Anyone else having this problem! I ate completely raw. Whole grains Less refined carbs like bread but if I ate bread it was whole grain! Well I still have whole grain pasta or rice and corn pasta, pasta made from brown rice! I just introduced condiments into my diet! Maple syrup in my oatmeal for breakfast. After a year worth of restrictions and my body is going crazy with these things! Plus I've been eating homemade snack and some processed thing in complete moderation! My scale has been going up lately! I'm disappointed in myself for achieve my lowest weight to slowly climbing the scale. It has to be all the excess sodium and sugar! If I can I do make things from scratch but i try if I do eat anything processed or mass produced I'll find the healthiest option because if not so easy making everything from scratch!!! I am planning on detoxing soon to get rid of all the toxins. I've been trying to hold a some what vegan diet but I need to eat more protein! Idk I'm trying to find that right healthy balance. Maybe I need more exercise now so I can eat more. At one point in my weight loss journey I was eating to little and working out to much and I'm in the stage where I'm trying to find the healthy balance of eating like a normal human being and working out and being healthy with or depriving myself of malnourishing myself! Idk I have been having trouble with eating and working out. I can't seem to find a perfect balance. I plan out meals and try to plan out my days or meals in advanced! I walk Back and forth to work. I prep the healthiest meals I can with flavor now after so long of eating bland foods. Now I see myself going crazy with additives. I eat a lot of veggies and fruits and nuts. Idk I'm at a point in my life and my weightloss journey where I'm trying not to go back to my old way and I feel like I could be going back.

Are you weighing and logging your food?
There is no such thing as detoxing. Your body does that for you.12 -
I'm not quite sure of the question. You've posted many threads about the same thing and got lots of replies, suggestions, and advice...8

How many calories were you consuming before compare that to how many calories you are consuming now. If you are gaining weight you are consuming more calories then you are burning the amount of process that those calories has undergone has nothing to do with whether you gain weight or lose weight you lost weight because you were eating less calories then you were burning.6

@Chef_Barbell I measure my foods. I actually should buy a food scale. That going on to my list for things to buy this week!! That's going to be my best purchase! I forgot about a foods scale. I need a treadmill or exercise equipment Thank you1

That's where your eyes will be opened.5 -
How did you 'eat completely raw' but had bread, pasta etc?
8 -
You need to eat healthy foods for the rest of your life or else you will gain the weight back. Think of it not as a diet but a lifestyle change. You have to eat healthy to have a happy healthy life. Try to exercise and re-elevuate what you are eating. Doesn't need to be vegan but needs to be healthy. I recommend no sugar, no salt and no processed foods. Good luck. You can do it!1

No this is horrible advice. All or nothing mentality is not good.19 -
If you're gaining weight then you've started eating more calories. If you were also eating lower carb and upped your carb intake (don't know if this is the case), then you may be adding in some water weight as well. Make sure your calorie intake is lined up with your calorie targets and then give it a bit of time for things to even out.
eta: also congrats on your amazing loss!5 -

Ate one point all I ate was veggies and fruit. And then I incorporated whole grains like brown rice, quinoa then I added whole wheat bread and corn or rice0 -

@Maggie4211 @Chef_Barbell at one point I restricted so much and now I feel like I'm unhinging. I eat a lot of veggies stills dn whole grains. I incorporated whole wheat bread and condiments.. trying to do plant based. Eating things in extreme moderation! I'm a foodie and love to cook! I'm trying to find a healthier and guilt and worry free lifestyle. I just want to be happy and healthy and enjoy my meals and snack likes I used to without going back to my old 253lb pound self0

Dear lord, please do not follow this advice unless you get some kind of high off telling people how particular you are about what you put into your body. This is a terrible way of approaching weight loss.
There's nothing wrong with sugar, sodium, or processed foods.4 -
I'm living in fear that I will go back to those old ways and I have anxiety and worry about every meal1

I'm down 130lbs and based on your statements you'd probably have a heart attack if you saw what I ate. The foods you have recommended that must be removed from the diet as the only way to maintain a weight loss do not actually need to be removed to be successful. You are misinformed.8 -

You can do both... it will lead to less binging.2 -
You need to watch this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVjWPclrWVY
Your diary shows entries such as:
1/4 cup rice
1/4 cup peanuts
tbsp sunflower seeds
1/4 tsp maple syrup
tbsp nuts
half batch oatmeal cookies.
These things could be far, far more than you've estimated.
Weigh solid food in grams. Weigh liquids in millilitres. Especially things that are calorie-dense such as the foods I've listed.
Also, forget about "healthy". All food has nutritional content, and can be good for you, depending on your goals and/or needs at the time.
Being scared of "processed food" is yet another way the diet industry wants to keep us feeling guilty so we spend money on the latest diet fad.
Eating what makes me satisified within my calorie limit has helped me lose 80 lbs and keep it off for a year. I eat/ate dessert and drink alcohol in moderation every day, and have never been healthier.10 -

1) No sugar would really be impossible, unless you're cutting out fruits and veggies, which would not be recommended
2) Your body NEEDS sodium. Seriously it does. Yes, the SAD usually has too much, but saying NO salt is ridiculous.
3) "Processed food" tends to be high calorie, so it can be harder to fit in when you're counting calories, for many people, but it certainly doesn't need to be eliminated entirely. (And what counts as processed food is a debate in itself)5 -
Calorie in, calorie out. Always. That is the equation that will help ANYONE lose weight. I eat McDonald's and processed food, I've lost 10kg in 10 weeks. U must be tight with you're logging. 300 calories of broccoli is the EXACT same as 300 calories of chocolate.6

This is where knowing how many calories you're eating can be a great stress reducer. When you weigh and measure your food and maintain your diary you can make informed decisions on when, what and how much to eat without the stress of guessing if adding the mayo to the sandwich will undo all your work. When you get that food scale, use it faithfully and I think you'll be surprised at how much it can reduce food anxiety.3 -

I really am trying to find that healthy balance and my next purchase is going to be scale to weight out my food to get the proper reading on things I've come this far and don't want to back track3 -

As the OP just found out for herself that works well... for a period of time.

Question - how much weight have you put back on, and in what time period? Could it be standard variations - water weight if you are eating more carbs than you were used to?2

Metabolism vs digestion. I say just log strictly. Weigh foods.1 -
Unfortunately you did not use the time you were losing weight rapidly to develop a set of food trade offs that you are willing to make long term. It is easier to make mistakes when you're operating under a large deficit.
Having said that... it is not impossible for you to develop these skills now.
Start using a trending weight app (Libra Android, Happy Scale Iphone, Trendweight.com with a free fitbit.com account even without a device, Weightgrapher.com for manual entry).
Set a range in the trending weight app. That range should be smaller than your scale weight range; but definitely not zero.
Depending on how much your weight varies based on hormones a 2-5lb trending weight change may be appropriate.
Experiment lots when you have the room, go back to your "go-to" way of eating when you're about to go too high.
Use the experimentation time to develop your own trade offs between satiety, enjoyment, and the calories they cost you.
HEALTHY ITEMS ARE NOT ALWAYS A GOOD DEAL. Let me repeat that: healthy items are not always a good deal when it comes to calories. Maybe you are willing to pay the price to receive the health benefit from any one item... and maybe you're not.
Sometimes I'm willing to spend 230 calories eating oatmeal and sliced apples and dried cranberries and currants at McDonald's. Sometimes I'm willing to spend the same 230 calories eating a vanilla cone. Note that on neither occasion am I consuming a Big Mac because, for me, it wastes a lot of calories on a useless middle bun and on thousand island sauce I can easily live without. But on occasion, I might chose to eat a Mcdouble and add some extra meat patties or a round egg to it.
Eating the oatmeal at Mcdonald's did not magically make it any more or less healthy than eating it at home! And finding a way of eating that you can keep to long term is the only way you will manage to maintain your weight loss.
Best of luck.5 -
