I impulsively travel a lot when I start feeling sad, I think to try and distract myself a bit (although really I think it's just I get restless when discontent and I have bad self control)

I have a lot of things I do to center myself.
    1. prayer and meditation
    2. workout
    3. play tennis (a lot)
    4. hike
    5. drink
    6. play with kids or dogs (sure fire cheer-up)
    7. Immerse myself in a project like woodworking, restoration work, automotive stuff, yard work or the like.

I grab a cigar and go for a walk. Work has been helping me get in about 18 miles a week.

I do not experience clinical depression, so sadness is occasional and transitory.

Not going to lie, there are moments where I eat, yell/swear and cry. There was a time where I'd inhale fast food and just sleep. Workout, go for a walk, or go to a class and work your butt off. You'll be too tired/out of breath (me) to worry or care about anything other than catching your breath. :)

Buy my dog a new toy. Watching a doofy dog make a fool of himself with extreme joy over a squeaky bit of fluffiness will make ANY day better, plus it puts things in perspective a bit.

For me, stress is best relieved by exercise, although stress and exhaustion tend to be coexistent in my world, and it can be difficult to find the motivation to get up and DO it.

I don't get sad or stressed. I take all my emotions out during the sprees.

For me.... being sad and drinking is like being happy and drinking...any time is a good time to drink. The more excuses the better. Don't get me wrong I don't have an alcohol problem I just like to have some drinks during the day

If I am really sad, there is a special place in a nearby park that is relatively private where I go by myself in my car with a box of tissues and I just talk it out with my higher power of choice and cry. I find that it helps me to re-center myself and I am often given insights and I feel better. Things might still suck but I feel as if by giving myself permission to grieve / be angry I can come back into the world more peaceful and better centered and ready to face whatever I need to face.

I talk to a friend, watch a comedy, get a alcoholic drink or work out. Depends what kind of sad I am (sounds weird I know)

true. but sometimes numb = happy, or at least numb > sad. but it definitely isn't the answer in the long run.

When I am sad I sometimes let myself wallow a bit and "feel" the emotion.
My moods change quick tho, I am a pretty optimistic person. My main motto is that life is good and it is a privilege not a right. Not everyone gets to live.
That usually changes my sad feelings pretty quick. Being appreciative that I am alive and able-bodied and healthy.
I like being able to "feel" the emotions of sadness and happiness and to recognize how engrossing emotion can be. I'm usually pretty stoic, no real noticeable highs or lows.
