd to arrive, two more came together a bit later and the 6th was a no show, no call, so ended up waiting a good long while before we ordered, with those chips and bowls of salsa staring me in the face and my stomach grumbling. I finally gave in and had some, but I ordered the salad minus the cheese and dressing and asked for some limes to squeeze on it. It was so delicious! Also I passed on the margarita and went for the unsweet iced tea with lime and logged everything, even the chips and salsa and ended up with a 147 calorie deficit after exercise, so I feel like that was a major NSV! The rain slowed to a sprinkle after I got home so I suited up and walked off my step goal for the day and when I logged in on Garmin Connect (My activity tracker site that syncs with MFP) I saw that not only was I good on calories for the day but it was my 11th day in a row of meeting or exceeding my step goal. Now to conquer water! I'm feeling MIGHTY GOOD!44

I'm wearing a summer camp t shirt from 8th grade. (kept the shirt when I cleaned out my old bedroom at my parents' house several years ago). It's an adult large, not vanity size since it's from the 80s. It's big on me now. I know I weigh less than when I was in middle school but this is helping this fact sink in. BTW, I'm 44.39

I realised today that it takes way less effort to sit hugging my legs to my chest. I can also sit that way on the computer chair, I've never been able to do that!19

I took my dog for a walk this evening and realized that now, when I look at my shadow as I walk, there's way more sunlight between my legs, even between my thighs! My biggest excitement about this as summer comes is the possibility of running in running shorts with less/minimal chafing.23

Me too!!! I just pulled three pairs out of the drier!!! First time I dried my jeans - hope it works!!
2nd NSV: swapped out my Fitbit band to the small size. Feeling pretty smug.

I took a full body picture at an event today with three other smaller ladies. I wasn't intimidated or embarrassed to be next to people much thinner than me, I wasn't comparably huge17

Outside right after dark tonight. Was getting ready to go for a walk. Found one of the neighbors pigs in my yard. Spent almost two hours pig wrangling. Constant movement, up and down hills, through vines and spiderwebs, digging the hole under the fence bigger and moving a big log to block the fence after. Never got tired feeling.

Did a 5K Park run today and almost broke 40. 40:02 according to the official time (40:58 by my watch but I forgot to turn it off right away).
Well. I thought I was happy last week. Today was 38:37. Knocked almost 1 1/2 minutes off last week.26 -

Non Scale Victory. Something other than the weight on the scale.3 -
Completed my first Ragnar Trail Run today!! It was freaking phenomenal!! I was the "newer" runner on the team with having just started Oct 2016, but I MORE than held my own time wise (for what I'd committed to doing) for each leg of the relay race!
Trail running requires a lot of leg strength due to the terrain resistance, constant inclines, and the requirement that we jump over roots, debris etc that may be on the trail...my weight lifting certainly came in handy and assisted with "leveling the playing field" a bit since I'm not a particularly fast runner YET. :-) My quickest time was on the "harder" (red trail) since I didn't have to stop at all for the inclines... just ran right up them. Soooo happy it's over now though! :-)
Oh yeah and last notch on the small Fitbit is now looser.. may have to look into xsmall wrist bands soon.23 -
My NSV is health-wise. I had some blood work done at a recent health fair, and this week I got the results back. I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol, have for awhile now, though my blood pressure seems to be finally sorting itself out since I'm not as big as I was when I was first put on my medicine (I'm still on it, but I hope at my next doctor's appointment, we can talk about starting to take me off it).
But my cholesterol, well, at the last health fair in September (they have them every six months here), I was told it wasn't at goal and she upped my dosage to help it along. Like I told a lot of people I know, "I'm still big, it's not going to be at goal overnight and look at my uncle, who is about as a big as a rail, and he has high cholesterol." Anyway, I got the results back...and my overall cholesterol was 156, which for being a not so fat girl, is pretty good. My ldl (bad cholesterol) could be a little better, and my hdl (good cholesterol) needs some help, but I'm working on that one...hopefully by the next health fair in this September it'll be in better shape. But I still consider it a win, because last time I think it was over 200.22 -
Whenever I get down closer to 150lbs, my cheekbones come back, haha. They came back recently and I noticed them.29

About a month ago I was at old navy and saw size 14 long pants on sale for $6.95. At the time I was wearing size 18 longs. Yesterday I had my other jeans in the wash when a friend called to ask me to do something so I tried the 14 longs. They fit like a dream.33

Feeling (almost) pretty to accomplish my citizen duty - I'm French and today is the 1st vote for the election of a new president.
A year ago I'd have gone in jogging I guess. If I went at all, that's how bad I was at the moment.

Atrempted w1d1 c25k today. Didn't finish, but got 2/3 done before i thought i was going to be sick or die. Much better than I thought I'd do. Went with my very athletic 11yr old. He was very supportive the entire time. He's pretty awesome. Our goal is to be able to finish by next week, and actually be on the program. Also, want to add, this was my first actual exercise since January.29
