Trying to grow connections on Garmin Connect

Hi- I'm attempting to add more people into my garmin connect circle so I have more motivation to keep going. For whatever reason, it does not allow me to search by my location to add more locals. Any one else part of the garmin family?

I've found that strava is more social than garmin connect. You can actually link and auto-upload garmin connect activities to strava. I've got like 70 plus connections on strava and only about 5 on garmin. Most all of them are from a MFP fitness challenge group.1

I just made the switch from Fitbit and have no Garmin Connect friends, I'm not even sure what my username is or how to add but if you know yours I can add you!1

I'm a Garmin user - same username as here, I am more active socially on MFP but do like the step challenges on Garmin. There are a couple of Garmin groups with username threads:
