margarine or butter

I use two types of butter, sweet butter for cooking, baking and salted butter for toast which I leave out in a crock so its spreadable. I have no need margarine.1

I prefer butter as it has a much better flavor and I don't like margarine as it is too artificial for me. I use less butter than I use to but definitely on toast!0

I have used real butter now for years. My father-in-law is board certified health and wellness doctor, he recommends akways non-processed food. He says your body knows what to do with it but the chemicals just confuse it and are unhealthy.
We have been following his advice for years and are MUCH healthier for it.
Your father-in-law needs a new job then, because that's not how the human body works. It doesn't get 'confused'. That's not how chemicals work, either. Everything is made from chemicals. Fruit and vegetables and you and me and the air and water and... yeah, everything.
OP, eat whichever you prefer. Fat isn't bad for you. Neither is margarine. Just measure it accurately and log it. For years I used olive oil based margarine but recently switched to an oil margarine and butter mix because the olive oil marg I used contained palm oil. I try not to use palm oil because I love orangutans and all that.11 -

Now I can't use palm oil either.0 -
I used I Can't Believe it's Not Butter spray during my weight loss phase because of the low calories. Now in maintenance I use Aldi's butter with canola oil spread.0

Butter.
"Better butter butter"0 -
Butter... because I prefer the flavor and find I can use less due to that.0
-
I use no butter and no margarine. I'd definitely choose butter though0

Butter is delicious. That's reason enough for me. Margirine is ... oily and not as rich. Butter is rich, glorious, and slightly sweet and creamy from the dairy. What would life be without butter? Not a life at all I say!1

Butter, because I prefer the flavor to margarine.0

I wish that the diet world would end its love of demonizing foods and certain macros. Fat isn't bad for you and butter in moderation is quite fine. Just don't Paula Dean it and you won't go wrong. I haven't touched margarine in years. Chemicals and all... Butter is a natural product.1

Butter. Humans have been eating it since the dawn of civilization and we know all its health effects. Just weigh the amounts you use to keep it within your calorie budget.
Margarine doesn't have enough track record for us to understand all its consequences.0 -
I know where butter comes from, I will go without before using margarine. But that is just me0
-
Wow lots of butter people on here. I always go for the calorie reduced margerine for toast or popcorn or cooking. The flavour of butter is delicious but not worth the calories for me personally.0
