What's Your Most Recent NSV

I finished week 3 of the C25K program. After all the times I've started this program in the past this is definitely the furthest I've gotten...starting week 4! Excited to see what this week will bring!

So I was having a really stressful afternoon at work yesterday and I stress ate a whole packet of bliss balls - this may not sound like an NSV but I actually have 3.

1. I have got so used to eating less that 5 bliss balls in one go was enough to make me feel like I had really overeaten and even a little bit queasy.
2. Instead of turning that stress eating into a full blown evening binge I made some adjustments to my dinner plans and skipped my evening "treat" and still came in on target for my calories for the day.
3. I am accepting this as a lifestyle change, I don't have to be perfect, these things will happen and I don't have to beat myself up for eating something unplanned just mitigate the damage and keep going.

My limp is almost gone because my feet and knees don't hurt all the time anymore.

I can walk a mile without feeling out of breath.

odd conversation starter, but I do vaguely know her. hehe. She thought I'd lost more then 2 stone as well.

(had the, 'how have you done it?' question. Reply: eat less . She responded with, 'ahhh yes, eating more healthy' - internally I sighed and thought, that isn't what I said, but yes, yes I have been subsisting on leaves and chicken)

and also actively had to restrain myself from raving about MFP. haha

I went out to a restaurant preview last night (I write about food for a living so this was a professional obligation). They served five courses paired with six cocktails. I tasted every drink and every course but didn't finish any of them -- left booze in the glasses and food on every plate. My sleeves fit. Not too many people talk about this but as a top-heavy woman, tight-in-the-shoulders is a constant clothes fitting struggle. The clothes are currently own are now actually comfortable in the shoulders (although a little loose elsewhere, lol. Thank goodness for cinching belts).

A patient presented at my work yesterday, and it was a woman from a nearby town who I had spoken to often about 6-7 years ago. She kept staring at me, looking sideways until finally she said "Do I know you? I know you right? Wow! Have you lost a heap of weight? How much have you lost?"

I politely smiled. Almost 50kg I replied.

Sadly I realise we live in a world that pushes away those who do not fit the mold. Anything less than perfection isn't good enough yet perfection doesn't exist. This only transfers to a person, and encourages feelings of sadness, uselessness and worthlessness. Also very sad was the fact that it took almost 50kg for this woman to truly smile and see me properly.

My NSV? For the first time yesterday I felt visible.
But more importantly I realise that if others are now seeing me for who I really am, then perhaps I can begin to see the real me too. Right?

I have the same problem, had to wear 2 sports bras to reduce the bouncing. I bought a shefit bra and love it! Its a bit restricting but NO BOUNCE, and its affordable.

When all my pre-weight gain pants (size 6) no longer fit.

Good excuse for me to go shopping!
