What? What does that mean ? Do you really need to be on steroids to gain muscle? Help? lol
She's referring to the get fat comment...In a surplus which is what is required to get big, you're going to put on both muscle and fat (not just pure muscle) which is why body builders do bulking and cutting cycles. Steroid use would have a blunting effect on how much fat you put on while in a surplus...but you'd still put on some.3 -

Pure muscle...as is no fat gain.
Ohh ok. I figure pure muscle is literally a muscle (a muscle is pure muscle right?) what comes with it is another story. So wait when you gain muscle you gain fat and need to re-lose it? That blows.1 -

Are those legal because Im all for it lmso ijs. But really that sucks and I had no idea. Learn something new everyday! I know a ton about dieting, but zip, zero about bulking - but at least I admit it and I don't go around giving advice about gaining muscle in detail... *COUGH* *COUGH*1 -

Your arms look ginormous though. You on the juicy juice?
Keep reading the "research" or follow what every big guy has done? 1g of protein per pound is a MIN! In part because of the amount you need to eat.
I understand you probably won't read that article, but you should. And not "every big guy" eats that amount. The person who wrote that article is big by natural standards (pic below). Well-researched science always trumps empirical evidence. I follow natural bodybuilders and their advice on building muscle and losing fat, since they don't rely on steroids/drugs. This is especially important for most people since they don't want to waste money on food/supplements in order to get to an unnecessary amount of protein. Reading the article I showed before will explain everything.

Current goal is to get into the 150s in weight, 8-10% body fat at 5'8.
You can eat and train the way you want for your goal. But a goal of 150lbs at 5'8" isn't what anyone would say is big. With clothes on, most people would even know you lift.2 -

No one said that was big. That's my goal for this year. I'll then have another goal after that. I don't know how big I can get, but you'd have to take into account bone structure, genetics, etc. It would probably be around 160 at 5-6% body fat, naturally, maybe 170s with a large bone structure. This article discusses that: https://www.muscleandstrength.com/expert-guides/bodybuilding-genetics
And honestly, that weight isn't bad for my height, naturally, at a low body fat. It's aesthetic and appealing to me. It's just a preference. I don't care to be a mass monster or anything. I also don't care if people don't think I "lift". That's just huge insecurity man. You need somebody, a stranger, to notice that you lift weights?

I'm not a man, not on steroids, but I know people who are and never seen them taking it easy in the gym. You clearly don't know how they work either.
Again, if you're burning all the calories, you aren't building anything.0 -

I'm sorry, but science just doesn't support any of what you are saying. You want to rip on people thinking they spend their whole time studying and don't put in effort. The reality is that we study to work smarter rather than spending our youth following broscience and destroying our bodies. Spending some time learning actual science rather than broscience could save you problems down the road.2 -
If you want to get fat... go on a diet. Its worked wonders for me.1

Then keep studing and follow ur book .. u gonna have a good body lol0

Cose i can see the pictures and usually who talk like this i know how they look like ... but anyway im done do what u wanna do... i just want to say 4 the people who really want to get big and see real result that dnt follow what the book or how they call it sciencestudy cose no one can tell exactly how u gonna grow the only way to know is trying in the gym what i sayd it work keep doing it... not working ?? Train for nucleus overload not working ?? Then go back follow the crowd xxx0

Seeing as how my last bodybuilding show I placed first in women's heavyweight and I hold a world record for deadlift I'll definitely keep up on the studies, they haven't done me wrong. Go ahead and keep judging by the pictures selected as our forum photos, doesn't mean they are up to date or reflect anything we've done.20 -

The people who really want to get big aren't dieting and burning all the calories, and are likely on PED's.
If no one can tell how they're going to grow, or by which method, why are you insisting on telling everyone how to do it?3 -

Hahah yeah I was very confused but I see anywhere from .8 - 1.2g of protein per lb of body weight i try for 1g but honestly I'm not a pro bodybuilder or anything so I'm just try to be low body fat with some muscle so I'm more worried about a defecit than my protein intake

Playing devils advocate here but OP appears to be FAR bigger than all the people in this thread who are so adamant that he's wrong.
Unless he's lying about his natty status then what gives?2
