    I started eating the Whole 30 way on Monday and I'm excited to see where it takes me! I started lifting weights consistently last week so I am hoping to lose big numbers this month.

    Setting these exercise goals has helped tremendously!

    My go to would have to be my stationary cycling bike. I would love to start jogging, but my past injury caught up to me. Got a knee injury from a car accident when I was in my 20's, didn't know it because my whole body hurt for weeks. Now i can't jog without having to put ice on both my knees. I stated cycling cycling and it's helping my knees. I would like to join your challenge and my goal would be 40 miles in a week. More then I have done this past 2 weeks which was 50 miles in that time frame. Good Luck!

    On our ride today ... a casual recovery ride with our touring bicycles ... :)

    It's autumn here and today was a heavily overcast day with a hint of fog and smoke in the air. But because there was no wind and the temp was in the high teens, it was actually quite nice out there.

    We kept it pretty relaxed including a lunch stop in the middle.

Life's just too busy right now for me, and I'm trying to focus more on activity minutes than miles in this season of my life as I'm balancing new work commitments, etc. I just don't have the extra time right now to be posting to the forums in addition to everything else right now.

    Even though I won't quite make my goals, I've exercised more than ever in a month.

    Also, I started Whole30 10 days ago and I've been lifting weights on a regular basis. For me, those are BIG wins.

    Walk: 15.19/20
    Bike: 212.28/250

    I'm going to try to bike tomorrow and Sunday also. My knees have been cracking sometimes when I bike, so I'm playing it by ear.

    I appreciate the encouragement from this group!

    April Highlights

    Another 1000 km cycling month! This is our second 1000 km month in a row.

    And a 2-part Anniversary:

    1) On April 29, 1990, I started cycling "seriously" and specifically, I started logging all my cycling distances. Yes, I have kept track of every single kilometre I have cycled since April 29, 1990. On that day, I rode 2 miles and had to take a break at the end of the first mile because it was that difficult. I've built up strength since then!

    2) On April 29, 2016, I became an Australian citizen.

    April Highlights

    -- First full month as a 50-year old.
    -- Cycled 1000 km in April, for the second month in a row! In fact we finished up with 1112 km.
    -- Cycled 3000 km during the first third of the year. That's a good start to the year.
    -- Cycled a 300 km randonnee + a 200 km randonnee (sanctioned long distance cycling events) on the Easter weekend. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to pull those off, but we had been training for it ... and did it!
    -- In completing the events above, we also completed our 4th century in the CAM (Century-A-Month) Challenge. This challenge requires that we cycle 162 km on day in each month of the year, starting in January.
    -- Cycled our 6th Petite Year Round Randonneur ride, a 100 km permanent. The Petite Year Round Randonneur requires that we cycle a 100 km event each month of the year, starting in November.
    -- On April 29, 1990, I started cycling "seriously" and specifically, I started logging all my cycling distances. Yes, I have kept track of every single kilometre I have cycled since April 29, 1990. On that day, I rode 2 miles and had to take a break at the end of the first mile because it was that difficult. I've built up strength since then!
    -- Celebrated my 1-year anniversary as an Australian citizen!
    -- And maintained my weight all month. :grin:


    Looking forward to May!! :D The plan is that May will be strength and speed month. Gotta get better at climbing hills and faster on the randonnees. :)

    Even though I won't quite make my goals, I've exercised more than ever in a month.

    Also, I started Whole30 10 days ago and I've been lifting weights on a regular basis. For me, those are BIG wins.

    Walk: 15.19/20
    Bike: 212.28/250

    I'm going to try to bike tomorrow and Sunday also. My knees have been cracking sometimes when I bike, so I'm playing it by ear.
