Being healthy and living my best life. I used to want to lose weight to look better but that only seemed to send me down a road of low self esteem and unhealthy dieting. Now I DGAF if I'm the slimmest person in the room, and because of it I feel better and am more successful not comparing myself to anyone else's standards.13

Doing this Fit Board Routine every day. Well, an adapted version for my personal best.1 -
I wanted to lose weight because it felt uncomfortable. It was hard to find clothes that fit (more mentally than physically; I refused to accept that I was that overweight). Clothes were getting tighter, and it hurt, panties would fold when I leant forward, I hated the feeling of cushions of fat smashing into cushions of fat. So I preferred to move as little as possible, just adding to the problem.
Taking the correct action solved all those problems, over time, and more problems I didn't think about. I don't have insane cravings anymore. I am more eager to move. I like shopping for clothes. I enjoy cooking and eating. Pains are gone, I don't have bruises and zits. I am more controlled, relaxed, rested and energetic. I sleep better. I have more time. I feel at ease. I guess that is a description of "healthy".24 -
I've been over 300lbs for over half my life. 380+ since 16. Over 400 by my 20s. I blame my darling husband (then boyfriend). I imagined about 6mo in that this was pretty serious and I wanted to have children with him one day. I couldn't see myself doing that at my weight. Then, my mom, who was a wonderful and very supportive woman lost her struggle with diabetes 2 years back.
Lets be positive though! It's for the babies and being around for the babies and being an awesome mom to them that lives for a very long time. Curiously long... Ha! At least I'm under 300 now, but I occasionally kick myself for taking a year off nearly.9 -
I never really thought about it.. I just really like being thin. I guess for me it's automatic. I am naturally much smaller than most people, and when i gain 5-10lbs I feel motivated to lose it. which is where i am4

I want to be healthy. Having suffered from severe hypertension for the past 10+ years, I'm tired of being unhealthy. Although I've been at this seriously since April 3, I do like the way exercising makes me feel. I like the energy I have and am able to sleep much better.
It's all baby steps for me!! This is a lifestyle change that I want to make work.3 -
I love the discipline! The feeling that I have control over something in my life. I choose what to eat, when and how to exercise, and it makes me so proud. Even though I can't seem to lose weight the last three months I feel great. It really has just become a lifestyle7

Losing weight is my life battle so I must Win it . It gives me my best version of ME . It helps me find Myself1

I have been overweight most of my life so far, and I decided I am going to change it. As for some side little reasons aside from that one: I want to be smaller than my boyfriend so I can wear his shirts to bed and they will be comfy, I want to be healthy for when we have kids, I want to prove to the world that I can be thinner and not be overweight, I also want to wear cute clothes, because clothes for overweight people are not always the cutest, and I want to be a girlfriend that my boyfriend will be proud to show off (of course I know he already is, but it's a me feeling anyways. He says nothing about my weight.) I know a lot of these don't really matter, but they are little things that motivate me when I feel like being lazy one day.3

Having just had to lose a significant (to me) amount of weight for the first time in my life, my current motivation is when my jeans get tight. I'm determined not to have to do that again.2

I need to be healthy and want to be physically active and strong. My daughter needs a great role model for wellness. I've been overweight or obese since my teen years and want to change that. Only way to make a change is to just do it. No excuses (there are millions of them) and no regrets.3

I wanted to look good for my wedding, because that's one day that you can't re-do. I didn't want to look at the pictures 5-10 years later and be embarrassed or wish I had tried harder to look nice. Maybe a little vain, but true.
I want to take good care of my body so that I age well and feel good physically and mentally throughout every stage of my life.
I think I look more attractive when I'm thin, which makes me feel positive feelings and gives me confidence. I have felt much healthier emotionally since losing 30 lbs.2 -
Honestly, I hate being heavy and pregnancy didn't take well to me...twice. I gained 50 ish lbs with both my kids and had preeclampsia both times after suffering a miscarriage in between. I wasn't ever too far past my goal weight until then-maybe 20 ish lbs after nursing school. But after my daughter I breastfed and was very weary of dieting but lost all but 20 lbs until We tried and got pregnant again when she was 18 months and lost the baby at 3 months so I had already gained about 10 lbs of bloat and fat. Then I got pregnant the next month with my son and gained the 50 with him so it put me about 70 lbs from what I was prepregnancy with my daughter. I've lost all of that except 2 lbs. I was 188 when I got married (2 weeks before conceiving my daughter) and I'm 190 today. My son is 9 months old and self weaned which broke my heart, but has made me be able to have a larger deficit now.
I just want to feel happy and sexy for my myself and my husband and want to be happy and energetic for my kids! That's all I want! And in order to be happy, I have to be where I want to be weight wise. Enough was enough.2 -
Seeing my elderly father barely able to walk because he ignored doctors telling him to exercise for his entire life.6

