Suddenly noticed that that I can effortlessly climb 4 flights of stairs. While it wasn't "hard" before, I no longer think about it at all.25

Thank goodness for NSV. I started at 175lb on Jan 1st. I've been losing on average 1lb a week for the first 3 months of my weight loss journey. I've haven't really change much in my caloric intake but I have significantly increased my daily steps in the past month. Lately I'm losing I think on average 0.5 a week. I'm not sure why my weight loss is slowing down since I still have to lose about 22lbs to reach a normal BMI at 135llbs. I was hoping to be in the high 140's by mid June but that's not happening.
The good news, I'm still losing inches! All the hard work is worth it. I'm ready for my birthday beach vacation. I bought about 4-5 swim bikinis. I also bought beach wraps. I've been wearing the bikinis at home to take picture for comparisons and I noticed my legs are getting a little slimmer. I'm feeling more and more confident everyday that I can FINALLY wear a 2-piece bikini to the pool or to the beach and not feeling like everyone is staring at me.17 -
@Madwife2009 thanks so much for chronicling your C25K journey! I'm doing it too (just a week behind) and seeing you continue to conquer each week gives me hope that I will too. Lol I'm already dreading the 20 minute run I'll face next week! But I keep telling myself it's all in my head that I can't do it. There hasn't been a point yet where I felt like okay I'm dying I need to quit, and in the past when I've tried the program (and failed) that has definitely been the case.
WTG on your run!10 -

WTG on your run!
Aww thank you!
You can do the 20-minute run. If I can, then anyone can. I know this because I was the kid in Physical Ed classes who hid so that she wouldn't be picked to actually participate in games, and I was the kid who very reluctantly walked around the playing field instead of running. Today was the furthest I have ever run in my life.
I'm really looking forward to completing the program now18 -
I am feeling so dang good at the moment. Personal training and weight training is really paying off. My body shape is changing, sleeping better, eating better, more energy. This morning my trainer said I look amazing and much leaner. Yasssss! Haven't felt this good for 4 years.29

I was on my feet all day today... and didn't realize until I got in the car to head home that I hadn't felt the need to sit down at all. And even better, I noticed when we got home that my feet, legs, and back all felt good. No pain at all. That's something I've never been able to claim after a day of walking around.30

I have 2.
1: My husband and oldest were playing hacky sack last night, and I got up amd joined them. Was I any good? Definitely not. But I was out there. Previously I would have sat and watched from the porch.
2: I was out of my normal breakfast this morning. And i resisted thr jumbo pack of donuts and cinnamon rolls my MIL brought over for the kids. Instead i had oatmeal. I could have 2 packs for less calories than a single donut!17 -
My obliques are sore. I didn't even know I had any stomach muscles in there
I also got out of bed to train this morning but with the rain, I had to give myself a firm talking to in order to get my *kitten* in gear. I am glad I went though15 -
Got my A1c back yesterday - a little background, I was diagnosed with diabetes in December while in the hospital for abdominal surgery, and at that time my A1c was 11, which is very high. A1c is a measure of what percentage of your blood cells have glucose attached to them, which gives a picture of how high your blood sugar has been for the preceding three months. I haven't had one between then and now.
Yesterday it was 4.9, which is in the perfectly normal range.41 -
Have a couple this time.
First off, I had to get some lab work done for insurance purposes and hadn't had any done for years... I got the results back and they were great! Had my doctor look them over, he said I was doing fantastic and didn't need to change a thing! Whew!
Second, my kids play travelling baseball and softball teams where we usually have games Tuesday thru Sunday with practices scattered when they aren't having a game. For the last three nights, I have had more than enough energy to work my full time job(and a part, part time gig on Monday), get them to where they need to go with all the mom duties included AND even though getting home after 9PM, I still have gotten my walking and workouts completed! Last year I would have NEVER done that! Such a great feeling!!
And last, I was pushing 3XL in shirts and was in 3XL pants when I started this life change and happy to report I am down into XL shirts and XL/1X/16/18 pants and shorts!

I ran for 10 minutes straight today!! Wooo!! Victory! I've been doing the elliptical for months but had this major mental block with running. I was just so scared of it. Today after doing the elliptical I had EXTRA energy (what!?) and decided to try running. It wasn't that bad! Can't wait to try again tomorrow!!!28

My pants fit straight out of the dryer! They used to be so tight that the zipper would constantly unzip (classy, I know) and now I can get them on and off without having to unbutton/unzip them. Looking forward to going shopping this weekend!29

My bf ordered from Dominos and I didn't gorge myself! I ate 1 slice of pizza and had 4 parmesan bread bites (normally I'd eat the whole 16 piece order of them) Super proud of myself!36

I have this big, fluffy white bathrobe that I used to love but haven't worn in years because it wouldn't close all the way anymore. So embarrassing. Well I just grabbed it on a whim and it fits perfectly again! It's the little things!28

Very hot today so we made a slight detour on our walk to get ice-creams to eat in the park. Bought a box of six, but there were only five of us. What to do with the extra ice-cream? The old me would have eaten it. DH didn't want it and it would have been impossible to divide up amongst three children (not that they needed it, anyway). So it looked as though it would be thrown away . . . until I approached a total stranger and offered it to him. He declined at first, but when I explained that it would be thrown away, he accepted it. I hope that he enjoyed it.
NSVs:
1) I didn't eat the ice-cream (although I had the calories for it)
2) I had the confidence to walk up to a total stranger and offered him the ice-cream. This is a biggie as the old me would not have done this, and I'm not a people person anyway.
3) I like random acts of kindness, especially when I'm the "giver".
Also: I walked over 10 miles today, and cycled nearly 45 miles.26 -
So this morning was unseasonably cloudy and cold and my current pullover sweatshirt was dirty. My partner, now husband actually, who always seems to be the source of these NSV's suggested I wear a flannel my father had given HIM when HE was cold and needed it. The flannel, a 2XL, is ludicrously large on my husband, but still way too small for me, or so I thought. I tried it on, (one must humor one's spouse after all), and wouldn't you know, it didn't look ridiculous. I couldn't button it all the way but the arms fit and it draped nicely over my clothes. Now it's my next goal to get that sucker buttoned.32

I'm no longer ashamed of eating in public, not even unhealthy foods, or buying junk food from time to time. Feels so liberating!27

Husband and I were at the park and needed to pee... rest area was in a different section of the park. I said let's just walk over there instead of moving the car, husband said it was too far, we walked over anyway. It seemed pretty silly to go to the park for exercise and then drive instead of walking!18

I can cross my legs without having to lift my leg up with my hands...and it stays there. Yes!23

And in this corner deadlifting 310 pounds...44

Ok, this does include a small scale victory but that little bit is representative of so much more!
Yeah!! I try not to take too much stock in the scale but it totally feels nice to
1. See some of my more stubborn areas start to decrease in size.
2. See my weight decrease by about 3lbs
3. Know my strength is not decreasing!
WIN WIN WIN
I have waited such a long time for this since I'm only just over a year post partum with baby #2. This last year I've been slowly and methodically healing my diastases recti, building strength and tracking what I eat without really being able to cut calories. Every time I'd try to cut from 2,400 down to 2,200 or even 2,300 my milk would start to dry up within the same week! Gah! I really wasn't tooooo concerned about it because being able to BF is worth it. I just know that I want more kids sooner instead of later and I wanted to try my hand ant having a decent chance of losing some weight inbetween #2 and trying for #3 b/c I wasn't about to put a huge gap in between the kids ages for weight loss that I will lose when I'm all done anyway. Sorry. I digress. Back to the happy stuff.
I decreased in size from summer into fall even though I gained 10lbs (muscle from the weight lifting17 -
I forget that emojis cut off the post. Here's what's missing from the post above...
...Now, 6 months of tracking later and that fat is FINALLY starting to really come off instead of just slowly dropping off here and there.
Go figure. I weaned the baby 2 weeks ago. HA!
AHHHHH!! I am over the moon right now!!17 -

I used to be a runner. But an injury sidelined me in college and then I pursued to get my mental health in order before committing myself to exercise in the future. (Exercise was a form of purging for me...NO MORE!!)
Working out with fitnessblender free YouTube videos has be instrumental in both my physical health as well as putting those last few pieces of mental health in place. Kelli and Daniel are awesome. This winter is the very first that I've worked out consistently. And I can tell!
The warm weather and desire to be outdoors in quiet morning stillness before the hubby leaves for work and kids are out of bed prompted me to start the C210k program. I ran a 5k back in November and just a few weeks ago ran the fist time since and was able to go for 15mins. WIN!! So I'm sarting on week 4 of C210k
All that story to say that running at 6 this am in the quiet spring air was MARVELOUS. This is what I hoped and hoped and prayed for when I was injured and realized my motives for running weren't healthy all those 10yrs ago.
FREEDOM.
Mentally.
And because of fitnessblender workouts FREEDOM physically as well. I'm strong in ways I've never been before and I can enjoy running even MORE because of it.
So much Joy. Soooooo much joy!!!
I am actually pressing the awesome button over and over again for you
thank you!! I definitely think the stupid grin I get while running in the am's will be plastered to my face for quite some time.3 -
The other day my fiancé was zipping up the back of my dress for me and I just sort of wondered aloud whether my loss so far (15 pounds) was noticeable. He just laughed and stuck his whole arm down the back of my zipped dress. Last month it was getting hard to zip, now there's all this room!34

I went on the hunt for my new rocks and gloves for night out this weekend and found the leather coat that I got when I was 16. I had mutilated it (removed the arms) for a sky-pirate outfit (Whitby Goth weekend times) as it didn't fit and the top button was missing.
Well I put it on and it would do up! I don't think it did up comfortably when I bought it!!!
And despite arms missing etc it still looks cool (c'mon when does a leather trench coat not look good?! hah) and smells just wonderful. Nostalgia for being 16 and also it fits!!
hahaha
so happy!!24 -
@Madwife2009 here is one for you spotted on a five mile walk the other day. You seem to like the birdies6

Bakery has the best doughnuts and they are $5/dozen on Fridays. My husband picked some up after work this morning (he works third shift) and I did not eat one (or more)!16
