I live just outside Yosemite National Park and volunteer at tge Yosemite Visitor's Bureau. Today I was assisting some visitors, telling them about a hike to a waterfall that is short, but quite steep. I mentioned that there are several good rocks to sit on while taking a break in needed. The husband said that if I have to take a break it must be very steep because I look very fit and healthy, which I kind of brushed off as I went on to tell them of other hikes available.
It didn't even hit me until I was in my car heading home that their perception of me is so different from my own views of myself. I still think of myself as 90 pounds heavier, but that's not me anymore.
By the way, 3 years ago when I first hiked to that waterfall, I had to rest several times. Last year I had to rest once and this year I marched right up with no break.44 -
Went to an outdoor concert yesterday. I brought with me a folding chair that used to cut into the back of my thighs whenever i sat for any length of time. Sat in it yesterday off an on for about 2.5 hours without any discomfort! Yippee!!!!31

Got my spare room cleaned out to the point that I can use my weight bench again - did a bunch of rows and bench pressing, I can hardly press anything but baby steps...24

Thanks for the laugh - for myself I notice how I seem to drop many fewer things on my shirt. Less distance to travel!11 -
my size 16 trousers now fit comfortably enough to wear them at work.
Am off to google (and borrowing a sewing machine) this weekend to investigate making the legs narrower as they still hang off hips and butt - tch
going to practice on the size 18s though - as someone else mentioned, no safety net. If I mess up the 18s, I have no more larger trousers for work! But I will probably need the practice before altering the 16s21 -
Wearing a pair of size 14 jeans for the first time in my life!46

I'm drinking black unsweetened coffee by choice. Usually I doctor it up with sugar and half and half. Of course it tastes like superior coffee than the usual office swill. I'm also been mostly replacing my coffee when I get to work with a cup of tea instead.16

"Graduating" from the plus department for the first time in many years!39

I got rid of all my old bras. I just rewarded myself for losing 50% of my goal weight and dropping a bra size by buying all new bras from Victoria's Secret. Victoria's Secret is currently having its semi-annual sale which was perfect timing!28

I didn't give up. I'm thirty, so pretty young, my NSV is realizing that I really don't have an end date. I'm just going to be healthy. Forever.45

Whilst cleaning our basement this weekend ....the boy I married and I were carrying large pieces of furniture up the stairs and on more than one occassion he had to tell me to quit moving so fast up the stairs .....he could not keep up with his "wonder woman". Loved it! He rarely acknowledges so I will take it. Have to admit , being the brat I am I did hurry to load shizza up on to the tailgate of the truck before he could bend over to help....just to poke at him a little. GAH! Love it.26

After my mother retired 3 years ago, she gave me all of her scrubs. Well today just for fun I thought I try them on just to see how much more I had to loose before I could wear them. OMG, OMG....they FIT!!! I did the happy dance in my bedroom. Haha. I used to wear a size 2X. These are size Large. I'm thrilled.35

Ran my first race yesterday. 8k, in 42:20, for a pace of 5:17 per km. Started C25K last July, never ran before that. Decent showing.29

In my head I still wear XXL. I dropped 2 dress sizes and bought a nice new emerald green top but it's too big. I should get a month's wear out of it before it looks ridiculously too big. I need to stop hiding my body and wear what fits me properly.
To celebrate being half way to my goal I got a tattoo. I feel oh so naughty sitting hear at work knowing that under my hair is a big neck tattoo.28 -
Found a dress from years ago which was a 16 and hmm, hasn't dated badly, would look brand new with the right belt, wonder how close I am to being able to wear it? And it fits! The emergency clothes I bought a couple months ago because I needed something to wear that wasn't falling off were 20s down from 26-28 starting, I thought I was about an 18 now but seems like I left that one in the rear view mirror!
The real NSV though is starting to believe that I might someday shop in regular sizes again, instead of having to pick from "fat people clothes" because the ones I like aren't made in my size.40 -
Two NSVs!
-I've been fitting into my "goal" denim skirt for a month now but it finally fits comfortably enough I plan on wearing it tonight for a show with friends now I need a new goal!
- Wore a regular bathing suit bottom instead of shorts to the pool this weekend!32 -
My armpits hurt! I did actual pushups yesterday and my armpits hurt (actually that spot infront of the armpits, but i don't know what it's called).
And, I can pull my "motivation jeans"! Can't button them, but I can get them all the way up! I couldn't get them over my knees at Christmas time.29 -
Went to a yoga class this morning for the first time in about a year. LET ME TELL YOU it is painful rolling around on a thin mat when you no longer have 85 extra pounds of cushion! Ow. I could feel every bone in my body rubbing on that wooden floor. I used to think it was silly when yogis would use two mats at once, but now I'll have to be one of those people.
On the bright side, it is so much easier to wrap my hands around my thighs and knees, touch my toes, do downward dog, etc. etc. etc.27 -
My butt cheeks don't touch.
I'm not sure when this happened. I'm not even sure if this can be construed as a "victory". But I realized last night that I have a butt cheek gap now. I'm pretty sure that's new, so I'll take it.23 -
More PRs. 285 lb squat for five last night.11

This is a big one for me, cause makes me really body conscious - a couple years ago I lost weight really quickly and completely changed my diet, and that came with so many of those fat marbles under my skin on my tummy. Now I've noticed, that not only they have become smaller, some of them have completely disappeared ! So happy!
And also it's only Tuesday, but I have done 5 workouts already!23 -
@Kepplekakes I hope I look like that in 20 years!! Amazing!4

So they DO disappear!? I've had one since college and I've been wondering if there was even a chance it would someday disappear. Good to know it *may* that's better than thinking I'm stuck with it forever!7 -
Ran a timed mile yesterday as part of a regular fitness test I do. First mile in 6m or more. I pushed hard and the whole time I was just hoping to come in at 9:30 or so. Imagine my surprise when I finished in 8:19! WOO!24

Jeans I purchased back in the Winter, because my other jeans were getting too snug, officially have to be safety pinned (instead of using the button) so I can make them smaller and continue wearing them! And those too snug jeans fit just right now!19

This morning I cycled 10 miles . . . and . . . got soaked.
This afternoon I walked 3 miles . . . and . . . got soaked
This evening I cycled 23 miles . . . and . . . got soaked, dried out, got soaked right through to my undies and socks, dried out and got soaked again.
I've had to change my clothes three times today. And I am very cold now.
The really sad thing is that I actually enjoyed the exercise, despite the soakings. As I slogged it up one hill on the bike this evening, I was laughing as I got to the top. This may have been hysteria. I can't tell for sure as by that point I was losing my mind ever so slightly.35 -
@jaroby I got them 3 year ago and they have started disappearing/shrinking just now!2

You are well-named, "mad"wife!