At the start of my journey it was largely aesthetic and being fed up of feeling ugly, although a lot of it was also not liking being out of breath doing one flight of stairs, not feeling able to run for the bus etc.
I was having a bit of a dip in motivation over the last month and just two days ago got declined for income protection insurance. Now, it might have been my dad's medical history, but I reckon loads of people have a parent with a history of diabetes and heart disease and still get quoted. It's far more likely that my weight is currently over 100kg (or possibly that combined with my father's medical history). Anyway, when an insurer thinks they'd end up paying out for me to take sick leave in the future, it's a bit of a wake-up call!
I've come to accept that I'll probably never feel all that good about how I look, unless I can afford to pay for excess skin removal, and it's much more important to be fit and healthy. I don't just want to live to retirement, I want to be able to enjoy my life up to and beyond that point as well.1 -
I look 5 months pregnant when I am naked and it stinks, not attractive at all!3

Whatever the cause , we CAN do it . Just keep going.1

I wanna look bombass in my wedding dress.6

I want to look good for my husband. Of course he says he doesn't care what size I am, but he loves to show me off, and hates that I'm so camera shy because of my weight. Diabetes runs rampant in my family so I'm trying to stave that off. Finally, I want to show my son a healthy, energetic, strong mama.2

I want to see my belly FLAT !3

Seeing my progress so far, and that is worth it. Also, a blood test 2 months ago showing triglycerides double what they're supposed to be. Need to get those to a healthy level.1

I decided I needed to get fit and lose weight when I got up to 15 stone 4. I'm 37lbs down, I have around another 30lbs to lose and I'd like to do it by November. What motivates me to lose weight and be healthy is how much energy I have now, it's made me become a much more positive person, and I'm a lot more happier1

I have many reasons-health, vanity, etc. But ultimately, I'm just more comfortable at a smaller weight. It's amazing, but even being just slightly overweight, so many things are just awkward/uncomfortable and I absolutely hate the feeling of being restricted. It makes me feel claustrophobic.
I feel freer when I'm at my ideal weight range (per my own preference) and also enjoy the feeling of being strong/fit.2 -
I never had any weight issues until I was in my 30s and took a desk job...I was always lean, healthy, and fit and was a competitive athlete for much of my life.
When I was 38 I went in for my annual physical and it turned up some pretty bad blood work...it had actually been brewing for a few years, but it was really bad at this particular visit...so initially, it was my health. As I got into things I realized how much I missed being physically active and capable...a lot of the things I used to love to do, I couldn't do anymore or very well or comfortably as a fatty.
I've more or less maintained my loss for four years now...I usually put on about 8-10 Lbs over the winter and I'm always motivated to take it off in the spring because I like going to poolside BBQs in the summer and looking fit and lean...so mostly vanity these days.3 -
One of the "little" factors was seeing a parody of crazy magazine diets. ("I lost 20 pounds in a week on the Banana Diet!", that kind of thing.) Only this one was called the "Less Cake, More Exercise Diet".

It made me laugh, but it also made me think--damn, it's true though. I've lost 55 lbs on the L.C.M.E. diet, lol.4 -
It just hit me I'm going to be 30 soon and I am not the best I can be. When making life improvements, I like to improve all aspects of me even physical. In addition to the fact that I cannot afford plastic surgery . I just can't wait to look like an instagram model selling flat tummy teas and waist trainers lol3

Wish you all success1
